Hyderabad, August 6 - Nandamuri Kalyan Ram has officially confirmed the sequel to Bimbisara after seeing the blockbuster start of the film. The Telugu film industry was looking for a big hit for the last two months and seems it finally has in the form of this fantasy action film, which was released on August 5. ## Directed by Mallidi Vasishta, Bimbisara received a very good reception from the critics and audiences and witnessed packed theaters from the evening shows onwards for the first time. This was enough indication of an excellent weekend the movie is going to have. ## Nandamuri Kalyan Ram made a historic comeback, and director Vassishta scored a blockbuster on his debut. Los Angeles, August 5 - There are a lot of things going on with Warner Bros. regarding the studio's future roadmap and it seems, the studio has its plans going forward as far as DC films are concerned under the new CEO David Zaslav at Warner Bros. Discovery. ## Warner Bros. recently canceled the release of the HBO Max film "Batgirl" and has defended it saying "We’re not going to put a movie out unless we believe in it". It is clearly visible that under Zaslav, Warner Bros. is looking to boost its theatrical business model and the CEO claimed to have a 10-year plan for the same. ## "You look at Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman — these are brands that are known everywhere in the world. We have done a reset. We've restructured the business where we are going to focus, where there is going to be a team with a 10-year plan focusing just on DC. We believe we can build a much more sustainable business", Zaslav said during an earnings call Thursday (via THR)## Warner Bros. is seen as a rival of Marvel Studios in Hollywood though the latter is far ahead of the former one. Marvel never lagged behind anyone in producing blockbuster titles and the studio already keeps plans for the future. DC is now looking to emulate the success of the Disney-owned Marvel Studios, which Kevin Feige has built into the highest-grossing film franchise in history. ## According to THR, CEO David Zaslav has been advised by Feige's former boss, retired Disney film chief Alan Horn to apply the Marvel playbook model for DC films. ## "It's very similar to the structure Alan Horn, [former Disney CEO] Bob Iger and Kevin Feige put together very effectively at Disney. We think we can build a much stronger, sustainable growth business out of DC", said Zaslav. "As part of that, we are going to focus on quality. We are not going to release any film before it's ready. DC is something we can make better".## After the cancellation of "Batgirl", there are at least 5 films already under production at DC Extended Universe. The movies include "Black Adam", "Shazam! Fury of the Gods", "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom", "The Flash", and "Blue Beetle". Los Angeles, August 4 - Warner Bros., in the quest of boosting its big event theatrical titles, has sealed the release date of the much-awaited Joker 2, to be directed by Todd Phillips. ## The sequel to this DC Comics-based psychological thriller film, titled Joker: Folie à deux, will be hitting theaters on October 4, 2024. Joaquin Phoenix, who scored his first Oscar for his performance in Joker, will be reprising his role as the DC villain. ## Interestingly, the original Joker movie also debuted on October 4 in 2019 in North America and went on to gross $1.07 billion at the worldwide box office. The film legged out to $335.4M domestic and globally it is the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time. The movie will have a theatrical release on August 11 in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages. ## "Laal Singh Chaddha" will have enough to perform at the box office as Aamir Khan is in no hurry to bring the film to OTT anytime soon. While most of the Bollywood films post-pandemic have opted for a 4-week theatrical window, "Laal Singh Chaddha" will be released on OTT only after 6 months of theatrical release. ## The superstar, in a recent interview, revealed why is not in hurry to bring the film to a digital platform. "One of the reasons primarily I think the curiosity of going to theaters has reduced because films come on OTT right after they come in theaters, they come on OTT very fast".## "So I have always tried to keep a 6-month gap for my films. I don't know what the industry follows, but I like to keep a 6-month gap. So that’s what I tried to do for all my films and up till now, we have managed that", he added. ## Aamir is right in what he thinks about changing the mindset of the producers and moviegoers. Theater owners across the country have been speaking against this current model and have been asking for at least 8 weeks gap between theatrical and OTT releases of films. There are reports that Bollywood has finally agreed to keep the 8-week theatrical window from August 1st. ## Meanwhile, the trailer of "Laal Singh Chaddha" is receiving love from all quarters.
