Mumbai, September 4 - Akshay Kumar-fronted psychological crime thriller film Cuttputlli, directed by Ranjit M. Tewari, has the number 1 movie on Disney Plus Hotstar, according to Pooja Entertainment. It is a remake of the 2018 Tamil film "Ratsasan" and stars Akshay Kumar, Rakul Preet Singh, Joshua LeClair, Chandrachur Singh, and Sargun Mehta in key roles. ## "Cuttputlli" was released directly on Disney Plus Hotstar on September 2 after the makers decided to forgo a theatrical release for the movie. This move seems to have paid off as it is trending at the top since the first day across the country, however, Disney hasn't revealed the viewership numbers to claim the fact. ## The film is about an aspiring filmmaker who becomes a police officer after his father's death and investigates the murder of school girls. 'Radhe Shyam' Producers Acquire Telugu Theatrical Rights of Prabhas-Fronted 'Adipurush'?

Mumbai, September 4 - Superstar Prabhas is preparing himself for the release of one of the biggest films of his career, Adipurush, based on the epic Ramayana. ## The Om Raut-directed film is scheduled to release on January 12, 2023, and there is already massive anticipation for the movie in the trade. ## Prabhas' last "Radhe Shyam" was produced by UV Creations and T-Series, and according to Telugu 360, UV Creations has acquired the Telugu theatrical rights of the movie. ## Prabhas shares a very good bond with the producers and it is said that he has asked them to grab the film's distribution rights for the Telugu version. ## The report says that UV Creations bagged the rights for Rs 100 crores and they are expected to score a big profit from this particular movie. Movie Tickets To Be Sold At Rs. 75 To Celebrate National Cinema Day

Mumbai, September 3 - The Multiplex Association of India (MAI) has decided to sell cinema hall tickets for Rs. 75 only to commemorate India's first National Cinema Day on September 16. This means all the types of tickets for all the movies will be sold at Rs. 75 for the entire day. ## This move comes after theatres in the US announced that Movie tickets would be available for as low as $3 on National Cinema Day, celebrated on September 3, while the regular ticket pricing is at approx. $9 (Rs 717). The MAI also decided to follow suit and declared September 16 as National Cinema Day. ## Major chains like PVR, INOX, Cinépolis, Carnival, Miraj, Citypride, Asian, Mukta A2, Movietime, Wave, M2K, and Delite, are among those that will sell tickets at Rs 75 on the day, and the total number of screens is around 4000 including the major chains. The average regular movie ticket price in India is around Rs. 200. ## The MAI issued a statement that reads, "National Cinema Day will bring together audiences of all ages to enjoy a day at the movies. It also celebrates the successful reopening of cinemas and is a thank you to the moviegoers who made this happen. It is an invitation to those moviegoers who haven't made it back to a cinema near them, yet".## The Multiplex association also claimed that India has a thriving domestic film industry and saw one of the sharpest recoveries in the film exhibition business, globally. The special shows of Trivikram Srinivas-directed action comedy were arranged across Telugu states and international locations on September 1 and 2.## "Jalsa" was re-released on over 500 shows worldwide, which is an all-time record for an Indian movie as far as the special shows are concerned. The movie also did exceptionally well at the box office and brought in higher numbers than most of the new releases opening day numbers. ## The movie collected approx. 2.60 crores gross in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states, including approx. 1.26 crores from the Nizam area while the rest of India's collection of the movie is around 20 lakhs. These are all-time record collections for an Indian movie's re-release for one-day. Overseas, "Jalsa" scored approx. 30 lakh ($37600) from the USA box office from 26 locations while from 5 locations in Australia, it collected approx. 6 lakh (A$10960). ## The total worldwide collection of the film is around 3.20 crores gross, and the entire collection will be used for charity.
