The movie has been in the development for a long time but things aren't moving ahead as the complete cast is yet to be locked. ## Over the last couple of days, the rumours making noise that the movie has been put on hold for the time being. However, this news didn't take long to get dismissed as the latest reliable reports have confirmed that the movie is very much on and the makers even have locked the lead pair of Ram and Sita. ## According to Pinkvilla, Bollywood real-life couple Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt have been locked to play Ram and Sita. Ranbir was already locked to played Lord Rama though the makers never made the official comment on the same. It is said that the actor has been visiting DNEG office to doing look tests as Lord Ram. ## Nitesh Tiwari along with producers Madhu Mantena and Namit Malhotra have already reportedly completed the pre-visualization of their version of "Ramayan". They makers have created a "Ramayana Office" to get all the word done regarding the movie. ## The report further said that Alia Bhatt has been confirmed to play Sita and she was always the first choice of the makers for this divine role. She is excited to play Sita's character that could stay with her for a lifetime. ## While Ranbir and Alia are locked, the makers are in the advance talks with superstar Yash to play the role of Raavan. It is said that Yash was impressed with the pre-visualization of the movie and the role of Lankesh and very much intrested in doing it. Mumbai, June 7 - Director Nitesh Tiwari's cinematic adaptation of Ramayana has been put on hold indefinitely, according to reports. The movie was supposed to be headlined by Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi as Ram and Sita. ## The movie has been in pre-production for a long time but as per the reports, the project has been put on the backburner for the time being. While the makers haven't made anything official yet, it is said that they were unable to lock in the actor to play the role of Raavan. ## Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan was earlier reportedly approached to play Raavan and he showed interest in it as well but since the movie was not moving forward, the actor backed out in order to focus on other commitments. ## The project, backed by Madhu Mantena and Namit Malhotra, was supposed to be made on a huge budget and was to start shooting this year. Mumbai, June 7 - In February last year, Sony Pictures India in association with Mukesh Khanna's Bheeshm International, and Brewing Thoughts Private Limited announced the cinematic adaptation of the popular Indian superhero show Shaktimaan. ## Sony Pictures announced the movie as a planned trilogy, but there hasn't been much development happened since the announcement. During this, the rumors have been making rounds that Ranveer Singh was approached to play the iconic role but there was no confirmation about the same after that. ## Mukesh Khanna, who played the titular role in the "Shaktimaan" tv series, has now opened up on why the production of the movie is getting delayed and when it will start rolling. Khanna confirmed that the contract between him and Sony Pictures has already been signed and plans are being made to start the production soon. ## "This is a big-scale project and each film in the trilogy would cost at least 200-300 crores in the making. This is not a small film, it is a massive film, and that takes time. A lot of things are happening, but I am not allowed to talk", Khanna said in a video on his YouTube Channel Bhishma International.## The actor-producer also revealed that he cannot make any appearance in Shaktimaan's get-up now as the makers of the movie don't want any comparison. Khanna, however, refused to reveal the actor who will play the role of "Shaktimaan" but promised that the cast will be revealed soon. ## It has been also reported that Malayalam filmmaker Basil Joseph has been approached to direct the film with Ranveer Singh being the front-runner to headline it. Los Angeles, June 7 - Filmmaker Zack Snyder is currently working on his next film Rebel Moon, an epic space adventure about a young woman who is trying to save her community from imminent destruction. The movie, boasting a solid cast, will hit Netflix on December 22 this year. ## "Rebel Moon" is the most anticipated Netflix film and the good news is, Snyder will split it into two parts, along with two cuts (including a director's cut). During a recent interview with Vanity Fair, the "Justice League" director reveals his plans to make two versions of the movie.## "The first version of Rebel Moon to hit screens will be a fantasy adventure that anyone can enjoy and watch. The later cut will be strictly for adults. I think for fans of mine and people who are ready to take a deeper, harder dive, that'll be fun for them", he said.## Meanwhile, the movie will also have its sequel since there might not be enough time to tell the whole story in a single movie. The second part, however, won't be released too long after the first part (December 22). Just like its predecessor, the sequel will also come with an alternate cut meant to be seen by an adult audience.## The release date for the second part is not revealed yet. "It won't be long after. Kochi, June 6 - The theater owners in Kerala have decided to take a strong stand against the Mollywood filmmaker for opting for early OTT release of their movies. It has been seen with most of the Malayalam movies that despite the very good run in theaters, producers have opted for early release on digital platforms. ## The latest in the list is the all-time blockbuster "2018" which was released in theaters on May 5 and will be streaming SonyLiv from June 7, less than five weeks after the theatrical release. This has left the theater owners disappointed as this film has been running with packed houses across Kerala state. ## Now, according to the latest development, the theater owners have called for a strike on June 7 and 8 as a protest against early digital releases. This means theaters won't be functioning across the state for the next 2 days. It is said that the Kerala theaters will demand an increase in the OTT window period from 42 days to 90 days.## Meanwhile, theaters that come under FEUOK (Film Exhibitors United Organisation of Kerala) are already reportedly considering not continuing "2018" after its OTT release. It is also revealed that Kerala theatres have started to refund the ticket amounts to those who pre-booked tickets for June 7 and 8. ## It is to be noted that Kerala theater owners have been demanding a suitable OTT release window for the movies for a long time. Hyderabad, June 6 - Superstar Prabhas-fronted highly-awaited Adipurush is getting ready to release in theaters on June 16. The movie is having a huge buzz and curiosity among the fans and general audiences or even the trade that is hopeful of massive returns. ## With just 10 days to go for the release, the makers are getting big offers from distributors to grab the theatrical rights. Since Prabhas is playing the lead role, the distributors from Telugu states have thrown huge money for theatrical rights. ## According to Telugu media reports, People Media Factory acquired the Telugu states theatrical rights of the film for a whopping approx. 120 crore, according to T2BLive. People Meda Factory sold the Nizam area rights to Mythri Movie Makers for approx. 50 crores. The pre-release business in the 6 territories of Andhra Pradesh has been locked at approx. 52 crores. ## The Ceeded area rights have been sealed at approx. 18 crores as the overall business of the movie in AP-TG is approx. 120 crores. This is the 4th highest AP-TG business of all time, after "RRR" (191 Cr), "Baahubali 2" (122 Cr), and "Saaho" (121.60 Cr). "Adipurush" will need to score 121 crores share collection and approx. 200 crores gross collection in order to break even and emerge as a clean hit in the two Telugu states.## According to recent reports, the budget of "Adipurush" is around 500 crores and the makers have already recovered around 430 crores. The post-theatrical digital rights have reportedly been sold to Amazon Prime Video for all languages. ## Directed by Om Raut, "Adipurush" is the cinematic adaptation of Ramayana and stars Prabhas as Lord Rama alongside Kriti Sanon as Sita, Saif Ali Khan as Raavan, Sunny Singh as Laxman and Devdatta Nage as Hanuman, among others.
