Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Jailer' Official Runtime and Synopsis Revealed

Chennai, July 18 - Superstar Rajinikanth is all set to back in the action with director Nelson Dilipkumar's action thriller film "Jailer" which is scheduled to release on August 10, 2023. The much-awaited movie is produced by Kalanithi Maran of Sun Pictures who also produced Rajinikanth's last film "Annaatthe" (2021) as well. ## The makers have been tight-lipped regarding the details of "Jailer", however, the official synopsis and runtime of the movie have reportedly been revealed online. It has been revealed that the movie's runtime is 150 minutes (2 hours and 30 minutes) and it is likely to get the U/A certificate from CBFC.## As per the rumored official synopsis, Rajinikanth is playing the role of a Jailer who stops a gang trying to rescue their leader from jail. "A Gang tries to Rescue their leader from the prison, where others are stuck at a problem, the Jailer of the prison shows off to stop them all", the synopsis read.## "Jailer" was officially announced in February 2022 with the working title Thalaivar 169, being the 169th film of Rajinikanth, while the official title Jailer was announced in June. It boasts a solid star cast that also includes Mohanlal, Jackie Shroff, Shiva Rajkumar, Sunil, Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Mirnaa Menon, Yogibabu, and Vinayakan in key roles.## The music of the movie is composed by sensational Anirudh Ravichander. Los Angeles, July 17 - Marvel Studios' recent blockbuster "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" is getting ready to release on Disney Plus soon. Directed by James Gunn, the movie was originally released on May 5 this year and grossed close to $850 million at the worldwide box office.## It has been more than two months since the movie is in cinemas though its run at the box office is almost over. Now, Disney has provided an update regarding the film's digital premiere and the MCU fans will not have to wait much longer for the same. ## The streamer has confirmed that GoTG3 will start streaming on Disney+ on August 2, 2023, almost three months after its theatrical release. In India, the movie is expected to be available on the same date on Disney+Hotstar in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages.## Earlier, Disney used to stream Marvel movies on Disney+ less than 8 weeks after the theatrical release. Mumbai, July 17 - After the fantastic 5-day opening weekend, "Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning - Part One" witnesses a drop of around 70% on its first Monday. The drop was expected as it was frontloaded Hollywood tentpole but a drop of around 50% would have been a nice hold. ## As per the early estimates, "Mission Impossible 7" has scored around 4.75-5.25 crores net today, which takes the total collection to around 68.50 crores in 6 days. The overall collection of the movie so far is strong but it would like to hold on to a similar level as Monday for the next few days. ## The extended first-week collection of the film is likely to be around 80 crores net which will give it a shot to cross the lifetime collection of "MI6" to become the highest-grossing film in the franchise as well as Tom Cruise-starrer in India. ## "MI7" will see some competition from its fellow Hollywood titles "Oppenheimer" and "Barbie" in the coming weekend. Chennai, July 17 - The incredible rise of Tamil star Sivakarthikeyan continues as his latest Tamil political superhero film Maaveeran is set to emerge as a huge blockbuster for the actor. Directed by Mandela fame Madonne Ashwin, Maaveeran concludes its opening weekend with around 43 crores gross worldwide. ## Made with a budget of around 35 crores, Maaveeran took a fantastic opening of over 9.50 crores gross, before registering a good jump on Saturday and Sunday to bring in 11 crores and over 12 crores gross, respectively to score the domestic opening weekend of 32.60 crores. ## The movie had a fantastic weekend in Tamil Nadu with a gross collection of over 25 crores while it also did well in Karnataka, AP/TG, and the rest of India. Mumbai, July 16 - Hollywood blockbuster "Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning - Part One" starring superstar Tom Cruise scored an excellent 5-day opening weekend at the Indian box office, setting a new record in Mission Impossible franchise as well as for a Tom Cruise-starrer. ## The 7th installment in the action thriller franchise scores its biggest day as far today in India with a decent jump of around 10% over the first Saturday collection. The movie scores an estimated 16.50-17.50 crores net collection on its first Sunday which takes the total 5-day opening weekend collection to around 63 crores in all versions. ## "Mission Impossible 7" will easily cross the 6th installment's final collection of around 80 crores net in its first week itself to become the biggest-grossing movie in the franchise as well as Tom Cruise's career in India. It has already become the second highest-grossing movie of the actor in India. ## Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, MI7 is set to enter the 100 crores net club in India. Los Angeles, July 16 - Tom Cruise muscles his star power as his latest summer blockbuster "Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning - Part One" scores a huge opening weekend of $234.10 million at the global box office, the biggest global debut for the franchise. ## Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the 7th installment in the Mission Impossible series hits the franchise's best 5-day record with a $78.5 million launch, including $55 million between Friday and Sunday. The movie was, however, projected to reach $90 million over the 5-day weekend.## The Friday to Sunday opening of $55 million of "MI7" landed behind 2018's "Mission: Impossible – Fallout" ($61 million) and 2000's "Mission: Impossible II" ($57.8 million). Trade believes that a traditional Friday release of the latest blockbuster would have easily hit $75+ million over the Fri-Sun weekend, however, the 5-day opening is still reasonable as the movie has enough power to have a long run. ## Overseas, Tom Cruise scored his biggest opening ever with $155.60 million on a 5-day opening weekend over 70 markets. The previous best for the actor was "Top Gun: Maverick" which grossed $126 million overseas opening weekend before the movie finished its run at around $1.5 billion globally. ## China was the number one overseas market of MI7 with a $25.4 million opening weekend, followed by Korea with $14.3 million, the UK with $13.8 million, India with a huge $9 million, and Australia with $8.3 million start. ## MI7 will have a stiff competition going forward as Christopher Nolan's "Oppenheimer" and Greta Gerwig's "Barbie" are opening on July 21. It was the first major summer Hollywood tentpole in India and the audience welcomed it with open arms. ## "Mission Impossible 7" is having a very good response in the IMAX format as the IMAX collection of the movie is over 5 crores gross in the first 4 days. Unfortunately, the movie will have just 10 days to get the benefit of IMAX screens as Christopher Nolan's atom bomb movie "Oppenheimer" will acquire all the IMAX screens from July 21. ## "Oppenheimer" has been shot entirely in IMAX and it is touted to be an IMAX wonder and a lifetime of opportunity to experience this 3-hours long film in this format.
