Mumbai, July 31 - Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt-fronted "Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani" crosses 50 crores net mark after the solid first Monday. The movie had a very good opening weekend with 45.90 crores net, which is the 4th biggest first Friday-Sunday weekend for Bollywood this year.## RRKPK needed to stay strong on its first make-or-break Monday and it passes the test with flying colors. The early estimates suggest the collection is in the range of 7-7.50 crores net today, dropping around 60% from Sunday which is normal after a strong weekend collection. ## As compared to Friday, the drop in the collection of RRKPK today is in the range of 30-35% which is a fantastic hold, however, the overall collection is on the average side for a big-budget movie like this. The first Friday/opening day was itself decent with 11.10 crores net though the Saturday and Sunday jump didn't let it affect the overall weekend collection. ## The total collection of the film has reached over 53 crores net in 4 days, and RRKPK will need to remain consistent during the coming days for a good opening week. As of now, it looks like the movie will finish its first week with around 70-73 crores net which is a good result. Mumbai, July 31 - Karan Johar's directorial romantic family drama film "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani" scored a huge opening weekend at the worldwide box office, thanks to the very good performance internationally.## The movie, starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, took a decent opening at the domestic box office with 11.10 crores net, before showing big jumps on Saturday and Sunday for 16.05 crores and 18.75 crores net, respectively, making it a 45.90 crores net (~54.50 crores gross) opening weekend. ## The 45.90 crores net is the 4th biggest Friday-Sunday opening weekend for Bollywood in 2023, after "Pathaan", "Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan", and "Adipurush". Overseas, RRKPK grossed approx. 34 crores in the first weekend, helping the worldwide collection of the movie to reach approx. 88.50 crores which are superb. It will cross 100 crores mark by tomorrow.## RRKPK did well in North America with a gross collection of approx. $1.80 million (14.80 crores) in the first weekend. It could have scored more but lack of showcasing due to the juggernaut of "Barbie" and "Oppenheimer" affect RRKPK's biz in this market. In the UK, it scored approx. $460K (3.80 crores) opening weekend. Mumbai, July 30 - Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani concludes the opening weekend with a solid Sunday at the domestic box office. It has scored a jump of around 15-20% today from its Saturday collection of 16.05 crores net. ## Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani scored an estimated 18.50-19 crores net collection on its third day/first Sunday, pushing the opening weekend total to around 46 crores net. The movie scored a good jump over the weekend after taking a decent opening. ## The opening weekend collection of RRKPK is very much on the expected lines as it wasn't the frontloaded film. The movie will rely on long legs to emerge as a box-office success and for that, the first Monday hold will be crucial for it. Word of mouth is positive which should help the movie going forward.## RRKPK scores the 4th biggest opening weekend (Fri-Sun) for a Bollywood movie in 2023, after "Pathaan", "Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan" and "Adipurush". Mumbai, July 29 - After a decent opening day of 11.10 crores net, Karan Johar's "Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani" witnesses a solid jump of over 40% today, on its second at the domestic box office. Positive word of mouth comes into play today as it scores one of the biggest second-day jumps post the covid-19 pandemic for a major Bollywood release. ## The early estimates suggest the second-day collection in the range of 15.50-16.50 crores, which takes the total net collection to around 27 crores in two days. The movie is strong in multiplexes which witnesses a solid jump while non-multiplexes also show a minor improvement over opening-day sales. ## RRKPK needed a big jump today after not so strong opening day and the makers will be happy with the jump. The best-performing city of the movie is Delhi while it is also collecting well in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Mumbai. ## The film should show further jump tomorrow on Sunday, though the jump wouldn't be as big as today. Mumbai, July 28 - Karan Johar's directorial return "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani" has a decent opening at the box office. The movie started on a decent note in the morning shows but due to super solid word of mouth, it showed a very good jump in the evening and night shows. ## The early estimates suggest the opening in the range of 11-12 crores net for this Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt-starrer. The opening of the movie in the mid-10s would have been a very good one considering the budget but that is not the case anymore as it won't reach there.## RRKPK is strong in multiplexes but not that strong in single screens which is expected for this kind of genre. However, it was much for the movie to cross the double-digit mark which it has comfortably done. The opening of 11-12 crores net has given RRKPK a chance to grow over the weekend as word of mouth seems to be very positive. ## The movie should show gains on Saturday and Sunday as the 3-day weekend could well be around 40-45 crores net. Mumbai, July 28 - Well-known Bollywood filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari's romantic drama "Bawaal" starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor was supposed to be an experimental love story in the backdrop of World War II but it is turning into a major controversial attempt on this historical chapter.## The film has been accused of trivializing and demeaning the deaths of millions of Jews killed during the Holocaust by using Auschwitz as a metaphor for relationship problems. Many critics in India and internationally have slammed the film for drawing parallels to Jews suffering in Auschwitz camp and dying. ## Produced by Nadiadwala Entertainment, "Bawaal" tells the story of a history teacher who is embarrassed by his new wife's epilepsy. As they travel together to Europe to visit historic second world war sites, they fall in love with each other.## The movie receives a strong rebuke from the Simon Wiesenthal Center (SWC), an NGO dedicated to the well-being of Jews as well as the Holocaust victims. The NGO has issued a statement demanding the removal of the film from Amazon Prime Video which is the exclusive streaming partner of the film. ## "Auschwitz is not a metaphor. It is the quintessential example of Man's capacity for Evil. By having the protagonist in this movie declare that 'Every relationship goes through their Auschwitz', Nitesh Tiwari, trivializes and demeans the memory of 6 million murdered Jews and millions of others who suffered at the hands of Hitler's genocidal regime", SWC said in a statement.## The NGO called on Amazon to remove the movie from its platform and to stop "monetizing" the Holocaust. "If the filmmaker's goal was to gain PR for their movie by reportedly filming a fantasy sequence at the Nazi death camp, he has succeeded. Amazon Prime should stop monetizing Bawaal by immediately removing this banal trivialization of the suffering and systematic murder of millions of victims of the Nazi Holocaust", the statement further read. Prime Video has not responded yet.## "Bawaal" was meant for theatrical release before makers changed their minds and send the movie directly to Amazon Prime Video. CBFC Asks For Major Changes In Akshay Kumar-Starrer 'OMG 2': Report

Mumbai, July 26 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar's social comedy-drama "OMG 2" is scheduled to release on August 11 but the makers are yet to receive the censor certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).## It was recently reported that the Examining Committee (EC) of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) referred the Akshay Kumar-starrer to the Revising Committee (RC) due to its religious content. It has been reported that CBFC is being very careful about the movie as it feels "OMG 2" content is slightly controversial.## Now, according to Bollywood Hungama, the Revising Committee has suggested several changes in the films, which the makers are not comfortable with. "In all, the RC has asked for 20 cuts. These include both visual and audio deletions. On top of it, they have also suggested the makers opt for an adults-only certification", the report says.## The makers, however, are reportedly not ready for these many changes as they believe that it'll affect the essence of the film. They are also not okay with an "A" certificate. After all, they feel that the topic of sex education should be seen by people of all ages. ## The makers have been putting their efforts to get the movie censored as soon as possible so that they could release the trailer and have an on-scheduled release. It is directed by Amit Rai and is produced by Cape of Good Films, Viacom18 Studios, and Wakaoo Films. Mumbai, July 25 - Bollywood action star Tiger Shroff is all set to join filmmaker Rohit Shetty's blockbuster Cop Universe. The maverick director is currently busy with the pre-production work of the highly-anticipated "Singham Again", fronted by Ajay Devgn. ## According to Pinkvilla, Tiger has been roped in to play a cop role in "Singham 3". It will be a cameo appearance for the actor who is the latest entrant in the much talked about cop universe. The "Heropanti" star will be joining the lead actor Ajay Devgn along with Akshay Kumar, and Ranveer Singh who will reprise their roles as Sooryavanshi and Simmba, respectively as extended cameo appearances, in the first schedule.## "It's a schedule of combination dates with Singham, Simmba, and Sooryavanshi. The trio will be shooting by September end/early October and Tiger Shroff too will be joining them for a short 6 to 7-day period", the report says, adding that apart from the schedule of combination dates, Tiger will also be shooting for his personality entry sequence in Singham. ## Tiger, who will get his solo cop movie in Shetty's cop universe in the future, has reportedly allotted 12 days for the shoot for his cameo in "Singham 3" and is ready for more if Shetty demands. It is said that "Singham Again" will lead to a solo movie for Tiger as well as Deepika Padukone who will also be making her debut in this cop universe with the upcoming movie. ## "Singham Again" is the fifth movie in Rohit Shetty's cop universe after "Singham", "Singham Returns", Simmba", and "Sooryavanshi". Two more solo films will be made going further, including a female-led one by Deepika Padukone.
