Prithviraj Sukumaran, Nayanthara's 'Gold' Release Date Locked?

Kochi, November 15 - Prithviraj Sukumaran and Nayanthara's long-awaited Malayalam romantic comedy-drama film Gold with director Alphonse Puthren is finally getting ready to release in theaters. ## According to the latest reliable reports, the much-awaited film will be hitting worldwide theaters on December 1 this year. Mohanlal's 'Monster' Gets Clearance To Release In Bahrain

Kochi, October 18 - A day after the news of the ban on Malayalam superstar Mohanlal's Monster in the entire gulf over LGBTQ content, the Bahrain censor board has reportedly lifted the ban on the movie. ## According to the reports, the Bahrain censor board asked the makers to cut a few scenes in the movie in order to get clearance for the release in the country, to which, the makers agreed to the board's demand and around 13 minutes of the movie have been cut. ## This move has come as a big relief to the makers as Bahrain along with other gulf countries, is the big market for Malayalam movies. It is said that the makers have already applied for re-censorship of the movie in the entire gulf, and just like Bahrain, they are hopeful that other countries will also approve the film with some obvious changes. ## "Monster" is directed by Vysakh from a script written by Udaykrishna. A Big Setback For Mohanlal's Crime Action Thriller 'Monster' Ahead of Release

Kochi, October 17 - Malayalam superstar Mohanlal is gearing up for the release of his much-awaited crime action thriller film Monster, slated for October 21 release. However, just before its worldwide release, "Monster" receives a major setback. ## According to the reports, the Vysakh-directed movie has been banned in the entire GCC countries for allegedly carrying LGBTQ content. This comes as a major shock to the makers as Gulf is the biggest overseas market for Malayalam movies and the ban will severely affect the film's overseas collection. ## However, the makers are still hopeful of getting clearance from Gulf countries to release the movie as they have reportedly decided to re-submit the movie to the censor board after making necessary changes. It will, however, take a little longer for the filmmakers to complete the formalities and they may not be able to release the film in Gulf on the same day as India. ## Meanwhile, the ban on "Monster" will directly benefit Nivin Pauly's upcoming movie "Padavettu" in Gulf countries. Kochi, August 27 - Megastar Mohanlal has been cast to headline Malayalam-Telugu bilingual movie Vrushabha, which will also be dubbed into Hindi, Tamil, and Kannada languages. ## "Vrushabha" is said to be a high-octane drama revolving around a father-son duo. A Telugu actor will be roped in to play the role of the son and announced for the same will be made soon. Prithviraj Sukumaran, who marked his directorial debut with this film, will be directing the sequel as well apart from starring in it. ## The makers of the film, on Wednesday officially announced that they had begun work on "Lucifer 2", which has been titled Empuraan. The pre-production work will begin soon and the movie is expected to go on floors by the end of this year.## Producer Antony Perumbavoor took to Twitter to announce the film with the official title, "The wait is over! Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, the political action thriller film is the second highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time. Sukumaran also played an extended cameo in the film. ## The talks regarding the sequel have been in place since last year and things are now shaping up quickly. Sukumaran had revealed last year that the sequel was supposed to take place last year itself but they were forced to postpone due to the covid-19 pandemic. Kochi, August 13 - Director Jeethu Joseph confirmed last year that Mohanlal-starrer crime thriller Drishyam 3 is in the works and now, the latest reports say that the movie will be announced soon. ## Jeethu Joseph, after the release of Drishyam 2 in February 2021, confirmed that he discussed the climax of Drishyam 3 with Mohanlal and producer Antony Perumbavoor and they liked it. The director, however, said that the movie will not go on floors anytime soon as a lot of work was yet to be done. ## Going by the latest reports, it seems that the movie will be made official in the coming days, however, there is no confirmation whether it will get on the ground this year or not. Mohanlal will return as Georgekutty along with the primary cast of the first two films. ## Drishyam 3 will be the final part of the blockbuster film series. Kochi, March 8 - Mollywood star, Dulquer Salmaan has joined the long list of Malayalam stars to take the non-theatrical route for his upcoming cop crime thriller film, "Salute", which is slated to premiere directly on SonyLiv.## Dulquer Salmaan was one of the few top Malayalam stars left with no direct OTT release yet, and now, he is also joining the likes of superstar Mohanlal, Fahadh Faasil, and Prithviraj Sukumaran in taking the digital route. ## Interestingly, "Salute" was slated for theatrical release in January this year. But due to the 3rd covid-19 wave, the makers postponed it with a promise to release it in theaters only. The Rosshan Andrrews-directed, however, will now be released on SonyLiv on March 18. It was, however, released in Tamil, and Telugu. ## Talking about "Salute", it is written by Bobby-Sanjay and produced by Dulquer Salmaan under his banner Wayfarer Films. The film marks Diana Penty's Malayalam debut as the female lead opposite Salmaan. It also stars Manoj K.
