Los Angeles, July 9 - Marvel Studios's "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" is one of the most loved Marvel movies post the covid-19 pandemic and now, its sequel is in development but it keeps getting pushed back, according to actor Simu Liu. ## Simu Liu, who played the title role of Shang-Chi in the original movie, recently shared an update on the sequel on his Threads account, a new social media app launched by Meta. The actor indulged in a question-answer session.## One of the fans asked the actor to provide an update on the highly-anticipated sequel to his 2021's blockbuster, to which, Liu said that because of the Avengers movies, the sequel keeps getting pushed as it seems to follow the events of upcoming Avengers movies. ## "Was told it would follow Avengers. But that keeps pushing back due to circumstances beyond my control", the actor said and added that he hopes "to have more concrete news to share soon". ## Disney has recently made changes to its release calendar, including pushing back "Avengers: Secret Wars" to May 7, 2027. Corenswet earned widespread acclaim for his breakout performance in Netflix's "The Politician", as well as the celebrated horror indie "Pearl" from A24. ## Rachel Brosnahan, on the other hand, is a well-established actor in Hollywood. She broke out in Netflix's "House of Cards", and starred in Amazon Prime Video's long-running comedy-drama series "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel". The actress recently starred opposite Benedict Cumberbatch in Lionsgate's "The Courier" and director Walter Hill's 2022 western "Dead For a Dollar". ## "Superman: Legacy" will be directed by James Gunn from his own script. Los Angeles, June 22 - The long-range box office projections for the upcoming Tom Cruise-fronted Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One are revealed and they are good enough to make it the biggest opener in the Mission Impossible franchise. ## According to The Hollywood Reporter, MI7 is tracking for a franchise-best opening in the $90 million range at the domestic (North America) box office. On the other hand, Box Office Pro shared their projections that the film will open between $65 million and $80 million in its 3-day domestic opening weekend.## Should MI7 open as projected, it will be the biggest opener in the franchise, beating "Mission: Impossible - Fallout's" $61.2 million opening weekend in 2018. Maverick was released last year and became the highest-grossing film of Tom Cruise by grossing nearly $1.5 million worldwide, including $718.7 million domestically. ## Box Office Pro has more or less the same thing to say that the selling points for "Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One" includes not only the critical and commercial success of its 2018 predecessor, Mission: Impossible – Fallout, but the enormous goodwill earned by star Tom Cruise from last year's Top Gun: Maverick.## The movie is directed by Christopher McQuarrie who also helmed "Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part Two", which is set to open June 28, 2024.
