Superman had the third biggest North American opening of 2025, behind "Lilo & Stitch" ($146 million) and "A Minecraft Movie" ($162 million). ## While Superman had a solid start domestically, the movie was slightly softer than expected at the international box office with $95 million 5-day opening weekend from 78 markets, bringing its global tally to $220 million. It is ahead of "Man of Steel" ($200 million) and behind "Wonder Woman" ($228 million). ## Superman's Biggest Overseas/International Market, and Opening Weekend Collection In India ## The United Kingdom was the strongest international market for the film with $9.8 million opening weekend, followed by Mexico ($8.8 million) and China ($6.6 million). India was also among the top 10 contributors, with the gross collection of 31+ crores ($3.70 million) opening weekend. It was also the number 1 movie at the Indian box office this weekend. ## Superman had the 4th biggest opening weekend for a Hollywood title of 2025 in India, behind "Jurassic World Rebirth", "F1", and "Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning". Box Office: James Gunn's 'Superman' Projected To Debut With $200+ Million Worldwide

Los Angeles, July 9 - When the box office around the globe is slowly returning to normalcy, how can James Gunn's Superman not fly and join the party, having just hit the worldwide tracking ahead of its release this weekend, on July 11, and the early numbers are promising a solid start for DC Universe (DCU). ## Starring David Corenswet as Clark Kent / Superman, alongside Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Superman has been projected to debut with at least, $200 million at the global box office at 60,000 global screens, split evenly between domestic and overseas, according to Deadline. ## While global tracking sets expectations high, there's a noticeable difference in projections between box office analysts and DC Studios. Tracking services predict a domestic opening in the range of $130 million, whereas the studio remains cautiously optimistic, projecting $100+ million opening weekend in North America. ## The higher-end forecast for the movie has a term & condition attached to it, which is critical reception. Fortunately, the initial critics' reviews for the movie are positive, currently sitting at 86% from 147 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, a significant improvement over previous Superman outings. Zack Snyder's "Man of Steel" (2013) received a 57% score, while his "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" (2016) lagged far behind with just 28%. Even Bryan Singer's "Superman Returns" (2006), once considered a respectable entry, sits lower at 72%. ## On the international front, Superman is expected to bring in $100+ million from 78 overseas markets, rounding out an opening weekend total in the range of $200 million to $230 million. If strong word of mouth follows the already positive critical reviews, the final tally could surpass even the most optimistic forecasts. ## Stay tuned...

Box Office: 'F1 Movie' Nears $300 Million Worldwide; Races Past 50 Crore In India

Los Angeles, July 7 - Brad Pitt's high-octane racing sports drama F1: The Movie is continuing to impress at the global box office, and has proved to be a sleeper hit for Apple Studios. Directed by Joseph Kosinski, the movie is nearing the $300 million milestone, marking a major win for original Hollywood content in 2025. ## Domestic, overseas, and worldwide collection ## In 10 days so far, F1 has generated $293.5 million worldwide, including $109.5 million at the domestic (North America) box office and $184 million overseas over 71 markets. The movie was reportedly made on a budget of around $200 million. ## Biggest hit for Apple, and the biggest racing original film ## F1 has become the highest-grossing worldwide grosser for Apple, beating Ridley Scott's "Napoleon" ($221 million worldwide). It is, however, worth noting that Apple's theatrical slate isn't as vast as other studios, as it has only released five so far, also including "Killers of the Flower Moon" ($158 million), "Fly Me to the Moon" ($42 million) and "Argylle" ($96 million). ## F1, meanwhile, has outgrossed the entire worldwide theatrical box office run of Twentieth Century Fox Studios' "Ford v Ferrari" ($225.50 million worldwide) to become the biggest racing original film. "Ford v Ferrari", however, is currently ahead of "F1" in the domestic market after 10 days. ## What is India collection of F1 movie ## In India, where the love for Formula 1 is steadily rising, the film has managed to cross ₹50 crore gross, a remarkable feat for a non-franchise international release. With strong word of mouth and continued interest from metro audiences, F1 put up a solid performance in the second weekend to gross around 18 crores, dropping just 30% from the opening frame. ## The film has not just sustained its momentum but accelerated over the weekdays — a rare occurrence in the current box office landscape. Released on June 28, F1 enjoyed a powerful opening weekend of ₹25.50 crore gross in India, and it has maintained a steady hold across its second week. After 10 days, it has managed to gross around 60.50 crores ($7+ million) in the country, making it a solid success for the involved parties. ## About the movie ## The film stars Brad Pitt as a retired driver making a sensational comeback, and features real F1 circuits, actual race footage, and cameos from top drivers, all of which have thrilled motorsport fans. The combination of Hollywood star power, top-tier direction, and authentic F1 appeal is fueling the movie’s strong theatrical run. ## As it edges closer to the $300M benchmark, F1 is not only a commercial victory but also a potential awards-season contender in the technical categories, especially for sound design, editing, and cinematography, based on the reception from critics. ## Stay tuned...
