Box Office: 'F1 Movie' Nears $300 Million Worldwide; Races Past 50 Crore In India
Los Angeles, July 7 - Brad Pitt's high-octane racing sports drama F1: The Movie is continuing to impress at the global box office, and has proved to be a sleeper hit for Apple Studios. Directed by Joseph Kosinski, the movie is nearing the $300 million milestone, marking a major win for original Hollywood content in 2025. ## Domestic, overseas, and worldwide collection ## In 10 days so far, F1 has generated $293.5 million worldwide, including $109.5 million at the domestic (North America) box office and $184 million overseas over 71 markets. The movie was reportedly made on a budget of around $200 million. ## Biggest hit for Apple, and the biggest racing original film ## F1 has become the highest-grossing worldwide grosser for Apple, beating Ridley Scott's "Napoleon" ($221 million worldwide). It is, however, worth noting that Apple's theatrical slate isn't as vast as other studios, as it has only released five so far, also including "Killers of the Flower Moon" ($158 million), "Fly Me to the Moon" ($42 million) and "Argylle" ($96 million). ## F1, meanwhile, has outgrossed the entire worldwide theatrical box office run of Twentieth Century Fox Studios' "Ford v Ferrari" ($225.50 million worldwide) to become the biggest racing original film. "Ford v Ferrari", however, is currently ahead of "F1" in the domestic market after 10 days. ## What is India collection of F1 movie ## In India, where the love for Formula 1 is steadily rising, the film has managed to cross ₹50 crore gross, a remarkable feat for a non-franchise international release. With strong word of mouth and continued interest from metro audiences, F1 put up a solid performance in the second weekend to gross around 18 crores, dropping just 30% from the opening frame. ## The film has not just sustained its momentum but accelerated over the weekdays — a rare occurrence in the current box office landscape. Released on June 28, F1 enjoyed a powerful opening weekend of ₹25.50 crore gross in India, and it has maintained a steady hold across its second week. After 10 days, it has managed to gross around 60.50 crores ($7+ million) in the country, making it a solid success for the involved parties. ## About the movie ## The film stars Brad Pitt as a retired driver making a sensational comeback, and features real F1 circuits, actual race footage, and cameos from top drivers, all of which have thrilled motorsport fans.
