Akshay Kumar's 'Housefull 5' To Go On Floors In January 2024

Mumbai, November 8 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar and filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala reunite for the fifth instalment of the comic caper "Housefull". The movie was announced recently with Akshay and Riteish Deshmukh in the lead while Tarun Mansukhani will direct it. ## Now, according to a report by Pinkvilla, Housefull 5 will go on floors in January next year. The much-awaited comedy entertainer is currently in the pre-production work as the core plot of the movie is locked. Akshay and Sajid are working together to take the movie on floors from January 15, 2024. ## "Housefull 5" is easily one of the most expensive Indian movies and the costliest film in the franchise with a budget of over 350 crores. Mumbai, November 8 - The highest-grossing Indian movie of 2023 Jawan starring superstar Shah Rukh Khan, debuted on Netflix with a staggering viewership. The movie grossed over 1150 crores at the worldwide box office during its theatrical run and was released on OTT after 8 weeks on November 2nd with an extended version. ## Directed by Atlee Kumar, the Hindi version of the action thriller scored 14.9 million viewing hours from 5.2 million views during its opening weekend of November 2 - November 5. It was the 4th most non-English movie worldwide on Netflix during the week of October 30 - November 5. Mumbai, November 7 - The Bollywood industry was going through the darkest phase ever and had no clue about what was the way forward back in 2021 after the COVID-19 pandemic. Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, the comedy-drama is the spiritual sequel to the 2019 film "Dream Girl". ## "Dream Girl 2" was released on October 25 this year amid some expectations of being the successor of a well-received critical and commercial film. However, the movie has done its job and performed much better than what the trade was expecting before the release. ## Directed by Mrigdeep Singh Lamba, the third instalment of the hit franchise has completed 4 weeks in theatres since its release on September 28. The movie has scored approximately 95.25 crores net and will likely score another 50 lakhs more to finish around 96 crores final net collection.## "Fukrey 3" opened to a decent collection before putting in a good opening week of 66 crores. At that time, it looked like it would reach 100 crore net but to competition with new releases and the mixed word of mouth, the movie failed to carry the same momentum into the next weeks. ## Despite not being able to enter the coveted 100 crores net club, "Fukrey 3" is a box office hit and maintains the 100% success ratio of the franchise. Tiger was hoping to make a strong comeback with this movie but now, it should be a wake call for him to pick the right subject. The lifetime collection of the film is heading for below 15 crores net which is disastrous. ## Yaariyan 2, which was released on the same day as Ganapath, met the same fate with the below-par first-week collection. Unlike Ganapath, there were hardly any expectations from this romantic drama film, but even by that standard, the collection is really poor because "Yaariyan 2" is a sequel to a hit film. ## Directed by Radhika Rao, and Vinay Sapru, "Yaariyan 2" scored just 2.75 crores net collection in its first week and the lifetime is heading towards finishing below 5 crores.
