Kaithi is one among the finest action thriller flick where the audiences are emotionally connected to the script. It is evident that Director Lokesh Kanagaraj will reach the "Pinnacle of Success" much earlier than the so called traditional action film directors. Kaithi will be an important film in Karthi's career. We cannot imagine any other actor in the prisoner character and he score well from the first frame till the climax scene.
Director set the perfect stage right from the opening scene. First 10 mins he reveal the plot with all the main characters and set the audience mood to experience a racy action thriller. Though the time taken to establish each character is long, it is required for the audience to understand the plot deeper.
Casts plays a vital role for an action flick and Kaithi had the perfect cast to elevate the film to the next level. Infact, supporting characters with less than 5 mins screen space also carefully crafted and executed well to near perfection. Karthi's beefed up look will remind us Paruthiveeran but within no time he establish the character with subtle variation and we only see the Lorry Driver Dilli on screen.
Naren proved his ability on screen and plays a very convincing cop role and he share the screen space with Karthi throughout the film. Both the actors go hand in hand for a tight screenplay and transfer the tension straight to the audience mind during the action sequences.
Apart from the main lead characters there are bunch of supporting roles played in this film. Surprisingly, Actor George steals the show as PC and there is some mass element factor built around his character which will surprise you in the second half. All the bad ass antagonists well played the character but Arjun Dass with his base voice leads the show as top villan. Karthi's daughter character is also written well and it carries an emotional quotient on back of the mind while watching the film.
Dilli as a lorry cleaner relieves with subtle one liner comedy which goes well with the script.Technically this film is very strong in terms of lighting and sound mixing. Don't miss to watch it on Dolby Atmos to experience the adrenaline tension of watching a perfect one night survival action thriller. Sathyan Sooryan the man behind the camera deserve a huge round of applause for his unmatched quality of cinematography. The entire film was shot in night effect without using the blue lights and it does not strain our eyes at all. Lighting was picture perfect for the action scenes and chasing sequence. Sam
CS music plays a critical role in this film and all the mass moment scenes are elevated through rock genre BGM. Karthi's single take flashback scene and climax scene will melt your heart with extraordinary background score. Stunt choreography also deserve a special mention as all the fight sequences are 'Larger than life' kind and Karthi makes it believable. Releasing on Diwali along with Bigil is not easy. Initially, for the first 2 days very less screens were alotted for Kaithi but after seeing the public response now the theater owners are giving equal screens for Bigil and Kaithi. In terms of making and content I would definitely rate high for Kaithi over Bigil.
Overall:-Kaithi is one of the finest action thriller in the recent times. No songs, No Heroine and No comedy and the film breaks all the ground rules of action films and set a new benchmark so don't miss this racy action thriller in theatre.
