Box Office: Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani Second Day/First Saturday Early Estimates

Mumbai, July 29 - After a decent opening day of 11.10 crores net, Karan Johar's "Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani" witnesses a solid jump of over 40% today, on its second at the domestic box office. Positive word of mouth comes into play today as it scores one of the biggest second-day jumps post the covid-19 pandemic for a major Bollywood release. ## The early estimates suggest the second-day collection in the range of 15.50-16.50 crores, which takes the total net collection to around 27 crores in two days. The movie is strong in multiplexes which witnesses a solid jump while non-multiplexes also show a minor improvement over opening-day sales. ## RRKPK needed a big jump today after not so strong opening day and the makers will be happy with the jump. The best-performing city of the movie is Delhi while it is also collecting well in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Mumbai. ## The film should show further jump tomorrow on Sunday, though the jump wouldn't be as big as today. Still, a 17-18 crores net collection is something makers would be hoping for which will take the opening weekend to around 43-45 crores net.## Stay tuned...

Box Office: Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani Opening Day/First Friday Early Estimates

Mumbai, July 28 - Karan Johar's directorial return "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani" has a decent opening at the box office. The movie started on a decent note in the morning shows but due to super solid word of mouth, it showed a very good jump in the evening and night shows. ## The early estimates suggest the opening in the range of 11-12 crores net for this Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt-starrer. The opening of the movie in the mid-10s would have been a very good one considering the budget but that is not the case anymore as it won't reach there.## RRKPK is strong in multiplexes but not that strong in single screens which is expected for this kind of genre. However, it was much for the movie to cross the double-digit mark which it has comfortably done. The opening of 11-12 crores net has given RRKPK a chance to grow over the weekend as word of mouth seems to be very positive. ## The movie should show gains on Saturday and Sunday as the 3-day weekend could well be around 40-45 crores net. Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor's 'Bawaal' Hits Major Controversy

Mumbai, July 28 - Well-known Bollywood filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari's romantic drama "Bawaal" starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor was supposed to be an experimental love story in the backdrop of World War II but it is turning into a major controversial attempt on this historical chapter.## The film has been accused of trivializing and demeaning the deaths of millions of Jews killed during the Holocaust by using Auschwitz as a metaphor for relationship problems. Many critics in India and internationally have slammed the film for drawing parallels to Jews suffering in Auschwitz camp and dying. ## Produced by Nadiadwala Entertainment, "Bawaal" tells the story of a history teacher who is embarrassed by his new wife's epilepsy. As they travel together to Europe to visit historic second world war sites, they fall in love with each other.## The movie receives a strong rebuke from the Simon Wiesenthal Center (SWC), an NGO dedicated to the well-being of Jews as well as the Holocaust victims. The NGO has issued a statement demanding the removal of the film from Amazon Prime Video which is the exclusive streaming partner of the film. ## "Auschwitz is not a metaphor. It is the quintessential example of Man's capacity for Evil. By having the protagonist in this movie declare that 'Every relationship goes through their Auschwitz', Nitesh Tiwari, trivializes and demeans the memory of 6 million murdered Jews and millions of others who suffered at the hands of Hitler's genocidal regime", SWC said in a statement.## The NGO called on Amazon to remove the movie from its platform and to stop "monetizing" the Holocaust. "If the filmmaker's goal was to gain PR for their movie by reportedly filming a fantasy sequence at the Nazi death camp, he has succeeded. Amazon Prime should stop monetizing Bawaal by immediately removing this banal trivialization of the suffering and systematic murder of millions of victims of the Nazi Holocaust", the statement further read. Prime Video has not responded yet.## "Bawaal" was meant for theatrical release before makers changed their minds and send the movie directly to Amazon Prime Video. CBFC Asks For Major Changes In Akshay Kumar-Starrer 'OMG 2': Report

Mumbai, July 26 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar's social comedy-drama "OMG 2" is scheduled to release on August 11 but the makers are yet to receive the censor certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).## It was recently reported that the Examining Committee (EC) of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) referred the Akshay Kumar-starrer to the Revising Committee (RC) due to its religious content. It has been reported that CBFC is being very careful about the movie as it feels "OMG 2" content is slightly controversial.## Now, according to Bollywood Hungama, the Revising Committee has suggested several changes in the films, which the makers are not comfortable with. "In all, the RC has asked for 20 cuts. These include both visual and audio deletions. On top of it, they have also suggested the makers opt for an adults-only certification", the report says.## The makers, however, are reportedly not ready for these many changes as they believe that it'll affect the essence of the film. They are also not okay with an "A" certificate. After all, they feel that the topic of sex education should be seen by people of all ages. ## The makers have been putting their efforts to get the movie censored as soon as possible so that they could release the trailer and have an on-scheduled release. It is directed by Amit Rai and is produced by Cape of Good Films, Viacom18 Studios, and Wakaoo Films. Mumbai, July 19 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar would be teaming up with "Pati Patni Aur Woh" director Mudassar Aziz for a comedy-drama film. The movie is reportedly titled "Khel Khel Mein" and has Tapsee Pannu and Vaani Kapoor as the female leads. ## According to Pinkvilla, "Khel Khel Mein" is the official Hindi adaptation of a blockbuster Italian movie "Perfect Strangers" (2016). It was a critically as well as commercially successful movie, grossing over $32 million, and has already been remade in more than 20 countries. ## "Mudassar Aziz has been eager to make an Indian version of it for a long time and has adapted the screenplay in a desi style to suit the sensibilities of Indian audiences", the report says, adding that the shoot will commence in October this year and it will be shot in a two-month straight schedule in the UK. ## The movie was supposed to go on floors early this year but the production got delayed due to Akshay's other commitments.
