Dhurandhar 2 Sets New Benchmark with 8 Days Over ₹40 Cr; Pushpa 2, Baahubali 2, Jawan and Animal Follow
Box office records are usually measured by opening day, opening weekend or lifetime collections, but one of the strongest indicators of a film's box office strength is how long it can sustain blockbuster-level daily collections. In the Hindi box office context, maintaining ₹40 crore net per day is considered a blockbuster-level benchmark, and only a handful of films in history have managed to cross this number for multiple consecutive days.
With Dhurandhar 2 maintaining ₹40+ crore Hindi net for 8 consecutive days, the film has now entered an elite list of Indian blockbusters that sustained massive daily collections for an extended period. In fact, the 8-day Hindi net streak puts Dhurandhar 2 at the very top when compared to other major blockbusters like Pushpa 2, Baahubali 2, Jawan and Animal.
Pushpa: The Rule (Pushpa 2) maintained ₹40+ crore Hindi net collections for 5 consecutive days from Day 1 to Day 5, excluding premiere shows. The film had a massive opening and strong weekend hold, but collections dropped below ₹40 crore Hindi net after the first Monday, which ended its streak at five days.
Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, which was the biggest Indian blockbuster for many years, crossed the ₹40 crore Hindi net mark for its first four days. The film collected above ₹40 crore Hindi net from Day 1 to Day 4 before weekday drops brought the daily Hindi numbers below the ₹40 crore mark.
Jawan also had a very strong extended opening weekend in the Hindi market, collecting above ₹40 crore Hindi net for its first four days. However, like most films, the weekday drop after the weekend meant that the ₹40 crore Hindi net streak lasted only for the extended opening weekend period.
Animal, powered by strong word of mouth, also maintained the ₹40 crore Hindi net level for four days, including a strong Monday hold, before collections dropped further on the following days.

The table clearly shows the difference between opening weekend performance and sustained weekday performance in the Hindi market. Most films like Pushpa 2, Baahubali 2, Jawan and Animal crossed ₹40 crore mainly during their opening weekend and early weekdays, but the Hindi net collections dropped below ₹40 crore after the first Monday or Tuesday. Dhurandhar 2, however, continued to collect above ₹40 crore Hindi net even during the weekdays and into the second Thursday, which is why its streak extended to eight days, significantly higher than the other films in the comparison.
When we compare all these films, Dhurandhar 2 clearly stands out because maintaining ₹40+ crore Hindi net not just over a weekend but across weekdays for multiple days is extremely difficult. Weekend numbers are driven by advance booking and opening hype, but weekday collections depend heavily on word of mouth, repeat audience and sustained occupancy levels.
This is what makes the 8-day ₹40 crore Hindi net streak particularly significant. It indicates not just a big opening, but sustained box office momentum across the first full week and beyond. Very few films in the Hindi box office have managed to sustain blockbuster-level daily collections for such a long continuous period.
The comparison also highlights an important box office trend. Many films open very big, but sustaining high collections after the weekend is what separates big openers from historic blockbusters. In that sense, the ₹40 crore Hindi net streak is a better indicator of box office strength than just the opening day number.
With Dhurandhar 2 now achieving 8 consecutive days above ₹40 crore Hindi net, the film has set a new benchmark for sustained daily collections in the Hindi box office. Whether future films can match or surpass this streak will be an interesting trend to watch, but as of now, Dhurandhar 2 has firmly placed itself among the strongest sustained performers in the Hindi box office in recent years.
