All-Time Box Office Blockbuster 'Pushpa 2 - The Rule' Scored 5.8 Million Views In The Opening Weekend On Netflix

Mumbai, February 5 - The all-time box office blockbuster Pushpa 2 - The Rule reloaded version has scored a good viewership on its streaming debut at Netflix. The Allu Arjun-fronted Pan India movie has almost finished its box office run and recently started streaming in all versions with added runtime. ## The action drama debuted on Netflix on January 30, and in the opening weekend, it generated 5.8 million views across languages. This is the third-biggest viewership debut for a post-theatrical Indian film since 2024, after Fighter (5.9 million) and Animal (6.2 million).## Pushpa 2 was the second most-watched non-English title globally on Netflix during the week of January 27 - February 2. It was the number 1 movie in 7 countries, including India, Mauritius, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Pakistan, and Bangladesh and the top 10 in 15 countries in its debut week.## Netflix acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights of Pushpa 2 - The Rule for a massive price of 270 crores for all versions, that too without getting the benefit of a short theatrical window. While the opening weekend numbers look decent, given how Indian films have faired on streaming, it can be called underwhelming with the high cost involved. ## The initial reception for the movie seems to be ok, but it needs to be seen how it goes in the coming days. Hyderabad, January 12 - Superstar Ram Charan's political action drama Game Changer has an underwhelming first weekend at the domestic box office where the movie failed to score any growth on Sunday owing to stiff competition and mixed to negative word of mouth. ## According to the early estimates, Game Changer has minted a disappointing around 8 crore gross in Telugu states on Sunday, dropping around 35% from Saturday. In other Southern states, the movie has scored an estimated 3 crore gross. ## The Hindi version is holding well, owing to the better audience reception, and is proving to be the only saving grace for the movie so far. Hyderabad, January 11 - Telugu superstar Ram Charan's political action drama Game Changer, which was released on January 10, took a good start at the domestic box office with over 60 crores gross considering the mixed word of mouth, though it failed to meet the expectations. ## On its second day (first Saturday), the Shankar's directorial venture is witnessing a drop of over 50% which is a bit harsh even by the standards of any big Telugu film which tend to drop after the opening day. The word-of-mouth effect can be seen in day 2's collection, especially in South Indian states. ## According to the early estimates, GC is expected to gross around 13-15 crores in Telugu states, dropping over 60% from the opening day. In Karnataka, the film also dropped by around 50% for an estimated 2.25 crores gross, while in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, it is expected to gross around 2-2.25 crores on the second day. ## The Hindi version of the film surprised on the first day and it remained the best-performing on Saturday with little to no drop as it minted around 7-7.50 crores net on day 2. Despite the mixed reception, the film managed to take the biggest solo opening for RC in all major areas. ## According to the early estimates, Game Changer is expected to gross around 45-50 crores in Telugu states which is a very good start. The previous biggest solo opening of RC in AP/TG was Vinaya Vidheya Rama which grossed around 33 crores back in 2019. ## In Karnataka, GC is estimated to gross 4-5 crores, followed by around 2.50 crores gross in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
