Mumbai, October 11 - The release prospect for the Bollywood film industry has changed in the last couple of weeks. Movies that were supposed to be heading for direct-to-digital release are now gearing up for the theatrical release. One such film is Salman Khan and Ayush Sharma starrer "Antim: The Final Truth".## "Antim: The Final Truth", the gangster-cop drama was earlier reportedly sold for direct OTT release. However, after theaters in Maharashtra were permitted to operate from October 22, the makers changed their plans and now opting for theatrical release. The film was in line for its possible Diwali release. However, the movie is now scheduled to hit the big screens on November 26 after director Manjrekar filmed few more scenes on Salman. ## Salman, who recently returned from Tiger 3 shoot, has been shooting for a few extra scenes. A source told mid-day, "After returning from the international schedule of Tiger 3, Salman filmed some solo dialogue scenes between October 4 and 6. The decision to add more sequences, featuring the actor, was taken jointly by Salman and Mahesh after seeing the rushes of the gangster-cop drama". ## After the latest development, "Antim" will most probably be clashing with John Abraham starrer "Satyameva Jayate 2", which has already been confirmed to release on November 26. Both the films are masala entertainers with a mass audience in mind, hence, it will be an interesting battle at the box office. SMJ2 has an edge over Antim as this John Abraham fronted has been one of the most-awaited Hindi films. Anti, on the other hand, is not a complete Salman Khan film. The actor is playing an extended cameo in the movie which is the official remake of the 2018 Marathi film Mulshi Pattern.## Salman Khan plays a Sikh cop in the film while Ayush Sharma plays a gangster. South Indian actress Pragya Jaiswal is reportedly playing the female lead opposite Salman Khan in the movie. It is produced by Salman Khan Films. SMJ2 is the sequel of the 2018 film Satyameva Jayate. Mumbai, October 10 - James Bond "No Time To Die" opened with $56 million at the North America box office, very much in line with the industry's early box office projection of $55M-$60M. Daniel Craig's final outing as 007, the movie scored the fifth-best domestic opening during the covid-19 pandemic. ## The pre-ticket sales of "No Time To Die" had better than "Venom - Let There Be Carnage" and the Hollywood industry insider had hoped to cross $60 million in its domestic launch. However, it was always going to be an uphill task for the movie as unlike the recent Hollywood pics, the Bond movie has always been fueled in large part by moviegoers 35 and older. ## It was still a good start for the Bond pic as recent reports suggest that the movie-going confidence is getting back among the older audiences, thanks to the rapid vaccination against the virus. According to The Hollywood Reporter, 57 percent of ticket buyers were over the age of 35, including 36 percent over 45 years old. The male audience is turning into large numbers as 64 percent of ticket buyers are male. ## Meanwhile, despite the above par opening domestic weekend, "No Time To Die" continues to score big in the international market. The Bond pic stormed past $300 million worldwide after grossing an estimated $89.5M internationally in the second weekend, taking its total overseas collection to $257M. The total global box office of No Time To Die stands at $313 million, without China, where the movie is scheduled to debut on October 29.## On the other hand, Marvel Studios' "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Three Rings" has crossed $400 million worldwide and becomes the third Hollywood pic to achieve the milestone during the pandemic. The Simu Liu-fronted pic stands at $401.6 million globally, including $212.5 million domestically and $189.1 million overseas. ## "Shang-Chi" is the only film to reach $200 million at the North American box office during the 18-months of covid-19. It also surpassed fellow Marvel movie "Black Widow" to go past $400M worldwide. He was up against Prakash Raj and defeated him by a huge margin of over 400 votes. ## There was a huge excitement for MAA elections this year like never before as it is a General Elections for state and Central governments. Telugu news channels have noted that Vishnu's father Mohan Babu played a huge role in Vishnu's victory. Hyderabad, October 10 - Power Star Pawan Kalyan, Megastar Chiranjeevi as well as other leading Tollywood actors including Nagarjuna, Balakrishna, Ram Charan, among others cast their votes on Sunday (October 10) to elect new office-bearers of the Movie Artists Association (MAA), the apex body of the Telugu film industry. ## MAA members were voting to elect a 26-member executive comprising the president, general secretary, two joint secretaries, treasurer, and 18 committee members. Actor-producer Vishnu Manchu and actor Prakash Raj are the two contenders battling for the post of MAA president. ## Polling, which began at 8 AM at the Jubilee Hills Public School, was progressing smoothly. It was to end at 2 PM but was extended by an hour by the election officer, Krishna Mohan. There are a total of 925 MAA members and out of them, 883 members are eligible to cast their votes. Of them, 665 had cast their ballots. The counting is likely to continue till 8 PM, when the results are slated to be declared.## Retired employees of the Telangana Cooperative Society made elaborate arrangements for the polling in adherence with Covid-19 protocols. As many as 50 policemen and women were deployed as part of the security measures. The two parties have had a friendly camaraderie on the polling day as the two contenders battling for the post of MAA president shook hands and embraced each other to declare that they are all one. ## Actor-politician Pawan Kalyan was one of the first to cast his votes. Talking to reporters, the Jana Sena president declined to name the panel he votes for. He said MAA elections would have no bearing on the friendship between his brother Chiranjeevi and Mohan Babu. Pawan said the film industry will not split due to MAA polls.## Megastar and MAA founding president Chiranjeevi said he had cast his vote as per his conscience. He said that whenever the MAA elections were held, the same acrimony was witnessed and called for putting an end to it. Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi's brother Naga Babu told reporters that he cast his vote for the Prakash Raj panel. ## Genelia D'Souza, who had been staying away from Telugu films following her marriage to Bollywood actor Ritesh Deshmukh, also came to Hyderabad to cast her vote. Mumbai, October 9 - Filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri has been on a mission to reveal the hard-hitting truth of Indian history through his filmmaking. The National award-winning director's "The Tashkent Files" was about the mysterious death of former Indian prime minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. The movie got a positive response from the audiences and it was declared a box office hit.## Vivek Agnihotri is now gearing up for the release of the second film in the series "The Kashmir Files", which tells the story of the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits. The film has been ready to release for a long time now. There were reports that "The Kashmir Files" will skip theatrical release in order to make it a direct-to-digital release. However, Agnihotri has now confirmed that it will have only a theatrical release first as they waited for a whole one year to release in theaters. ## Agnihotri was responding to a Twitter user who is eagerly waiting to see the film. It is produced by Vivek Agnihotri, Pallavi Joshi, Abhishek Agarwal, and Sarahna. ## The movie is written by Agnihotri, who finished the script of Kashmir files after extensive research on the genocide of Kashmiri Hindus in 1990. He was stationed at an undisclosed location in the Himalayas to complete the script. On 14 August 2019, Agnihotri announced the film with its first look poster saying, "the film will be an honest investigation into one of the biggest human tragedies".## Stay tuned...
