Los Angeles, April 21 - Sony Pictures has pushed back the release dates of its much-anticipated superhero movies. The studio, on Wednesday, announced that "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse", which was slated for theatrical release on October 7 this year, will now open on June 2, 2023. Instead, Sony's live-action/CGI musical comedy Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile — based on the book series by Bernard Waber, will now debut on Oct. 7 from November 18, 2022. ## "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" is the first of a two-part sequel to 2018's "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse", which pushed the boundaries of animation and collected a best animated Oscar. It is easily the most-anticipated Spider-Man animated movie. ## Meanwhile, the second part of "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse", has landed a release date of March 29, 2024. The decision has come in the light of facing backlash from his fans who consider him their idol. ## Akshay, who was the latest Bollywood star after Ajay Devgn and Shah Rukh Khan to join Vimal promos for their cardamom products. It is a brand that also sells tobacco products. His decision was not well received by fans. However, Akshay clarifies in his statement that what he endorse was not tobacco. ## He began his statement by saying "sorry" to his fans. "I would like to apologise to you, all my fans and well-wishers. Your reaction over the past few days has deeply affected me. Opening Day Box Office Prediction Of Shahid Kapoor's 'Jersey'

Mumbai, April 20 - Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor is readying for the release of his long-awaited sports drama movie, Jersey, on April 22. The Hindi remake of the Telugu hit of the same name, Jersey, was supposed to release on April 14 itself but was postponed at the 11th hour to avoid a direct clash with Yash-fronted KGF Chapter 2', which is going all guns blazing at the box office. ## Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, Jersey also stars Mrunal Thakur. The movie carries a lot of expectations as far as the box office is concerned, however, it won't be easy for it to have a smooth outing. It might have avoided a direct clash with KGF 2, but, things are still not in favor of it. ## KGF Chapter 2 is running riot at the Hindi box office, and will easily be able to retain a significant number of screens in the second week as well. Jersey, on the other hand, is expected to release on around 2000 screens. While these are enough screens for any mid-budget Bollywood film to take a healthy start, the same can't be said for Jersey, which is having low advance booking numbers with only two days to release. ## On any other day, Jersey could have taken the opening of 15-20 crores, keeping Shahid Kapoor's stardom. However, with KGF 2 being the first choice of moviegoers, Jersey, might reduce to the opening of 5-7 crores on the first day, which will be considered a decent start. The advance of the film till April 20 is around 70 lakh, which is very low. The makers are looking very confident about their product, and if it meets with the audience's expectation, then it could build upon that and score a healthy weekend of around 25-27 crores.## Shahid Kapoor's last film, Kabir Singh, was a massive blockbuster and it scored over 370 crores worldwide. However, it was released during the pre-covid time and there was no KGF-sque movie to hamper its chances. The makers would still be hoping for the film to fair well at the box office, that is the reason they didn't send the movie to digital way despite getting big offers. ## "Jersey" is produced by Aman Gill, Dil Raju, Suryadevara Naga Vamsi, and Allu Aravind under the banners of Brat Films, Sithara Entertainments, Dil Raju Production, and Allu Entertainment. The film is inspired by the true event of the Jet Airways Doha to Kochi flight 9W 555, a Boeing 737–800 aircraft that had a narrow escape on 18 August 2015, after facing difficulties landing at the Cochin International Airport due to bad weather and unclear visibility at 5:45 in the morning.## The "Tanhaji" actor will be sharing screen space with Legendary Amitabh Bachchan once again in the movie apart from reuniting with Rakul Preet Singh. Scheduled to release on April 29 during the Eid weekend, "Runway 34" will be clashing with Tiger Shroff's "Heropanti 2" at the box office. ## The clash between "Runway 34" and "Heropanti 2" will be the first major box office clash between two outright Hindi films. Ajay Devgn, however, is looking cool as he feels that both movies are different and have their own set of audiences.
