Marvel Studios 'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' Banned in Saudi Arabia

Mumbai, April 23 - Marvel Studios' upcoming highly-anticipated "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" has been banned in Saudi Arabia, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It has also been banned in Egypt and Kuwait, which hasn't been confirmed yet. ## According to reports, the decision of banning "Doctor Strange 2" in the Middle East" nation is associated with its LGBTQ issues, as it is introducing the character America Chavez (played by Xochitl Gomez) who, as per her portrayal in the comics, is gay. The movie, however, has not been released yet and no one has reviewed it yet. ## The follow-up to the hit 2016 superhero film starring Benedict Cumberbatch was due to be released across the Gulf on May 5 as part of its global rollout. However, it was always going to be a daunting task to release the film in the Middle East as homosexuality is officially illegal across the Gulf, films that feature any LGBTQ references or issues often fail to get past censors.## Earlier, Marvel Studios' "Eternals" by director Chloé Zhao, was also banned in some of the Gulf countries, including Saudi Arabia because of the inclusion of a same-gender couple in the film and the MCU's first gay superhero. The movie, however, was released in the UAE with an edited version. ## Directed by Sam Raimi, "Doctor Strange" is set after the events of "Spider-Man: No Way Home". In the film, Strange and his allies travel into the multiverse to face a mysterious new adversary. It stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange, alongside Elizabeth Olsen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Rachel McAdams.## In India, the movie will be released on May 6, in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. Mumbai, April 22 - Prashanth Neel has outdone SS Rajamouli at the Hindi box office in the latest blockbuster battle between KGF Chapter 2 and RRR. The Yash-fronted period action drama film, KGF 2 has smashed an all-time record by scoring 268.63 crores net in the opening week in Hindi. ## The film has scored the biggest ever extended 8-days opening week in the history of Hindi cinema. Despite the dubbed version, KGF 2's collections in Hindi are eye-popping, which, of course, were expected considering the massive buzz it was carrying before the release.## The mind-blowing numbers of KGF 2 have blown away SS Rajamouli's RRR, which is also playing in theaters currently. This Jr. NTR/Ram Charan-fronted movie has scored 258.51 crores net in Hindi in the first 28 days, and KGF 2 has already surpassed these numbers in just 8 days and becomes the 13th biggest movie in Hindi. RRR is eying its run finish around 270 crores, which will be a fantastic run for the makers. ## The Telugu period action drama film minted 14.72 crores net in Hindi over its 4th week, which is the 7th biggest fourth week total ever. Chennai, April 21 - Thalapthy Vijay's action thriller, "Beast" has crossed the 200 crores gross at the worldwide box office. The movie, however, is declining drastically at the domestic box office after the long 5-day opening weekend. ## Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the movie was released on April 13 and scored 112.3 crores net in the first 5 days. Once the opening ended, the movie plumbed big time and minted only 7.95 crores net in the next 3 days, pushing the domestic net cume to 120.25 crores in 8 days. ## At the overseas box office, "Beast" has made 60.1 crores gross, helping the worldwide cume to go past the 200 crores mark. It has become Thalapathy Vijay's 5th movie to reach the landmark box office figure after "Bigil", "Mersal", "Sarkar", and "Master". ## Meanwhile, despite the so-so outing at the domestic box office, "Beast" has become the first film of 2022 to score 100 crores gross in Tamil Nadu state. It has made 101 crores in the home state, followed by 12.92 crores in Karnataka, 11.96 crores in AP/TG, 10.5 crores in Kerala, and 3.55 crores in the rest of India. ## The original Tamil version has been the best performing for this Sun Pictures production with 110 crores net. Mumbai, April 21 - Vidyut Jammwal and Shivaleeka Oberoi's action thriller film, Khuda Haafiz: Chapter II – Agni Pariksha, has set a release date in theaters. The first part of the film was released directly on Disney Plus Hotstar in August 2020 and was a successful outing on the digital platform. ## Khuda Haafiz Chapter 1 created a decent buzz and makers thought it will be a good idea to bring its successor to the theaters. Set during the financial crisis of 2007–2008, the film is inspired by true events and follows Sameer Chaudhary, a young man who races against time to rescue his kidnapped wife Nargis from flesh traders.## Chapter 2, which is slated to release on June 17, 2022, in theaters, is expected to be more intense packed with action, that's why it has been named, Agni Pariksha. It is written and directed by Faruk Kabir and produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak under the banner of Panorama Studios in association with Zee Studios and Cinergy. ## Vidyut Jammwal took to Twitter and announced the release date of the film with a new poster. KGF Chapter 2 Races Past 700 Crores Worldwide Gross; Becomes The 8th Biggest Indian Film

Mumbai, April 21 - Yash-starrer KGF Chapter 2 has breached the 700 crores worldwide gross mark in just 7 days and becomes only the 8th Indian movie to achieve the feat. This is the second Indian movie to gross 700+ worldwide within a month, after SS Rajamouli's RRR, which currently stands at approx 1100 crores. ## The Prashanth Neel-directed movie has broken several records during the first seven days of its release. It has scored nearly three times more than the previous highest-grossing Kannada movie, KGF Chapter 1, which had grossed 238 crores worldwide. Chapter 2 has minted 702 crores through the first Wednesday (7th day). ## The Hindi version of this period action drama film has reached past 250 crores (255.05 cr.) net mark, which is the fastest ever in Hindi. It has also grossed 300 crores in Hindi at the domestic box office.
