Bengaluru, April 14 - The Indian cinema is thriving like never before after the covid-19 pandemic, and there is a lot to watch going forward. The recently released "RRR", directed by SS Rajamouli, became the 3rd Indian movie to gross over 1000 crores worldwide, and now, there is one more film that might be the next on the list, is "KGF: Chapter 2". ## Directed by Prashanth Neel, "KGF2", has been the most-awaited Indian title and it has lived up to the hype and opened to massive numbers at the domestic box office. Meanwhile, the blockbuster talk of this latest period action drama film has raised the anticipation to sky-high of Neel's next Pan-India biggie, "Salaar". ## "Salaar", which stars Prabhas in the title role, is slated to release next year. Prabhas is described as the most violent man in the film that has completed 30% of the entire shoot. The filming of "Salaar" will resume in May, meanwhile, the makers will also be releasing the hugely-awaited teaser of the film later in the next month. ## Prashanth Neel, in a recent interview, has said that they are planning to release the teaser in May and now, it has been confirmed. Hyderabad, April 13 - Superstar Ram Charan has resumed the shooting for director Shankar's political thriller, RC15 (working title), after keeping himself busy in "RRR", which is now become a global rage. The SS Rajamouli-directed released over 10 overseas countries apart from India and already grossed over 1050 crores worldwide. ## Ram Charan, along with actor Jr. NTR, director Rajamouli, and producer DVV Danayya, have been traveling from one city to another to promote their film until recently. They have put in a lot of effort to promote their film which has paid off. During a recent interview with Deadline, Charan revealed that they are planning to release the film in more international markets and will be touring to promote it. ## "In October we are having a big grand release in Japan, so yes we are doing a couple of days tour in Japan and then China. We have released in 10 countries now and I believe we are exploring about 30 more different countries", he said. ## Talking about "RRR's" release in China, even though the date is not confirmed yet over there, China could be a massive market for the makers. While she played the lead in Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed, the actress featured in an extended cameo in "RRR", and her performance has widely been praised. ## "RRR" marked Alia's maiden collaboration with director SS Rajamouli as well as with Jr. NTR and Ram Charan. After the release of the film, there were many reports claiming that Alia was not happy with Rajamouli for her lesser screen time, however, she later ruled out such reports and said that she enjoyed her time in the film and would love to team up again with "RRR" trio. ## During a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Rajamouli was asked about giving a short role to Alia, in terms of length. The filmmaker said that Alia's role was always designed like that according to the demand of the story. It's a very different world from the kind of work I've done so far. I am sure the audience will enjoy the magnum opus that is Adipurush". ## Even though Sonal made her debut with the Bollywood movie, "Jannat" in 2008, she is very well known to the Telugu audiences as well. Mumbai, April 11 - Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri's all-time blockbuster, "The Kashmir Files" has stormed past the 250 crores net mark and becomes the 13th biggest Hindi grosser of all time. The hard-hitting drama movie, based on true facts, took 32 days to reach the box office milestone. ## "The Kashmir Files" box office run so far has been phenomenal as no one had thought this film would reach this far. It opened with a decent 3.55 crores, but once the public opinion was out, it became unstoppable. The demand for the tickets was such a huge that it even knocked down Prabhas-starrer "Radhe Shyam", and Akshay Kumar's "Bachchhan Paandey" a week later. ## Produced by Abhishek Agarwal in association with Zee Studios and I Am Buddha, TKF's box office run is slowing down with new releases taking the charge, but it has accomplished its job, in fact, it has crossed even the highest of expectations trade had before the release. It currently stands at 250.10 crores. ## Among the biggest Hindi movies of all time at the domestic box office, TKF is at number 3 and is most likely to settle with that. It needs another 21 crores more to topple "Dhoom 3" to become the 12th biggest Hindi movie, but this looks like a Hercules task at this point in time. Makers Announce Shoot Wrap For Ishaan Khatter And Mrunal Thakur's War Drama 'Pippa'

Mumbai, April 11 - The makers of the upcoming war drama movie, "Pippa", starring Ishaan Khatter and Mrunal Thakur in the leads, on Monday (April 11) announced that the shoot wrap for Ishaan, who plays the role of war hero Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta in the movie. ## Based on the book The Burning Chaffees by Balram Singh Mehta who fought during the Indo-Pak war in 1971, "Pippa" is directed by Raja Krishna Menon of Airlift fame while Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur will produce it under their respective production banners, RSVP Movies, and Roy Kapur Films.## The movie, which was announced in 2020, is billed as a heroic tank battle film that underscores the bravery of Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta, a veteran of the 45th Cavalry tank squadron, who, along with his siblings, fought on the eastern front during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971. The battle, called the "Battle of Garibpur", was fought 12 days before India officially joined the war against Pakistan. ## "Pippa" also stars Priyanshu Painyuli and Soni Razdan in prominent roles while maestro AR Rahman has composed the music. Mumbai, April 11 - The rise of "RRR" is unstoppable and it is continuing to roar at the box office. The Hindi version of the blockbuster film is racing towards the 250 crores net collection mark which is looking inevitable, thanks to yet another superb weekend. ## The SS Rajamouli-directed scored a brilliant 3rd weekend in Hindi with 23 crores net, dropping approx. 56% from the second weekend. The blockbuster 3rd weekend takes "RRR" to 231.59 crores net in Hindi. With this, it has become the 18th biggest Hindi grosser of all time. Los Angeles, April 11 - Paramount Pictures' "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" was on fire at the domestic (North America) box office, and powered to a massive $72 million 3-day opening weekend debut. The film beat industry projections and record the biggest video game movie opening of all time and second-biggest in 2022. ## Directed by Jeff Fowler, "Sonic 2" topped its predecessor, 2020's "Sonic the Hedgehog", which had grossed $58 million in its first 3 days. The new movie landed at number 1 at the domestic box office and was miles ahead of the second-ranked Sony's "Morbius", which plunged by 74% in the second weekend for a low $10.2 million. ## The massive box office numbers of kids' friendly, "Sonic 2" are another indication that family audiences are feeling much better about returning to movie theaters after keeping themselves away due to the covid-19 pandemic. ## "This is an outstanding opening. With solid reviews and very good audience scores, 'Sonic' is going to have a strong run", said David A. Gross, who runs the movie consulting firm Franchise Entertainment Research (via Variety). ## Meanwhile, the science fiction action-adventure comedy film, added another $37 million from 53 territories, taking its international tally to $70 million and global total to $141 million.
