Kangana has a long history of controversies and is known for making bold statements. ## On Sunday (August 21), the "Queen" actress took to Instagram stories and announced that she is going to sue the magazine. The actress claimed that Filmfare wants her to give the award for "Thalaivii", despite knowing that she has boycotted the Filmfare awards since 2014. ## "I've banned unethical, corrupt, and totally unfair practices like @filmfare since 2014, but since I have been getting many calls from them for attending their award function this year as they want to give me an award for Thalaivii... I am shocked to know that they are still nominating me. It is beneath my dignity, work ethics, and value system to encourage such corrupt practices in any way, that is why I have decided to sue @filmfare ... thanks", she wrote. ## In this year's Filmfare awards, Kangana's "Thalaivii" has been nominated in five categories, including the Best Actress award. Mumbai, August 21 - Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri said that the reason behind Bollywood's rejection is its arrogance. The "The Kashmir Files" director was speaking in response to director Anurag Kashyap's remark on his film during a recent interview in which he said that TKF shouldn't be chosen for India's official entry for Oscars 2022. ## The selection for India's Oscars entry is made by the Film Federation of India (FFI), the apex body of film producers, distributors, exhibitors, and studio owners, and since 1957, when Mehboob Khan's 'Mother India' lost by just a vote, all of two Indian films - Mira Nair's "Salaam Bombay" (1988) and the Aamir Khan-starrer "Lagaan" (2001) have made it to the Oscar nominations shortlist.## It is possible that "The Kashmir Files" may not be picked as India's entry but Vivek Agnihotri has reasons to feel offended by Kashyap's remark. "Bollywood is suffering today because you are trying to pass on your own failure to an individual because his films work", he said. ## "Go to any middle-class, urban, semi-urban household and interview them and you will find how people hate the arrogance, glossy lifestyle, and the disconnect of Bollywood with real-life audiences".## Agnihotri said that people have seen through "all this hypocrisy, arrogance, and this flashy, flamboyant lifestyle, paid organized publicity campaigns... and now they are not willing to accept it, which is a good thing, which has made Bollywood rethink the ideology they follow".## "They are still running a campaign against 'The Kashmir Files' Oscars submission. So, they are experts on this. It is a serious topic and I take it very seriously. If people are boycotting their films it is because of the anger of the audience. Hyderabad, August 21 - After two months of pause, the Telugu film industry is back in the action and is on a potential long ride. Putting this in simple words - the largest South Indian film industry is flying high with the support of three back-to-back box office blockbusters, all coming in this month called August. ## The industry was in a dire need of one big hit to kick-start the process, and it got two not just one in the form of "Sita Ramam" and "Bimbisara". A week later joining these two films was actor Nikhil Siddhartha's "Karthikeya 2", which is simply going overdrive and proving to be a force to reckon with no sign of dropping anytime soon. ## While the aforementioned three films are going strong, the Telugu industry has one more, if not many, potential blockbuster in August in the form of Vijay Deverakonda and director Puri Jagannadh's much-anticipated sports action drama film, "Liger". Scheduled to release on August 25, the movie is carrying a very good buzz and it is almost certain to open big at the Telugu box office. ## "Liger" is a Pan India film, shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu. It is co-produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions so the makers have taken the Hindi market very seriously, in fact, they started the promotion by visiting multiple North Indian cities. The Hindi version may not take as big an opening as the Telugu version, but it can be the most productive in the long run if received very well. ## Personally, the thing which is exciting to me is the extra confidence Vijay Deverakonda (who recently quoted a minimum of 200 crores earning of the film) is showing in the movie. Of course, the cat will be out of the hat when the movie officially will get released, but it is very important for the involved people to back their product wholeheartedly which is exactly what VD is doing without putting his head down for a second. ## The stakes involved in "Liger" are comparatively high than the previous films, but so is the confidence of the makers and buzz around the film and this should extend the dominance of Telugu cinema at the box office. It also stars Ananya Pandey as the female lead along with Ramya Krishnan and Ronit Roy in important roles. Hyderabad, August 20 - Telugu mystical action-adventure film, Karthikeya 2 is on a dream run at the box office. The movie, starring Nikhil Siddharth in the title role, had a limited release but went on to outshine other new releases to become a massive blockbuster within a week. ## "Karthikeya 2" was released on Saturday (August 13) and opened to super positive reviews and word of mouth. It scored 5.04 crores net on the first day and went on to finish the first full week (7 days) with approx. 36 crores net, including both Telugu and Hindi languages.## The movie was valued at approx. 13 crores worldwide and it has already scored over 28 crores Share the collection, including 18.7 crores share in Telugu states (AP/TG). It became the highest-grossing film for actor Nikhil in just 4 days and there is not stopping it at the moment. ## Meanwhile, the dubbed Hindi version of the movie is showing no sign of taking a back seat. The Hindi version opened with just 7 lakh on the first day but thanks to positive word of mouth, it grew exponentially throughout the first week and never dropped at once in the first 7 days. It closed the full opening week scoring 2.46 crores net. The total Hindi net collection is 8.21 crores.## The growth of film in the Hindi language can be understood by the number of shows it added over the week. It was released on just 55 shows by the 7th day, it had over 3000 shows and is increasing rapidly with each passing hour. In addition to under its further growth, K2 outscored outright Bollywood biggies, "Laal Singh Chaddha" and "Raksha Bandhan's" combined total yesterday (August 19). ## The worldwide gross total of "Karthikeya 2" is approx. 50 crores, including 7 crores at the overseas box office.
