Mumbai, August 26 - The recent Telugu blockbuster, Sita Ramam, starring Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur, and Rashmika Mandanna, is getting ready for Hindi release in theaters on September 2, 2022. ## The Hanu Raghvapudi-directed period romantic drama has been a true box office blockbuster from Tollywood this year. Set in 1964, Lieutenant Ram, an orphan army officer serving at the Kashmir border, gets anonymous love letters from Sita Mahalakshmi. Ram is on a mission to find Sita and propose his love. ## Produced by Vyjayanthi Movies and Swapna Cinema, the film was released in Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam languages on August 5 and so far has grossed over 65 crores worldwide. Box Office: Vijay Deverakonda's 'Liger' Underperformed Despite Record Opening

Hyderabad, August 26 - Vijay Deverakonda's sports action drama Liger was released in theaters yesterday (August 25) and it was a day of mixed feelings for the makers. ## Directed by Puri Jagannadh, "Liger" opened to record-breaking (as expected) box office numbers for a tier-2 Telugu film, but at the same time, the makers must be preparing themselves for what they are going to get in the future, at least for the most important Telugu version. ## "Liger", which had a very good pre-release buzz, remained underwhelming despite taking the biggest opening for Vijay Deverakonda with an AP/TG share collection of 9.14 crores, worldwide is approx. 24 crores. ## Puri Jagannadh described the movie as his best project to date, however, upon its release, the film got very poor reviews from critics while the audience's word of mouth is also not so encouraging which is clearly visible in the opening day numbers that were expected to be around at least 35 crores worldwide. ## The future of this Pan India film is looking blink, especially knowing the fact that the stakes involved in it are high. "Liger" has been valued at approx. 90 crores worldwide, but going the current trend, the stakeholders will be hoping for miracles to happen to recover even 50% of the total investment. ## It's not all doom and gloom for "Liger" as of now as other versions, including Hindi, will get the full-fledged release from August 26 onwards. Chennai, August 25 - Tamil star Chiyaan Vikram's last theatrical film was "Kadaram Kondan" in 2019, and since then, he has had only one release in the form of "Mahaan", and it was direct to release via Amazon Prime Video in February this year. ## Chiyaan Vikram is now gearing up for his big screen comeback with the upcoming movie "Cobra", scheduled to release on August 31. It is not the only film of him releasing in theaters this year as filmmaker Mani Ratnam's magnum opus, "Ponniyin Selvan: I", in which he is playing the role of a prince Aditya Karikalan, is also scheduled for September 30. ## While the aforementioned films are confirmed to release, if all goes well, the actor could have his third theatrical release this year. According to reports, Vikram's long-awaited "Dhruva Natchathiram" is progressing to release in December this year. The movie was initially announced with Suriya and Deepika Padukone in 2013, but months after the announcement, director Gautham Vasudev Menon shelved the project citing creative differences with the actor. ## The movie was later revived with Chiyaan Vikram coming on board to play the lead role. The psychological thriller film that also stars Shreya Dhanwanthary and Pooja Bhatt as the female leads will be released worldwide on September 23, 2022. ## Billed as an homage to master filmmaker Guru Dutt and his 1959 classic "Kaagaz Ke Phool", - "Chup" is produced by Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, Anil Naidu, Dr. Jayantilal Gada (PEN Studios), and Gauri Shinde. The all-India distributing partner is Pen Marudhar. ## Meanwhile, the film also marks legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan's debut as a music composer. Pictures is once again pushing back the release dates of its most-awaited sequels to Aquaman and Shazam! in another major development at the studio within a month. ## Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, the highly-anticipated superhero sequel, directed by James Wan, has been pushed to Chrismas 2023 from March 17, 2023. The new release date is exactly one year later than the original release date of "Aquaman 2" in 2022. ## The sequel to a $1+ billion grosser movie will see the return of Jason Momoa as the titular superhero, as well as Patrick Wilson's Orm Marius and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II's Black Manta.
