The megastar now pinned his hope on his next film titled Waltair Veerayya, which is an action-comedy directed by Bobby. ## Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, "Waltair Veerayya" will be hitting theaters worldwide on January 13, 2023, on the occasion of Sankranthi, and now, makers have revealed that it will be date and date release also in Hindi along with the original Telugu version with the same title. ## Chiranjeevi's last film, "Godfather" was also released in Hindi but couldn't score much and was declared a flop. Hyderabad, December 26 - It has been tough 22 months for Tollywood star Ravi Teja but the table finally turned in his favor, thanks to the action comedy film Dhamaka which is currently playing in theaters. ## Ravi Teja was the first Tollywood hero who delivered a box-office hit when cinemas re-opened in 2021. The actor's action thriller Krack, which was released in January 2021, grossed approx. 60 crores worldwide and was declared a blockbuster. ## After "Krack", Ravi Teja had to wait for his next release due to the severe covid-19 outbreak, and when his next film "Khiladi" was released in February 2022, things weren't the same this time, and the movie was bombed at the box office. He had hoped to turn the tide with "Ramarao On Duty", released in July, but it turned out to be an even bigger disaster, leaving the makers shocked. ## It was always about one good film for the actor to back in the game and it finally came in the form of "Dhamaka". The Trinadha Rao Nakkina-directed film was released during the Christmas weekend on December 23 and opened to favorable reviews and box office numbers. ## "Dhamaka" had a very good opening weekend and did really well on Monday to put approx. 33 crores gross worldwide in 4 days. It is certain that "Dhamaka" will achieve the break-even target within the first week and will turn a profit for the distributors. It is all about how far it will go at the box office which will decide its final verdict. ## Since there is no notable big Telugu release this year anymore, "Dhamaka" might be the last hit of the year for the Tollywood film industry, unless the remaining films surprise. Mumbai, December 25 - James Cameron's mega movie Avatar: The Way of Water is continuing with its phenomenal run at the Indian box office. The movie has already become the second highest-grossing Hollywood movie, behind only "Avengers: Endgame" and now, it has reached another milestone. ## The sci-fi epic, which is the sequel to the all-time grosser of Cameron's "Avatar" (2009), has crossed 300 crores gross in India in just 10 days. It has scored approx. 305 crores ($37 million) in all languages, including approx. 30 crores gross on its second Sunday (10th day). ## The original English language of the movie has been the best performing with approx. 161 crores gross, followed by approx. 99 crores in Hindi. The South Indian languages have contributed approx. 45 crores gross. The movie has also crossed 250 crores net collection and will be breaching the 300 crores mark by Thursday or Friday. ## India has been the 4th biggest market for "Avatar" outside the domestic (North American) market. In North America, the movie has grossed approx. $253 million (approx. 2090 crores). China is the leading international market for "Avatar 2" with approx. 101 million (approx. 834 crores). ## The Disney tentpole has reached $855 million (approx. 7066 crores), including approx. $602 million (4973 crores) through the second Sunday at the global box office and will be breaching the $1 billion box office mark by Tuesday or Wednesday.## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, December 25 - Book My Show, the online movie ticket portal, recently revealed the top 10 movies of 2022 with the highest number of tickets sold on its platform. Yash-fronted "KGF: Chapter 2" has been the most-watched Indian film of 2022 with over 50 million footfalls in theaters. ## Apart from revealing the top 10 movies, Book My Show also revealed which Indian cities witnessed the highest number of footfalls this year. While the portal didn't reveal the number of tickets, it announced that Hyderabad sold the highest number of tickets this year on BMS. ## The Telugu film industry has had great success this year, led by SS Rajamouli's mega-blockbuster "RRR" along with Mahesh Babu's "Sarkaru Vaari Paata", "Bheemla Nayak", "Karthikeya 2", and "Sita Ramam" along with many others. Kannada biggie, "KGF: Chapter 2" also did excellent business in Telugu states. ## The silicon valley of India, Bengaluru was also the top contributor to the Indian film industry as BMS announced it sold the second-highest number of movie tickets in the city in 2022. The Kannada film industry has been the biggest box office contributor this year, thanks to the biggest grosser of the year "KGF 2", along with the surprise monster blockbuster "Kantara", "777 Charlie", and "Vikrant Rona". ## The Hindi film industry wasn't top of its game in 2022 but still, the key contribution from the films like "Brahmastra", "The Kashmir Files", "Drishyam 2", and "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2" along with the huge contribution from the Hindi versions of "KGF 2", "RRR", and "Kantara", Mumbai scored the 3rd highest number of footfalls this year, as per BMS. The aforementioned films also attracted Delhi NCR audience as it ranked 4th in the list. ## The Tamil film industry also performed well, led by two 400+ crores grossers - "Ponniyin Selvan Part - 1" and "Vikram" this year as Chennai city scored 5th highest number of tickets sold. Mumbai, December 25 - Yash Raj Films is gearing up to kickstart 2023 by releasing one of its biggest films, Pathaan starring Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan in the title role. The movie is a part of YRF's ambitious spy universe and it also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in prominent roles along with the cameo of Salman Khan as Tiger.## "Pathaan" is scheduled to release on January 25, and to make the theater experience memorable for audiences, YRF will also release the movie in ICE theater format. PVR Cinemas, India's largest film exhibitor in partnership with French exhibitor CGR Cinemas, recently opened India's first premium ICE Theatres auditorium in two of its leading cinemas in Delhi NCR. Pathaan will be the first Indian film to release in this format.## "Yash Raj Films has been the front-runner to adopt path-breaking technology that pushes the envelope to give audiences an immersive movie-going experience. Mumbai, December 24 - Maverick filmmaker James Cameron, with his sci-fi epic Avatar: The Way of Water, is proving his might once again and there is no one to challenge him at the moment as far as the Indian box office is concerned. ## "Avatar 2" was the most anticipated Hollywood film in India ever since it was announced and the excitement for it never dropped despite the covid-19 pandemic. The long wait finally ended with the movie getting released a week ago on December 16, and as expected, Indian thronged to theaters to experience the magical world of Pandora.## The movie opened to the second biggest opening for a Hollywood movie in India with 40.3 crores net for all languages, behind only "Avengers: Endgame" which opened to mighty 53.60 crores net in 2019. Cameron's directorial met with favorable word of mouth and this led the movie to score a huge 128.8 crores net in the opening weekend and 193.6 crores net in the first full week. ## There was competition for "Avatar 2" in its second weekend with multiple new releases, including Rohit Shetty's "Cirkus". However, the movie remained unscratched and brought in nearly 60 crores net. "Avengers: Endgame" is currently the highest Hollywood grosser in India with approx. 374 crores net in all languages, and "Avatar 2" has already scored approx. 252 crores in just 10 days.## The underperformance of "Cirkus" has ensured an uninterpreted run till Pongal 2023 when multiple big South Indian films will be released.
