Among the successful films, youth romantic-comedy Premalu is making waves at the worldwide box office. ## Directed by Girish A. D., Premalu emerged as a huge blockbuster and crossed 50 crores worldwide. Starring Naslen K. Gafoor and Mamitha Baiju in the lead roles, it is the highest-grossing and first Malayalam film of 2024 to top 50 crores so far. ## Released on February 9, Premalu made on a budget of just around 3-4 crores, and at the time of writing this piece, it has surpassed the 50 crores mark globally. The movie scored 13 million viewing hours from 4.9 million views in the first 4 days of its launch and was the fifth most-watched non-English movie globally on the platform during the week. ## Produced by Jio Studios, Red Chillies Entertainment, and Rajkumar Hirani Films, Dunki is trending in the top 10 in 15 countries, including number 1 in India, UAE, Sri Lanka, Kuwait, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Qatar, Maldives, Oman, and Mauritius. ## Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu's Guntur Kaaram continued to be in the top 10 non-English movies on Netflix for the second consecutive week. Pictures' sci-fi epic Dune: Part 1 re-release has made an impressive punch at the global box office in a smart move by the studio to create further buzz for its hugely-awaited sequel's release on March 1st. ## Directed by Denis Villeneuve, Dune Part 1, which was originally released in 2021, recently returned to cinemas worldwide and in just a week, the movie has grossed an impressive $30 million (250 crores) at the worldwide box office. ## The movie grossed $403.5 million in its original run in 2021 and with a re-release gross collection of $30 million, its cumulative global haul is now $433.7 million of which, around $109 million has come from the domestic (North America) market and remaining $325 million from international markets. ## Dune 2 is among the hottest upcoming Hollywood movies and the super response to its predecessor has further boosted its box office prospects from its current $65+ million opening weekend projection in North America. It is touted to be the 8th movie in the studio's ambitious Spy Universe. ## In January 2023, SRK made his Spy Universe debut with Pathaan and also marked his comeback to the big screen after 4 years. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the movie went on to gross over 1000 crores at the worldwide box office and became the highest-grossing Spy Universe film and one of the biggest Indian blockbusters of all time. ## It has been reported that YRF is now focusing solely on Spy Universe and has already lined up a couple of projects. According to Pinkvilla, Aditya Chopra and his team have worked on the script of Pathaan 2 over the last year and planning to take it on floors by the end of this year. ## Reportedly, Pathaan 2 will lead the events of Tiger vs Pathaan which was earlier supposed to go on floors by 2024. Los Angeles, February 20 - Dakota Johnson-led superhero movie Madame Web has hit an unwanted box office record for Sony's Spider-Man movie.## Spidey's spin-off film generated $17.6 million over the traditional weekend and $26.2 million during the same six-day period at the domestic (North American) box office, opening second place (according to Variety). It is the first Marvel-based movie since 2015's Fantastic Four which opened at $25.6 million. ## Madame Web is now officially the worst Spider-Man or its spin-off title in the franchise's 22-year history. The movie debuted below Morbius' 3-day opening gross of $39 million and animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse scored $35.3 million in its domestic weekend. ## The latest superhero movie opened to terrible reviews from critics and CinemaScore is also not promising with C+ which has pretty much sealed its fate at the box office, as far as the domestic market is concerned.## Internationally, Madame Web minted $25.7 million over 60 markets on its 5-day weekend, for a $51.9 million global opening. The movie grossed around 3.50 crores on its second Friday (8th day), which pushed the total domestic collection to over 56.50 crores. ## TBMAUJ is doing very well at the overseas box office and has so far grossed around 29 crores for over 85.50 crores worldwide in 8 days. It is the fourth film in Sony's Spider-Man Universe (SSU) after Venom (2018), Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021), and Morbius (2022). ## Directed by S. J. Clarkson, Madame Web's critics' score at Rotten Tomatoes is currently at just 13% from 175 reviews while the audience score is 54%, making it the worst-rated Spider-Man spin-off film on both parameters. Overseas, TBMAUJ has grossed an estimated 28 crores so far, for worldwide 81 crores gross first week total. ## TBMAUJ is the 6th highest-grossing movie domestically and 5th worldwide for Shahid Kapoor while for Kriti, it is her 8th biggest domestic and 6th worldwide grosser. Warner Bros. 'Dune: Part 2' Box Office Projection Revealed

Los Angeles, February 15 - Warner Bros. Pictures' epic science fiction film Dune: Part 2 is setting up to be one of the most-anticipated films. Directed by Denis Villeneuve, it is the second of a two-part adaptation of the 1965 novel Dune by Frank Herbert. ## Following the success of the first part, released in 2021, Hollywood Trade is hoping for the massive success of Dune 2. However, the film's early box office projections have been revealed and it is currently falling short of the trade expectations. ## According to Deadline, Dune 2 is tracking to gross $65 million - $75 million in its domestic (North America) opening box office weekend. The actor has had a mixed bag of success over the last couple of years and now, he aims to make big over the next few years. ## Ranveer is currently shooting for director Rohit Shetty's Singham Again with Ajay Devgn in the title role. The actor has already shot for most of his part and will wrap up by April this year. It is said that Ranveer is playing a significant extended role in Singham 3 which also has Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, and Tiger Sharoff with Arjun Kapoor as the main antagonist. ## After wrapping up Singham 3, the Simmba star will move to director Farhan Akhtar's Don 3. The actor has replaced superstar Shah Rukh Khan to headline the third instalment of the franchise and he will undergo workshops to get into the part of Don.
