Mumbai, July 23 - IMDb has unveiled the top 10 most anticipated upcoming Indian movies of 2024, and not so surprisingly, superstar Allu Arjun-fronted Pan India action drama Pushpa 2 - The Rule takes the first spot. ## Directed by Sukumar, the sequel to the 2021 movie Pushpa - The Rise, Pushpa 2 has been the talk of the town ever since the first part was released. Also starring Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil, the blockbuster movie is scheduled to be released on December 6 in multiple languages.## The second most anticipated Indian movie of the year is superstar Jr. NTR's action drama, Devara: Part 1 which is again a Pan India title. It is directed by Koratala Siva and also stars Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan in their Telugu debut. The movie is slated to hit the big screen on September 28. ## Akshay Kumar-fronted comedy entertainer, Welcome To The Jungle (Welcome 3) is the third most anticipated movie of 2024. The multi-starrer tentpole is currently scheduled to be released during the Christmas weekend, however, it is likely to be postponed to next year. ## Thalapathy Vijay's sci-fi action thriller, The Greatest of All-Time (GOAT) is the 4th most-anticipated Indian title of the year. The studio's next release is Shraddha Kapoor-fronted Stree 2, which is the 5th instalment in Maddock Supernatural Universe. It is scheduled to be released on August 15.## Meanwhile, Maddock Films is gearing up to launch the teasers of Akshay Kumar's action thriller Sky Force and Vicky Kaushal-starrer historical action drama Chhava directly in theatres with Stree 2 which is one of the most anticipated movies of the year and is easily to biggest for Maddock Films. ## Sky Force is directed by Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Anil Kapur. The movie is directed by Anand Tiwari and co-produced by Leo Media Collective. ## The film's advance booking opened a couple of days ago and unlike its title, the booking trend has been good news for the industry and the makers in particular. The action thriller, which will mark SRK's daughter Suahana Khan's big-screen debut, has been in the news since last year despite no official announcement from the makers yet. Now, as the movie is gearing up to commence shooting in the next few weeks, the makers are speeding up to lock the rest of the cast. According to the report by Peepingmoon.com, Abhishek Bachchan has been locked in to play the antagonist role to take on Shah Rukh Khan in this big-scale action entertainer. As reported previously, SRK will be playing the role of Don while Suhana Khan will be in the parallel lead, essaying the role of a young girl who finds herself in perilous circumstances after a life-altering incident. It will be the first major negative role for Abhishek Bachchan, who was said to be surprised by the character when it was offered to him but accepted it immediately, intrigued by the depth of the role. It is said to be a special role, and Siddharth Anand, who produces the film with SRK's Red Chillies Entertainment, has grand plans to present Abhishek in a manner audiences have never seen before. Mumbai, July 12 - Akshay Kumar's drama film Sarfira takes a low start at the box office with poor occupancy throughout the day. The movie was expected to see some boost due to the positive reviews which don't seem happening as it opens in the range of Selfiee. ## Sarfira, directed by Sudha Kongara, has had pre-sales between Akshay Kumar's previous two low starters, Selfiee and Mission Raniganj which indicated a low start which turns out to be true as it scored an estimated 2.25-2.50 crores net opening day. ## The movie was always going to open in a similar range due to its remake status which has struggled in the post-COVID era, and its subject which doesn't have mass appeal. The initial word of mouth, however, seems to be positive which can come into play over the weekend but it will be hard for it to make up for the very low opening. ## Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 (Hindi) also has a poor start which was expected due to negligible pre-sales. As per the early estimates, the movie is expected to open in the range of 1.25 crores net collection which might vary on either side when the actuals come. ## Indian 2, however, has a much better showing in all versions on its opening day as it is expected to score an estimated 25-26 crores net (30-31 crores gross) collection. The movie has opened on the expected lines with a slightly lower of the optimistic projections. ## In Tamil Nadu, it is expected to gross in the range of 13+ crores, followed by 9-10 crores in Telugu states which is a good collection. The rest of India gross of the movie is estimated to be around 8 crores, including around 4 crores in Karnataka.
