Box Office: 'Jigra' and 'Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video' Opening Day Early Estimates

Mumbai, October 11 - Bollywood star Alia Bhatt returns to the big screen with director Vasan Bala's action thriller Jigra since romantic comedy-drama Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani in July 2023.

Jigra generated decent hype after the trailer release, however, this couldn't turn into box office numbers as the opening of the film is below the mark. According to early estimates, the movie scored in the range of 4.25-4.50 crores on its opening day.



The opening of Jigra is somehow on the projected lines due to the genre but the presence of Alia was anticipated to bring bigger opening day numbers which couldn't happen. The word of mouth for the movie is mixed and it needs to be seen how it fairs over the Dusshera weekend which is crucial.

While Jigra fumbles to take a respectable start, Rajkummar Rao and Tripti Dimri's romantic comedy Vicky Vidya ka Woh Wala Video surprises with the bigger opening. The genre has more appeal than that of Jigra and this was clearly visible in the opening day footfalls.

According to the early estimates, VVKVWV scored 5-5.50 crores net collection on its first day which is a decent to good start. The WOM for the movie is mixed to positive and this should lead to a good first weekend collection.
