Mumbai, September 15 - Director Rahi Anil Barve's folk horror thriller Tumbbad scored a fantastic first weekend at the domestic box office upon its re-release. The movie surpasses expectations to earn more than 2X of the original run opening weekend collection. ## Tumbbad scored approximately 1.60 crores net collection on its first day of re-release, followed by 2.60 crores net on the second day with a good jump of 62.50%. The movie breached the 3 crore mark on Sunday as it scored approximately 3 crore to conclude the opening weekend on a high note. ## The re-release opening weekend collection of the film is close to 7.25 crores net and is now just 6 crores away from outgrossing the lifetime collection of its original run. Tumbbad is expected to do well during the weekdays as word-of-mouth is growing. ## There haven't been many Bollywood films which performed well after getting re-released. This year, Rockstar and Laila Majnu did well and grossed over 10 crores each upon re-release. Tumbbad is setting up a new benchmark for non-original releases and is expected to end up with much more than its original collection (13.50 crores net). ## Tumbbad was a box office flop when it was released in 2018 but after 6 years, it is having a verdict-changing re-release run. Mumbai, September 15 - Amid the superb response to the Tumbbad re-release, Tripti Dimri and Avinash Tiwary's romantic drama Laila Majnu, which was re-released more than a month ago, is still doing a decent business.## Directed by Sajid Ali, the heartbreaking romance drama makes a successful return to the big screen after 6 years. While it largely went unnoticed in its original run back in 2018, the re-release has already earned more than 3X of its original collection of 3.25 crores gross (2.70 crores net).## Laila Majnu is currently in the 6th week of its re-release run and in 38 days so far, it has grossed approximately 10.50 crores. It is the second Bollywood re-release to cross 10 crores gross collection domestically this year. ## The movie was re-released on September 9, ahead of the Independence Day biggies and scored approximately 4.75 crores gross collection (4.10 crores net) in the first week. Mumbai, September 14 - Critically acclaimed Folk horror thriller Tumbbad is up for a fantastic re-release run at the domestic box office and is set to outgross its lifetime original run collection within two weeks. ## The movie was re-released on September 13 amid much anticipation and it didn't disappoint with superb 1.60 crores net opening, which is almost 2.5X of its original run opening day collection of 65 lakh. As word of mouth grows, it scored a deserving jump of +50% on Saturday. ## On its second day, Tumbbad earned approximately 2.60 crores net collection (3+ crores gross), pushing the total re-release collection to approx. 4.20 crores net in 2 days. Interestingly, in its original run, the movie never scored 2 crores or more collection in a single day. ## The film had scored approximately 3.25 crores net in its original run opening weekend which has been crossed in just 2 days with a good margin upon its re-release. Mumbai, September 14 - One of the most critically acclaimed folk horror Indian films ever, Tumbbad got re-released on September 13 amid much anticipation and it delivered what was expected from it regarding the box office collection. ## Over the last few months, Bollywood has been following the re-release trend of some classic films that are also doing well at the box office. Sensing the big opportunity and obelizing the public demand, producer Sohum Shah and the team announced the re-release of Tumbbad and they also put efforts into promoting the movie. ## Per estimates, the film scored approximately 1.60 crores net (1.80+ crores gross) collection on its opening day which is more than 2.5X of its original release's first-day collection (65 lakh). Mumbai, September 13 - After the historic comeback in 2023 with three back-to-back big blockbusters, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is taking time before starting his next film, titled King which with director Sujoy Ghosh under production Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix. ## King has been in the pre-production work for a while now and was supposed to go on floors by the end of this year. However, the makers are being extra careful before starting the shoot which has now been delayed to January 2026, according to the report by Pinkvilla. ## It is said that the first schedule of King will commence in Mumbai in January 2025, followed by a marathon schedule in Europe. The makers have done multiple rounds of recce in Europe to identify virgin locations that bring scale to the film. ## The film will be shot until August/September 2025 due to multiple changes in the locations. As reported earlier, the movie will miss a 2025 release which the makers were originally eyeing, and as per the latest report, it will now be hitting the big screen on Eid 2026. ## If the movie indeed makes it to the Eid 2026 slot, it will be Shah Rukh Khan's first film to release on this particular festival since Chennai Express (2013) which was a blockbuster. ## King is said to be an action thriller, unlike any other film Shah Rukh Khan has done so far. Mumbai, September 11 - Ajay Devgn-fronted crime thriller Raid 2 has officially been postponed to February next year. The movie is directed by Raj Kumar Gupta and also stars Riteish Deshmukh and Vaani Kapoor in the prominent roles. ## Raid 2, which is the sequel to Raid (2018), will be hitting worldwide theaters on February 21, 2025. It was supposed to be released on November 15 this year but due to another film of Ajay scheduled to be released in November in the form of Singham Again, the makers have pushed Raid 2 back by nearly 4 months. ## Just like the first movie, Raid 2 is also based on true incidents. Ajay Devgn returns to reprise his role as IRS officer Amay Patnaik, who tracks another white-collar crime. It all began with his comeback film, Pathaan before Jawan outdid it with its phenomenal performance, followed by the third success of the year in the form of Dunki. ## Pathaan redefined the stardom of Shah Rukh Khan by becoming his first 1000 crores gross grosser before director Atlee's Jawan took it to the next level and turned out to be one of the biggest Pan India blockbusters of all time. Jawan has turned a year old after getting unleashed at the box office on this day (September 7) last year.## The action thriller was one of the first major collaborations between a South Indian director and a Bollywood superstar in recent times, and this collaboration turned out to be one of the most talked about for redefining the mass genre in Indian cinema. It was mounted on a huge scale and featured many mass moments to turn the theatres into stadiums.## Jawan was a box office phenomenon from day 1 and it broke several records in India and overseas. As said, it scored the biggest opening (75 crores net) for a Bollywood film, followed by the biggest first week of all time for Bollywood and one of the biggest in Hindi.## The box office juggernaut of the movie continued beyond the first week and eventually turned out to be the biggest Bollywood blockbuster domestically.
