Rajkummar Rao And Bhumi Pednekar Starrer 'Badhaai Do' Sets Republic Day 2022 Weekend Release In Theaters

Mumbai, October 30 - Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar-starrer family comedy-drama film "Badhaai Do" has been announced to release in theaters during the Republic Day 2022 weekend. Directed by Harshavardhan Kulkarni, "Badhaai Do" serves as a spiritual sequel to the 2018 film Badhaai Ho.## "When it comes to family entertainers especially comedy films, cinema is the ideal platform as they can be enjoyed with the entire family", said director Harshavardhan Kulkarni.## "We are super excited to bring 'Badhaai Do' in cinema halls on the Republic Day weekend. It's a wholesome entertainer and I really hope the audiences would enjoy watching the movie as much as we enjoyed creating it", he added. ## Produced by Junglee Pictures, the film marks the first collaboration between Rao and Bhumi, who will be essaying the role of a cop in a Mahila police thana, Bhumi plays the role of a PT teacher in the film, respectively. It is co-written by Suman Adhikary and Akshat Ghildial, who also had written "Badhaai Ho". ## The family entertainer also boasts of an ensemble cast featuring seasoned actors like Seema Pahwa, Sheeba Chadha, Lovleen Mishra, Nitish Pandey, Shashi Bhushan amongst others essaying pivotal roles taking the narrative ahead.## "Bringing powerhouse talents like Raj, Bhumi, Harsh, and Akshat-Suman together on this movie has been truly phenomenal. We can't wait to bring this very special movie to the theatres", said Amrita Pandey of Junglee Pictures. ## Interestingly, Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chhillar starrer "Prithviraj" and John Abraham's "Attack" are also scheduled to release around Republic Day on January 21, and 27, respectively. Amazon Prime Video Paid A Whopping Rs. 450 Crores To Acquire Post-Theatrical Rights For 6 Yash Raj Films' Film!

Mumbai, October 30 - A couple of days ago, Amazon Prime Video and Yash Raj Films signed a deal for the post-theatrical streaming rights of YRF's 4 upcoming films that include Bunty Aur Babli 2, Prithviraj, Jayeshbhai Jordaar, and Shamshera. These films will be available to stream on Prime Video after 4-weeks of theatrical release. ## As per the industry insiders, Amazon Prime Video has paid Rs. 250 crores for the four aforementioned films, which is one of the biggest deals for movies, streaming after theatrical release. Earlier, there were reports that Amazon had offered Rs. 450 crores to YRF for direct-to-digital release of the said films. However, Aditya Chopra of YRF was always wanted his films to have theatrical release first.## Apart from the 4 aforementioned films, Prime Video has reportedly acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights of YRF's two more most-awaited films - Tiger 3 and Pathan. However, neither Prime Video nor YRF made an official announcement regarding the two films but it is said that the two companies reached a deal that will give access to Prime Video to stream Tiger 3 and Pathan after 8-weeks of theatrical release. ## Salman Khan starrer "Tiger 3" and Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathan" are undoubtedly the biggest projects in the YRF slate and these two films will hold great value even after theatrical release. According to reports, Prime Video was keen to bag both and offered a whopping Rs 200 crores offer for 8-weeks theatrical window. While the details of their third collaboration will be revealed soon, it is an untitled film pegged for a theatrical release. ## "It is reassuring to be working with like-minded people. The viewers are in for a surprise", Vidyut said. ## Vidyut and Panorama studios' first film together, "Khuda Haafiz" was a direct-to-digital released in 2020. The success of the film paved the way for its sequel, which is titled "Khuda Haafiz Chapter II Agni Pariksha". Prime Video has exclusively signed a deal with YRF for 4 most anticipated upcoming films that include Bunty Aur Babli 2, Prithviraj, Jayeshbhai Jordaar, and Shamshera for their streaming after 4 weeks of theatrical release. ## While the aforementioned films have been made official, Amazon has reportedly grabbed two more YRF films. According to reports, YRF's in-production big-budget films - Salman Khan starrer "Tiger 3" and Shah Rukh Khan's comeback film "Pathan" will be available to stream on Prime Video after 8-weeks of theatrical release. ## Reports claim that Amazon has paid a whopping Rs. 200 crores to beg the streaming rights of Tiger 3 and Pathan, which are one of the most-awaited Indian films. Both the films are currently on floors and in their final legs of shooting schedules. ## The third installment of the Tiger film franchise, Tiger 3, will see Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif reprising their roles as RAW and ISI agents respectively. The spy actioner will also feature Emraan Hashmi as the antagonist, however, the official announcement regarding his inclusion is yet to be made. The movie is being directed by Maneesh Sharma. ## Pathan, on the other hand, marks Shah Rukh Khan's return on the big screen after almost three years. SRK has been shooting since the last year on this action thriller which also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in prominent roles. Mumbai, October 28 - The leading Hindi film production studio, Yash Raj Films has locked the streaming partner for its 4 upcoming films. The studio, which will release Bunty Aur Babli 2 (Nov. 19), Prithviraj (Jan. 21, 2022), Jayeshbhai Jordaar (Feb. 25, 2022), and Shamshera (Mar. 18, 2022) in the next five months, has inked a deal with Amazon Prime Video for the post-theatrical premiere. ## According to the deal, Amazon Prime Video will have the rights to stream the aforementioned films on its platform 4 weeks after their theatrical release. Amazon has been the first choice destination for Indian films in the last one and a half years. Lucknow, October 27 - Uttar Pradesh is set to get its first-ever drive-in theatre on Diwali. With a capacity of 200 cars, the drive-in theatre in Lucknow's Sarojini Nagar area is expected to draw a big crowd on Diwali. People can watch movies from the comfort of their cars while enjoying food and other amenities.## Lucknow-based commercial pilot and businessman, Nitish Kanda, who started the venture, said, "This will be a new experience not just for the city but for the entire state as this is the first drive-in theatre in Uttar Pradesh. We have installed a digital LED screen with 40 by 20 ft dimensions which also works well in sunlight. For the time being, we will have evening and night shows".## The district administration and the municipal corporation have granted permission for the facility and tickets will be available both online and offline.## "The digital LED screen promises better picture quality over a projector. It also gives a 180-degree equal view from all angles. The movie was recently announced with Rajkummar Rao as the lead male hero of the film. And now, the makers have confirmed Bhumi Pednekar as the female leading lady opposite Rao. ## "Bheed" marks the second collaboration between Bhumi and Rao after the social comedy-drama film "Badhaai Do", which is yet to release. It is also the first time both the leading actors are teaming up with Anubhav Sinha, who is known for making groundbreaking films such as Article 15, Mulk, Thappad, Anek, among others. ## "Bheed" will jointly be produced by Bhushan Kumar's T-Series and Anubhav Sinha's Benaras Mediaworks. It also got over 507K likes. ## Satyameva Jayate 2 features John Abraham in a triple role for the first time. The trailer gives glimpses of his looks as Vijay Singh Azaad / Satya Prakash Azaad / Jaideep "Jai" Azaad. Based on the fight against injustice and misuse of power, the movie also stars Divya Khosla Kumar in the female lead role along with Gautami Kapoor, Sahil Vaid, Harsh Chhaya, and Anup Soni among others. His last released film and first since Baahubali 2, "Saaho" was although declared average at the box office, it grossed over Rs. 450 crores worldwide and was one of the highest-grossing Indian films worldwide in 2019. ## Such has been the confidence of the producers that they are ready to invest millions in Prabhas' name and he has delivered every time. Salaar - Written and directed by the KGF fame Prashanth Neel, Salaar is a Telugu-Kannada bilingual film that is currently under production. The dark action-thriller will see Prabhas playing the title role with Shruti Haasan playing the female lead and Jagapathi Babu as antagonist Rajamanaar. It is produced by Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films [KGF] and is currently scheduled to release on April 14, 2022, in Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam. ## 3. Adipurush - One of the biggest if not the biggest film of Prabhas' career, Adipurush, is the feature film adaptation of Hindu epic "Ramayan", in which Prabhas plays the role of Lord Ram. The movie is currently on floors under the direction of Tanhaji fame Om Raut. Touted to be India's biggest film in terms of budget (approx. Rs. 500 crores), Adipurush also stars Kriti Sanon as Janaki/Sita, Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh/Ravan, and Sunny Singh in prominent roles. Produced by T-Series, and Retrophiles, Adipurush is being shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi languages and will be hitting worldwide screens on August 11, 2022, in multiple languages. ## 4. Project K (working title) - A sci-fi film, which is reportedly set in a futuristic timeline against the backdrop of the third world war, Project K is going to be a unique film in Prabhas' career. Director Nag Ashwin, best known for helming Keerthy Suresh's Mahanati, has come up with a stunning subject to surprise the audience. It also stars legendary Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone in prominent roles. Produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, Project K is expected to begin regular shoot from December this year and it will take at least a year to make ready for release. ## 5. Spirit - Producer Bhushan Kumar of T-Series recently announced his 4th collaboration with Prabhas for the later's landmark 25h film. The film, titled Spirit, might see Prabhas' playing a cop for the first time in his film career and it will be directed by Kabir Singh and Arjun Reddy director Sandeep Reddy Vanga. It will be the first Indian film to release in 7 Indian and foreign languages including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Japanese, Chinese & Korean. The shooting of the film is expected to begin in late 2022 or early 2023. ## While the aforementioned projects have been confirmed to be headlined by Prabhas, there are rumours that the actor will also be teaming up with director Siddharth Anand for an action film.
