Chennai, November 7 - Tamil Diwali blockbuster "Annaatthe" starring superstar Rajinikanth has taken the worldwide box office by storm. The action drama film, directed by Siva, is having a superb run at the Indian as well as overseas box office and crossed the Rs. 100 crores mark in just three days of release. ## Touted as an outright mass entertainer, "Annaatthe", took the opening of Rs. 50.70 crores worldwide, including Rs. 35.28 crores gross in India. The film maintained a superb hold in the next two days and it currently stands at Rs. 104 crores worldwide gross including Rs. 79 crores in India alone in both Tamil and Telugu versions. ## Produced by Sun Pictures, "Annaatthe" grossed Rs. 64 crores in Tamil Nadu state alone, followed by Karnataka (7.4 cr.), AP/TG (4.4 cr.), Kerala (1.6 cr.), and the rest of India (1.4 cr.). "Annaatthe" also becomes the 9th Rs. 100 crores worldwide grosser for Rajinikanth, which is a record in Tamil cinema.## "Annaatthe" released over 3000 screens in India and over 1100 theaters overseas. Mumbai, November 6 - For the first time in 18 months, the Bollywood film industry has lightened up, thanks to Rohit Shetty-directed "Sooryavanshi", which opened to a huge Rs. 26.29 crores net.## Interestingly, this Akshay Kumar-fronted was supposed to release in March 2020, before the covid-19 pandemic showed its true colors, and now, after 1 and a half years, it becomes the reason behind Bollywood's first step towards its revival. ## The 4th film in Rohit Shetty's cop-drama, "Sooryavanshi" becomes the second-biggest opening day collection film for Akshay Kumar, behind "Mission Mangal" (2019), which earned Rs. 29.16 crores net (+10%), and ahead of third-best "Gold", which debuted with Rs. 25.25 crores (-4.11%). ## "Sooryavanshi" also becomes the top opening day grosser, since Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff-starrer "War" (2019). Mumbai, November 6 - Akshay Kumar-starrer "Sooryavanshi" has created records in many ways, and one of them was recorded on the ticketing site, Book My Show. ## The website officially announced that over 700K tickets of Rohit Shetty-directed were sold in less than 24 hours on November 5, 17 tickets per second, making it the highest ever peak for a Hindi movie on Book My Show. The advance booking for Sooryavanshi in the multiplex chains was opened late on November 4, which was one of the reasons for the heavy traffic on the site. ## Apart from "Sooryavanshi", Book My Show also revealed that over 1 million tickets of Tamil movie "Annaatthe" starring superstar Rajinikanth, were sold as of November 5. This makes "Annaatthe" the first Indian movie to sell over 1 million tickets on BMS after the second covid-19 wave. ## Marvel Studios', "Eternals", too was in the race and sold over 500K tickets during the said time. The is also the best response to a Hollywood picture in India since the start of the covid-19 pandemic. Mumbai, November 5 - Rohit Shetty's "Sooryavanshi" featuring Akshay Kumar in the title role has been released in theaters on November 5 and it opened to a roaring response at the box office. "Sooryavanshi" is the 4th film in Shetty's cop universe, which began with Ajay Devgn-fronted "Singham" (2011). ## The sequel to Singham was released in 2014, titled "Singham Returns", and since then, there have been reports hinting about the third installment in the Singham franchise, but the film wasn't made official. However, with Sooryavanshi's release, Rohit Shetty has reportedly revealed the plans of Singham 3. ## "Singham was set in Goa, followed by Singham Returns which went a notch higher with the premise being set in Mumbai. And now, Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn are all set to take things to the next level as Singham 3 is set again the backdrop of terrorism with the protagonist traveling all the way to Pakistan to grab hold of terror outfits", a source told Pinkvilla. ## The story of Singham 3 is said to begin where Sooryavanshi ended and the film will see the royal face between Singham (Ajay Devgn) and Jackie Shroff. "The lion-hearted cop will be off to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir to trace down the head of terror outfits, who have an eye to destroy India from the world map", the source added.## In Simmba, featuring Ranveer Singh in the title role, Ajay Devgn played a cameo as Singham, and now in Sooryavanshi, both Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh played extended cameos in their respective cop roles. In Singham 3, the other two cops are likely to feature and join Ajay Devgn to take on the terrorists.## Singham 3 will go on floors in the last quarter of 2022, most likely by November, once Ajay completes his current slate of releases. Mumbai, November 4 - Bollywood biggie is going massive in overseas markets. As mentioned earlier, Rohit Shetty's directorial will receive a big 1300-screen release in 66 countries on November 5. It is the biggest overseas release for an Indian film during the covid-19 pandemic, pipping the 1,190+ screen release for "Annaatthe" starring Rajinikanth.## The continuation of Shetty's Cop Universe, "Sooryavanshi" will release on 520 screens in North America in 490 locations, followed by 137 screens in the United Arab Emirates and 107 screens in Australia. It will release at 158 locations across Europe, including 29 screens in France, 36 screens in Germany, 20 screens in Spain, and 19 screens in Italy.## Israel, Japan, Chile, Egypt, Iraq, and Djibouti are amongst the new non-traditional countries for a Bollywood movie where the film will be released on day and date. Based on the life of 2008 Mumbai attacks martyr Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, the movie, starring Adivi Sesh in the title role of the braveheart, will be released on February 11, 2022, in Hindi, and Telugu, along with a dubbed version of Malayalam, worldwide.## Directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka, "Major" also stars Sobhita Dhulipala, and Saiee Manjrekar in the female leads while Prakash Raj, Revathi, and Murli Sharma play supporting roles. Based on the true events in the 1970s, the movie will be hitting theaters worldwide on May 13th, 2022. ## Directed by the ad maker Shantanu Bagchi, "Mission Majnu" marks actress Rashmika Mandanna's debut in Bollywood. She has been paired opposite Sidharth in the female lead role. Mumbai, October 31 - Ahead of the big theatrical release of Rohit Shetty's cop drama "Sooryavanshi", the governments of Uttar Pradesh, Gujrat, among the few others, have permitted 100% occupancy in theaters. ## As of now, 9 states have allowed theaters to operate with full capacity, and half of them fall in North India, which is a great sign for the "Sooryavanshi" release. West Bengal has allowed 70% occupancy while Punjab theaters are allowed to run with 2/3 (66%) of full capacity. The biggest movie market for Hindi cinema, Maharashtra has permitted cinema halls to run with 50% capacity. ## "Sooryavanshi" release date was finalized after the announcement of theaters reopening in Maharashtra.
