Mumbai, January 3 - Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, on a couple of occasions, has confirmed the next installment of the Dabangg film franchise. It was recently revealed that Tigmanshu Dhulia has been writing the script of "Dabangg 4", and according to the latest reports, the talented filmmaker will also be donning the director's hat for cop-comedy drama film. ## "Bhai has asked Tigmanshu to re-write the cop Chulbul Pandey role. Chulbul will still be a lot of fun. But not a masti-khore like he used to be. Given his growing years, Salman wants Chulbul and the plot to take a more serious route this time", a Wion report states.## Interestingly, the first three Dabangg films were directed by three different directors, such as Abhinav Kashyap, Arbaaz Khan, and Prabhudheva. Ranveer Singh Reveals He Was Approached For The Hindi Remake Of SS Rajamouli's 'Magadheera'

Mumbai, January 1 - Bollywood star Ranveer Singh is winning accolades for the portrayal of the legendary cricketer Kapil Dev in the recently released "83" film. The Kabir Khan-directed, which is based on India's maiden ODI world cup triumph in 1983, is currently playing in theaters and nearing Rs. 150 crores at the worldwide box office. ## Ranveer Singh is one of the young Bollywood actors who has worked with some of the finest Bollywood directors in his little over a decade-long career. The 36-year old actor, however, has a desire to work with South Indian filmmakers and is fascinated by Southern films. He named some of his most favorite South Indian films - Mahanati, Super Deluxe, Kumbalangi Nights, Magadheera, among others. ## The "Padmaavat" actor in an interview with Film Companion revealed that he was approached for the Hindi remake of SS Rajamouli's blockbuster "Magadheera", starring Ram Charan in the lead role. While he didn't name the filmmaker he was approached by, Ranveer said that the filmmaker tried to remake Magadheera with him, but things didn't work out. ## "I wanted to do Magadheera for the longest time. Reincarnation is my jam! Magadheera has just such a cinematic flair. Somebody was trying to remake it with me. They gave me a VCD of Magadheera. Watching it in my room alone in the early hours one morning and I was crying and clapping. It's three in the morning and I’m alone in bed watching it on my television screen", said Ranveer. ## "That's the setting and I still find myself reacting so much to it. It was, at the time, one of the best cinematic experiences. I would have loved for the Magadheera remake to have worked out, but it didn't. But never say never. I am very interested in doing something with the reincarnation theme", he added. ## Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh will be teaming up with "Robot" director Shankar with the Hindi remake of "Anniyan". It will also feature Kiara Advani as the female lead and will be produced by Pen Studios and co-produced by God Bless Entertainment. The movie will go on floors in the second half of 2022. ## Apart from the "Anniyan" remake, Ranveer currently has three films in the pipeline. His "Jayeshbhai Jordaar" with debutante director Divyang Thakkar is slated for February 25, 2022, release. It features "Arjun Reddy" fame Shalini Pandey as the female lead. Mumbai, January 1 - Rohit Shetty remains the only Hindi filmmaker during the covid-19 pandemic to deliver a super hit film in the form of "Sooryavanshi". The maverick filmmaker is now gearing up for his next directorial, "Cirkus", starring Ranveer Singh in the lead role alongside Pooja Hegde and Jacqueline Fernandez as the female leads. ## "Cirkus", which marks Rohit Shetty's first comedy directorial outside his Golmaal franchise, is said to be an adaptation of William Shakespeare's play The Comedy of Errors. The release date of "Cirkus" wasn't announced officially but it was said that the movie will come out on July 15, 2022. However, Rohit Shetty doesn't seem to be in a hurry to release his next as he thinks other producers, who have held back the release of their films, should get a chance for at least 6-7 months. ## "We have not announced the release date for Cirkus. It's speculation that we are releasing in theatres on July 15, 2022. We are still considering the date and will announce it soon when we get the right one. I could have announced Cirkus on any date as I was the first person who knew that the theatres are going to open but I felt that one needs to also give other producers a chance too, for six-seven months", said the filmmaker according to Pinkvilla.## "Cirkus is ready. Too much of movies overlapping, is also not good for the film industry and there is a lot of backlog of films, including RRR, Runway 34, Gangubai Kathiawadi, for two years so let them release first and then I will come. I will not come before July-August for sure so that other producers will get at least six months' space", he added. ## "Cirkus" is produced by Reliance Entertainment, T-Series, and Rohit Shetty Picturez. The movie features Ranveer Singh playing a double role for the first time in his career while it also stars Varun Sharma in a pivotal role. Mumbai, December 29 - Ranveer Singh-led cricket biopic, "83" has become the second Bollywood film during the covid-19 pandemic to gross Rs. 100 crores worldwide. The first film to reach the milestone and of course, finishing far ahead of it is Akshay Kumar's "Sooryavanshi", which will also finish 2021 as the highest-grossing Indian film of the year with a total worldwide total of Rs. 293 crores. ## The Kabir Khan-directed "83", meanwhile, has earned Rs. 107.89 crores so far in just 5 days. At the Indian box office, it has grossed Rs. 71.98 crores for all languages while at the overseas, it minted Rs. 35.91 crores. Before "83" and "Sooryavanshi", Tiger Shroff's "Baaghi 3" (March 2020) was the last film to reach the Rs. 100 crores worldwide. ## Though the box office numbers of "83" aren't as strong as those of "Sooryavanshi" (at the same time), the movie hasn't disappointed with whatever it has managed to collect, knowing the circumstances it is playing currently in theaters. "Sooryavanshi" had enjoyed almost a free run for at least two weeks at the box office, plus, the second wave was almost died down by then.## "83", which was one of the two films with "Sooryavanshi" to hold back for nearly two years for the theatrical release, however, unlike "Sooryavanshi" is facing a double clash with "Spider-Man: No Way Home" and "Pushpa - The Rise", plus, the threat of the third wave is growing day by day, which is leading to night curfews and theaters shut down in the some of the states.## The makers of "83", meanwhile, will enjoy the postponement announcement of Shahid Kapoor's "Jersey", which was slated for December 31st release. Mumbai, December 29 - Akshay Kumar-fronted cop-drama "Sooryavanshi" will finish 2021 as the highest-grossing Indian film of the year. The Rohit Shetty-directed stood tall among most of the films during the covid-19 pandemic year and delivered what the film industry had hoped from this biggie. ## "Sooryavanshi" was supposed to release in March 2020. However, the covid-19 pandemic left the makers with no choice but to postpone it. It was later announced for April 30, 2022, and once again, the second wave of the pandemic delayed the plans. ## Just when the rumors started making noises about the "Sooryavanshi's" direct OTT release, the makers announced its theatrical release on the occasion of Diwali after cinemas in Maharashtra were permitted to operate from October 22. And this time, things went as per plan and the film finally saw the light at the end of the tunnel and was released on November 5.## "Sooryavanshi" was Bollywood's best foot forward to bring the audiences back to theaters in large numbers and to their grace, the audience rushed to theaters to watch the film. The movie took the opening of Rs. 26.29 crores, which delighted the entire film industry and exhibitors. It carried the momentum and finished the 3-day opening weekend on high with Rs. 77.06 crores, followed by Rs. 120.66 crores first full week. ## The 4th film in Rohit Shetty's cop universe had another excellent second week with Rs. 45.57 crores. The first two week's collection of "Sooryavanshi" wasn't surprising as it enjoyed a solo release before the next Bollywood release on November 19. Even after new releases, the strong word of mouth helped it to dominate the collection in the following weeks. In the next 4 weeks, "Sooryavanshi" netted Rs. 29.10 crores, despite the competition with other releases, plus, the movie was made available on Netflix after 28 days.## "Sooryavashi" kept pushing towards Rs. 200 crores mark, it finally ended its entire box office India run at approx Rs. 196 crores net. Overseas, the movie grossed Rs. 62.3 crores, helping its worldwide total to finish at approx 293 crores gross. It is produced by Dharma Productions, Reliance Entertainment, Rohit Shetty Productions, and Cape Of Good Films.## It will finish as the highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2021. It also becomes Akshay's first HGOTY of his career after coming close to it in the past. It also stars Katrina Kaif as the female lead, and this marks her 3rd film to finish as HGOTY. The actor is said to have liked the story and has agreed to be a part of the project. The paperwork and other formalities are being finalized at the moment. The shoot of the film will commence in 2022. ## "Kala Shah Kala" is 2019's romantic-comedy film, starring Binnu Dhillon, Sargun Mehta, and Jordan Sandhu in the lead roles. It follows the story of Lovely, a happy and charming guy who struggles to find the love of his life because of his dark complexion. The movie also starred Shehnaaz Kaur Gill in a supporting role. Mumbai, December 28 - The South Indian films are expanding their wings in the Hindi-speaking market and even edging ahead of most of the outright Bollywood titles. After testing the blockbuster success with "Baahubali" and "KGF", another South Indian film in the form of "Pushpa - The Rise" has emerged as a successful affair in Hindi. ## "Pushpa - The Rise" marks Telugu superstar Allu Arjun's maiden Pan-India outing, and he couldn't have asked for a bigger and better launch in other languages, especially in Hindi. The Sukumar-directed is having a consistent run at the Hindi box office, earning approx Rs. 39.66 crores in the first 11 days, despite the limited shows and tough competition with biggies, likes "83" and "Spider-Man: No Way Home". ## The action-thriller film has shown a tremendous hold at the Hindi box office over the 11 days and didn't drop a single sign of going to the back seat. Before the second week completes, "Pushpa - The Rise" should cross Yash-starrer Kannada film, "KGF: Chapter 1's" lifetime Hindi net total of Rs. 44.42 crores and emerge as the second biggest Hindi (dubbed) launch of a South India actor.## Prabhas's "Baahubali - The Beginning" (2015) is currently the highest-grossing debut Pan-India film in Hindi for a South Indian actor. This record, however, is likely to be shattered by the upcoming SS Rajamouli's "RRR", which is scheduled to release on January 7. ## "Pushpa - The Rise", meanwhile, is likely to continue its strong run before "RRR" arrives, and will aim to cross Rs. 50 crore (looks inevitable) lifetime Hindi total to emerge as a superhit outing. Currently shooting for "Tiger 3", the superstar, on his 56th birthday today, confirmed a number of his upcoming films that include, "Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2", "No Entry 2", "Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali", and the biopic of spy agent Ravindra Kaushik a.k.a. Black Tiger. ## While the actor has given an almost clearer picture about his future projects, the one film that he didn't announce with the aforementioned films is "Ready 2". The sequel to this 2011's action-comedy was first announced in July 2018, but since then there is no development on the projects due to various reasons including the covid-19 pandemic effect. ## Even though Salman hasn't spoken about the "Ready" sequel, the writer of the film, Kona Venkat has sparked speculations about the same in his latest social media post.
