Bangalore, November 2 - Actor Puneeth Rajkumar, whose sudden demise has left the film fraternity and his fans in deep shock, will last be seen on the big screen in the upcoming Kannada action film "James". The actor had almost completed the shoot of James except for a song and an action sequence, which the makers have now decided to let go of. ## Directed by Chethan Kumar, James will be Puneeth's last commercial film. The makers had planned to release the film on his birth anniversary on March 17, and they will likely go with their initial plan to release the film. ## "Fans were expecting the film to release on March 17, which happens to be Puneeth's birth anniversary. We, as a team, are yet to recover from this unexpected shock, but I assure fans that they will not be disappointed. We will soon meet after all the ceremonies and formalities here are finished to discuss the next course of action for the completion of the film. I had waited all my life to direct Puneeth in a film, but I cannot fathom that it will now end up being his last", said director Chethan Kumar. ## The director said that he considered himself lucky to direct the late actor but miserable that James will be the last film with the actor. "Leaving aside the film, Appu being no more is itself a huge loss to me, and will carry this pain to the grave", he added. ## Puneeth Rajkumar was last seen in Yuvarathnaa, which was released in April this year. After Yuvarathnaa, he signed one more film with Hombale Films, for which, the shoot was scheduled to begin this month. Bangalore, November 2 - It has been three days since Kannada superstar, Puneeth Rajkumar's death due to the sudden cardiac arrest and he left for heavenly abode at 46. After the tragic death of a talented actor, his eyes were donated, and now, his eyes have given a new lease of life to four young people. ## Rajkumar's eyes were successfully planted to four people, including 3 males and 1 female. However, in order to abide by the rules and protect the privacy of the patients, much details on them weren't disclosed by the hospital, except that all four are between the age of 20 and 30. ## Each eye of the late actor was used to treat two patients. The superior and deeper layers of the cornea were separated. The superior layer was transplanted to two patients who had the superficial corneal disease, and only the deeper layer was transplanted to patients with endothelial or deep corneal layer disease. This, according to the hospital, is quite a rare occurrence.## "All four patients are in between 20 and 30 years of age. They were on the waiting list for over 6 months now. Due to Covid-19, eye donations had stopped completely. Earlier, we used to do at least 200 transplant surgeries per month in our hospital. Things are getting better for the past 2-3 months. But the waiting list is long. So we made the best use of available eyes and instead of two, we were able to do the successful transplant in 4 patients," said Dr. Bhujang Shetty, Chairman, Narayana Nethralaya to News18.## Puneeth Rajkumar was active in many humanitarian works. He was bearing the cost of over 1800 students and was running 26 Orphanages, and 16 Old age homes. He had also provided medical help to many people over the years. Bangalore, October 29 - In shocking turns of events, Kannada superstar Puneeth Rajkumar passed away on Friday at the age of 46. The actor suffered a massive heart attack in the morning was admitted to a private hospital in Bengaluru.## Puneeth Rajkumar developed chest pain in the morning and visited his family doctor for an ECG. Following the ECG, he was asked to rush to the hospital. He was admitted to Vikram Hospital’s ICU in a serious condition around 11.30 am, a doctor at the hospital said.## Karnataka minister Dr. CN Ashwathnarayan confirmed the news to PTI. "He had accomplished immensely from an early age. Bangalore, October 23 - First time since Darshan's "Roberrt" and Puneeth Rajkumar-led "Yuvarathnaa", the Kannada Film Industry is having a sigh of relief. It has been a hard time for the South Indian film industry because of the covid-19 pandemic, but now, it is looking for revival, all thanks to the much-needed boost from the recently released Kotigobba 3 and Salaga. ## The long-awaited Kichcha Sudeepa starrer "Kotigobba 3" might have faced financial issues before its release on October 15, it has brought joy to the industry with a solid box office response. With strong Rs. 27 crores India gross at the box office in the first 8 days, the Shiva Karthik-directed has become one of the top grossers after the second covid-19 wave India. ## On the other hand, Duniya Vijay-fronted and directed "Salaga", which opened a day earlier on October 14, is doing well at the Karnataka box office. So far, the crime thriller has grossed approx Rs. 17.50 crores in the first 9-days and have been declared hit at the box office. It also stars Dhananjay, Nagabhushan, and Sanjana Anand in key roles. ## Two big Kannada films running to packed houses across Karnataka are good news for theatre owners, many of whom were on the verge of closing down because of the pandemic and no big-ticket fresh releases. "Both films enjoying full occupancy at 90 percent of all centers for five days is a big development", says K V Chandrashekar, chairman of Kannada Exhibitors Association.## In the pandemic-hit year, Darshan starrer actioner "Roberrt" remains the highest-grossing Kannada film. It was released on 11 March and grossed over Rs. 69 crores worldwide and was declared super hit at the box office. Dhruva Sarja, and Rashmika Mandanna's "Pogaru" remain the second-highest Kannada film of 2021 with Rs. 45.10 crores worldwide while Puneeth Rajkumar and Sayyeshaa Saigal's "Yuvarathnaa" is at number 3 with Rs. 38.70 crores worldwide gross in 15 days. It was made available on Amazon Prime Video only after 9 days of theatrical release. ## Among the upcoming Kannada films, the industry has high hopes for Dr. Shivarajkumar's "Bhajarangi 2", which opens on October 29. The fantasy action film got a homogenous response for the trailer which promises a visual extravaganza film to watch on the big screen. Bangalore, October 14 - The big-ticket Kannada film, Kotigobba 3 starring Kichcha Sudeepa was all set to release worldwide today on October 14. However, the financial issues between the producer and distributors played a spoilsport as the morning shows for the film got canceled.## Reportedly, the film's producer, Soorappa Babu, hasn't paid one of the film's financiers because of which the early morning shows have been canceled. This unfortunate situation left Kichcha's fans in anger as they raised slogans demanding the immediate release of the film and refused to leave theaters.## Now, Kichcha Sudeepa released a statement asking his fans to be patient and not damage the theatres. The actor also apologizes for the negligence from the cornered people and promised that his future films will not see such chaotic releases. The makers, on Saturday (July 31), unveiled the first look poster of Jacquline as Gadang Rakkamma from the film that stars Kichcha Sudeep in the lead role. ## Written and directed by Anup Bhandari, Jacquline Fernandez will feature in an extended cameo appearance in the movie while Nirup Bhandari and debutante Neetha Ashok stars in the lead roles. His last release, Yuvarathnaa, was his first collaboration with the producers. The movie was released on April 1st, however, after only 8 days of theatrical release, the action entertainer moved to Amazon Prime Video from April 9 due to covid-19 restrictions on theaters. ## Meanwhile, Hombale Films is on the winning spray. The production house has some of the most awaited movies in the pipeline with Yash starrer K.G.F. Chapter 2 and Prabhas' Salaar. While K.G.F. 2 is expected to release in September this year, Salaar will come out next year on 14 April. Both the movies will be releasing in multiple languages. National Award Winning Kannada Actor Sanchari Vijay Dies After Accident

Bengaluru, June 14, 2021: National Award-winning Kannada Actor, Sanchari Vijay, has been died after an accident. The actor met with an accident while he was returning home from his friend's place on June 12. He was moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Apollo Hospital in Bengaluru, where he was declared brain dead today on June 14. ## Sanchari's family has decided to donate his organs in light of the irreversible brain damage. A statement from Apollo Hospital in Bengaluru said, "Neurologically he is deeply unconscious and is showing signs of brain failure. The family had come forward and consented to organ donation keeping in view the current irreversible brain damage. We will follow the guidelines as per organ donation protocol". ## Sanchari Vijay made his debut with the film Rangappa Hogbitna in 2011. He has appeared in a slew of Kannada films including Dasavala, Harivu, Oggarane, Killing Veerappan, Varthamana, and Sipaayi among others. The actor won the National Award for his role as a transgender in his 2015 movie, Naanu Avanalla Avalu. ## Kannada superstar, Kichcha Sudeep took to Twitter and announced the news of Sanchari Vijay and paid tribute to the young actor who gone too soon. "Very very disheartening to accept that Sanchari Vijay breathed his last. Met him couple of times just bfr this lockdown,,,, all excited about his nxt film,, tats due for release. Very sad. Deepest Condolences to his family and friends.
