Late Puneeth Rajkumar's Last Film 'James' To Release On His Birth Anniversary!

Bangalore, November 2 - Actor Puneeth Rajkumar, whose sudden demise has left the film fraternity and his fans in deep shock, will last be seen on the big screen in the upcoming Kannada action film "James". The actor had almost completed the shoot of James except for a song and an action sequence, which the makers have now decided to let go of.

Directed by Chethan Kumar, James will be Puneeth's last commercial film. The makers had planned to release the film on his birth anniversary on March 17, and they will likely go with their initial plan to release the film.



"Fans were expecting the film to release on March 17, which happens to be Puneeth's birth anniversary. We, as a team, are yet to recover from this unexpected shock, but I assure fans that they will not be disappointed. We will soon meet after all the ceremonies and formalities here are finished to discuss the next course of action for the completion of the film. I had waited all my life to direct Puneeth in a film, but I cannot fathom that it will now end up being his last", said director Chethan Kumar.

The director said that he considered himself lucky to direct the late actor but miserable that James will be the last film with the actor. "Leaving aside the film, Appu being no more is itself a huge loss to me, and will carry this pain to the grave", he added.

Puneeth Rajkumar was last seen in Yuvarathnaa, which was released in April this year. After Yuvarathnaa, he signed one more film with Hombale Films, for which, the shoot was scheduled to begin this month. He had also reportedly green-lit around seven projects which included films with directors Pawan Kumar, Jacob Verghese, Santhosh Ananddram, Dinakar Thoogudeepa, S Krishna among others.
