Los Angeles, March 22 - The fourth installment of the neo-noir action thriller franchise John Wick is looking all set to conquer the box office this weekend. ## The Lionsgate/Thunder Road Films/87 Eleven's John Wick: Chapter 4 is aiming at a record opening for the franchise with $120+ million worldwide weekend. At the domestic (North America) box office, John Wick 4 is projected to start with $70+ million and about $55+ million internationally. ## The Keanu Reeves-fronted 'R' rated flick is flying high with critics' reviews. It is the best-reviewed John Wick movie among all four with a critics' score of 96% and certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. The all-important audience score too is super solid with 96% currently.## The last film of the franchise, "John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum" (2019) grossed $171 million domestically after scoring the franchise's biggest opening weekend of $57 million. 'Shazam' Star Zachary Levi Slams DC's Toxic Fandom

Los Angeles, March 21 - Shazam! Fury of the Gods star Zachary Levi has slammed DC fandom for spreading unnecessary hate and negativity for DCEU films. ## As the SnyderVerse era is nearing its end before a new DCU will begin in earnest with Superman: Legacy under James Gunn, these changing dynamics are not going well with the passionate DC fans who are rejecting anything that is not connected to Zack Snyder's vision for DCEU.## It all began with Snyder's Cut of Justice League, which wasn't the result of organic filmmaking but extreme fan movement. Later, Warner Bros. reportedly accepted that surrendering to the fan movement was a major mistake the studio did and things went from bad to worse which forced the studio to start from the beginning. ## In the earlier, interview, Levi explained why SnyderVerse didn't prove to be good for DC as it failed to tap into a larger audience when compared to the MCU. Now, in a new interview with Josh Horowitz's The Happy Sad Confused podcast (via The Direct), Levi called out DC fandom for continuously being negative. ## "It's very very difficult. It's very difficult, but, you know, listen, I did my best, I have to accept that, I know that I did my best, and all the other stuff is out of your hands. But yeah I mean even on Twitter today, scrolling through, there's people that have released some advanced reviews, or just you know fans who have seen it, and there's this incredibly positive stuff out there. And then, of course, there's these other people, like the internet is full of, which is a very just negative to be negative people", he said.## The actor pointed out to one particular group of fans, and said, "There's a whole contingent of comic book fans that it's really unfortunate that there's this one particular group of people that think I... well, they don't like me because I don't agree with them on other comic book movies. You know who I'm talking about". ## "But instead of there being a conversation, they take up so many of my words, or things completely out of context, and then they go stir up all the other people that they know online, and they all just want to attack, and attack, and attack, and attack. And it's really sad because this is just one example of so many examples of the amount of just venom, toxicity, and bullying that goes on in these cyber dimensions", he added.## The actor's latest superhero flick, "Shazam! Los Angeles, March 19 - DC Studios' latest superhero movie, Shazam Fury Of The Gods fails to fly high at the domestic (North America) as well as the overseas box office and fell short of the expectations. ## The sequel to the successful 2019's film opened at number 1 on the domestic opening weekend with $30.5 million, according to Variety. It was, however, projected to start with around $40 million, which was still lower than the opening of its predecessor which debuted with $53.50 million. ## Not only just domestically, but the Shazam sequel also opened lower than expected internationally, grossing $35 million from 77 markets for a global start of $65.5 million. It was projected for, at least, an $80+ million worldwide launch. ## The buzz for Shazam 2 was already low and the critics' reviews too were against it which made the job tougher for it. It landed a B+ CinemaScore, down from the first film's A grade. And it holds 53% on Rotten Tomatoes, an epic decline from the original's 90% average. ## Among the overseas markets of Shazam 2, China leads with a $4.4 million opening weekend, followed by Mexico with $4 million and the UK with $3 million. And now, it has received ultimate praise from one of the biggest movie stars in the world, Tom Cruise. ## Tom Cruise is said to be an actor who is very hard to please but even he couldn't stop himself from raving about "The Flash" after reportedly watching it privately. ## According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cruise has seen the movie and loved it so much that he called the movie's director, Andy Muschietti, to rave about it. It is said that the superstar had a meeting with Warner Bros. The movie, however, was offered to him to direct years ago but he initially denied it saying "I didn't have a way in that felt unique and fun and emotional that gave Superman the dignity he deserved".## "Then a bit less than a year ago I saw a way in, in many ways centering around Superman's heritage - how both his aristocratic Kryptonian parents and his Kansas farmer parents inform who he is and the choices he makes", Gunn tweeted.## "So I chose to finally take on writing the script. Sandberg, the sequel to Shazam! (2019) will be released in 77 international markets along with domestic this weekend. At the domestic (North America) box office, Shazam 2 will be released at approx. 4300 theaters, and as per the Deadline, it could open between $35 million - $40 million on the opening weekend. ## Internationally, Fury of the Gods will start rolling out from Wednesday to Friday and it is projected to be a $45 million - $50 million offshore start. Overall, the sequel is tracking an $80+ million worldwide opening ($80M - $85M), which is lower than the 2019 original ($53.5M domestic, $102M WW).## Shazam 2, however, might surprise at the North American box office, much like Creed III and Scream VI, which blew away the box office projections with openings of $58.3 million and $44.4 million, respectively over the last two weekends. ## Starring Zachary Levi in the titular role, Fury Of The Gods shows Billy Batson and his foster siblings, who transform into superheroes by saying "Shazam!", forced to get back into action and fight the Daughters of Atlas. Jordan's directorial debut Creed III which also sees him starring in the lead role alongside Jonathan Majors and Tessa Thompson, packs a powerful punch at the domestic as well as overseas box office. ## The sports drama is set to score the biggest opening weekend for the "Creed" and "Rocky" film franchises after a super impressive $22 million opening Friday (including $5.45M in previews) at the domestic (North America) box office. It has done exceedingly well on Saturday and Sunday to put an estimated $58.6 million opening weekend.## "Creed 3" was projected to score $38 million - $40 million on opening weekend, which was still the highest in the franchise, but the phenomenal response to the movie is set to see it overcoming those pretty good projections. The audience CinemaScore of the movie is a solid A-, which is on par with DCEU's "The Batman" which was released last year. ## According to Deadline, "Creed 3" overperformed in the East and the South, however, it was strong throughout the domestic market. Moviegoer make-up was 63% guys, 55% between 18-34, and 29% between 35-54. "Creed 3" was 65% under 35, which is very similar to Creed II's 66% turnout for that crowd.## The international collection of "Creed 3" are also super solid with a $41.8 million opening weekend from 56 markets. Kang's one of the variants was introduced in Marvel's Disney+ "Loki" and going forward, Kang will be the center attraction of the MCU. ## The big-screen debut of Jonathan Majors as Kang brought him glowing appreciation, however, the movie got slammed by critics. "Ant-Man 3" is one of the worst-reviewed Marvel films in history with a 48% on Rotten Tomatoes, which nearly matches the record-low "Eternals" score of 47%. ## During the "Screen Talk" podcast of IndieWire, Majors reacted to the low critic scores for "Quantumania" and said that "It doesn't change how I see myself, period. The movie took the biggest opening in the "Ant-Man" franchise by scoring $106 million on the 3-day opening weekend (North America) but fell flat in the second weekend for a record 70% drop in the MCU.
