Los Angeles, February 13 - James Cameron's two blockbusters are going at each other to become the 3rd highest-grossing film of all time. ## The master storyteller's latest blockbuster "Avatar: The Way of Water" is continuing its winning march at the global box office another $25.8 million in its 9th weekend to take its total gross collection to $2.21 billion.## "Avatar 2" had surpassed "Titanic" to become the 3rd highest-grossing film ever but the latter reclaimed that spot upon its re-release to commemorate its 25th anniversary. Los Angeles, February 12 - It's James Cameron up against himself at the box office, but for now, his latest blockbuster "Avatar: The Way of Water" has edged past "Titanic" to become the 3rd highest-grossing film of all time. ## The sci-fi epic sequel is continuing its love affair with the box office as it topped $2.20 billion globally through the 9th Friday. With this, "Avatar 2" has surpassed "Titanic's" $2.19 billion, however, the latter may reclaim that spot as it is having a re-release worldwide to commemorate its 25th anniversary. ## For now, "Avatar 2" is the 3rd biggest movie ever, behind only "Avatar" ($2.91 billion) and "Avengers: Endgame" ($2.80 billion). "The Way of Water" is still a formidable player at the box office, while a remastered 3D version of Titanic is being released in time for Valentine's Day.## The Disney tentpole has grossed approx. $642 million at the domestic box office and approx. $1.56 billion overseas. Los Angeles, February 11 - James Cameron's classic blockbuster "Titanic" returns to the theaters to commemorate its 25th anniversary. ## Released by Paramount in 2,464 locations, "Titanic" re-release grossed a strong $6.70 million opening weekend, including Thursday previews at the domestic (North America) box office.## The weekend total pushed "Titanic's" domestic gross to $666.10 million. The opening weekend of the film's re-release was better than the "Avengers: Endgame" and "Spider-Man: No Way Home" re-releases, which grossed $6.10 million and $5.40 million, respectively. ## Overseas, the "Titanic" re-release grossed a super strong $15.90 million on the opening weekend. Although Ant-Man sides with Captain America, his involvement puts him at risk of being incarcerated once again.## Ant-Man and The Wasp (2018) - The second film in the Ant-Man franchise where Lang struggles to balance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man. "Frozen 2" grossed over $1.45 billion, and is currently the second highest-grossing animated movie, followed by "Frozen" ($1.28 billion) at number 3. ## "Toy Story" has had four films so far with a combined worldwide gross collection of close to $3 billion. "Toy Story 4" (2019) and "Toy Story 3" (2010) are the 6th and 7th highest-grossing animated films globally with $1.07 billion and $1.06 billion, respectively. ## "Zootopia", meanwhile, was released in 2016 and grossed approx. $1.04 billion worldwide. Los Angeles, February 7 - Phase 5 of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is about to kick off with "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" which is slated for February 17 release. Ahead of that, the movie had its world premiere on February 6 at the Regency Westwood Theatre, in Los Angeles. ## While the official review embargo for "Ant-Man 3" breaks on Tuesday, February 14, the early reactions for the world premiere have already started coming on social media. The initial reactions to a Marvel movie have always been mostly positive and things aren't different this time as well, though it suggests there is a different kind of wildness to look out for in the movie. ## Directed by Peyton Reed and produced by Kevin Feige and Stephen Broussard, "Ant-Man 3" is the 31st film in the MCU. Los Angeles, February 1 - The DC Universe is getting completely rebooted under the new co-heads James Gunn and Peter Safran. Three months after Warner Bros. Discovery hired Gunn and Safran as Co-Chairmen and CEOs of DC Studios, the new studio tapped with overseeing all DC film, TV, animation, and game projects going forward.## James Gunn had promised that the new DC Universe slate would be announced in January 2023, and as it is, the studio finally unveiled its two-chapter plan for the future DCU. The first chapter is named "Gods and Monsters". ## The studio has unveiled 10 projects, including 5 theatrical tentpoles in its first chapter. These projects are different from the already announced or in-production films and shows. The new slate will focus on the already-established DC Characters as well as the new heroes. ## Have a look at the MOVIES which are announced in the chapter - ## Superman: Legacy ## "Superman: Legacy" will mark the start of the DCU but it will not be an origin story of the proverbial Man of Steel. "It focuses on Superman balancing his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing", Safran said. "He is the embodiment of truth, justice, and the American way. He is kindness in a world that thinks of kindness as old-fashioned". ## James Gunn is writing the script and he might direct it as well. The movie will open in theaters on 11 July 2025. ## The Authority ## "This is one of my real passion projects", Gunn said. "I've been working really hard on it with the writers and we’re starting to put together the entire story. This is a big movie". "Superman: Legacy" will lead directly into "The Authority", a very different kind of story about superhumans who have a less-than-idealistic approach to saving the world.## "They are basically good-intentioned, but they think that the world is completely broken and the only way to fix it is to take things into their own hands, whether that means killing people, destroying heads of state, changing governments—basically, whatever they want to do to make the world better. We’ll see how that journey goes for them", Gunn revealed, adding that the movie is currently being written. ## The Brave and the Bold ## This is the introduction of the DCU's Batman which is different from Robert Pattinson's "The Batman – Part II" with director Matt Reeves. It will feature the extended Bat Family.## "The Brave and the Bold" is the story of Damian Wayne, who's Bruce Wayne's biological son, a fact unknown to Wayne for the first eight to 10 years of Damian's life. He was raised as a little murderer and assassin. "It's a very strange sort of father-son story about the two of them", Gunn said. ## Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow ## This is based on Tom King's (and Bilquis Evely's) wonderful comic. "Woman of Tomorrow" features Superman's cousin, Kara Zor-El, who is a very different type of Supergirl. ## "We see the difference between Superman, who was sent to Earth and raised by loving parents from the time he was an infant, versus Supergirl, who was raised on a rock chip off of Krypton, and watched everyone around her die and be killed in terrible ways for the first 14 years of her life". ## Gunn revealed that "Woman of Tomorrow" will be much harder supergirl than we have been used to thus far. ## Swamp Thing ## This is a film that will investigate the dark origins of Swamp Thing. Gunn said, "bring it up because it’s important to point out that in these stories, although they’re interconnected, they’re not all tonally the same".## "This is a much more horrific film, but we'll still have Swamp Thing interact with the other characters", he added.## Stay tuned...

The sci-fi epic has crossed $2.10 billion in 45 days and becomes the 4th highest-grossing film of all time. ## Meanwhile, "Avatar: The Way of Water" has been the number one film in the domestic (North American) market for the 7th consecutive week and is the only film to achieve this feat since Cameron's first "Avatar" movie in 2010.## "Avatar" (2009), which is currently the highest-grossing film of all time, spent seven straight weekends at the number 1 spot in North America. Now, "Avatar 2" has matched this feat as no other film in between spent more than 6 weekends at the number one spot. However, "Avatar" movies aren't the only ones to spend at number 1 for a such long period of time as there are 11 other films that secured the top spot for more than 7 weeks.## As far as the box office collection is concerned, "Avatar" had grossed $31.30 million in its 7th weekend for a total of $595.7 million after 45 days.
