Guardians of the Galaxy 3 Set To Be The Longest Film In The Franchise

Los Angeles, March 7 - Marvel Studios' next superhero movie Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is all set to be the longest film in the GoTG franchise, confirmed by the director James Gunn himself.

"Guardians of the Galaxy 3" is touted to be one of the most emotional films yet in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), and the same has been teased heavily in the threequel's first two trailers.



In the movie, the Guardians are adjusting to life on Knowhere, but when parts of Rocket's past resurface, Peter Quill must lead the Guardians on a dangerous mission to protect him that could lead to the team dissolving.

To keep the effectiveness of all the possibilities, the threequel will need extra time than the previous two films, and James Gunn confirmed the same while replying to a fan question on Instagram about GoTG3's runtime recently.

Now, it has been revealed that "Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3" has been listed with a runtime of 2 hours 29 minutes on Atom Tickets, making it the longest film in the franchise and 4th longest in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

For reference, 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy came in with a runtime of 2 hours and 2 minutes while Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 clocked in at 2 hours and 17 minutes. The movie, starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, and Pom Klementieff, among others, is scheduled to release on May 5, 2023.
