Los Angeles, November 30 - A record-breaking Thanksgiving weekend is ongoing at the North American box office with the top 3 films - Moana 2, Wicked and Gladiator 2 going all out for the big money. Only these three films alone are projected to earn a gigantic over $375+ million over the 5-day weekend. ## Meanwhile, amid the Moana 2's monstrous opening, Ariana Grande-Butera and Cynthia Erivo's epic musical fantasy film Wicked has breached a major box office milestone at the domestic box office as it has become the highest-grossing musical adaptation and first to reach $200 million in North America. ## Directed by Jon M. Both movies collectively grossed over $2.4 billion worldwide and were two of the year's highest-grossing films, with Barbie finishing at the top with $1.44 billion. ## More than a year later, another box office clash called Glicked (Gladiator II and Wicked) is making waves. It is not exactly as big as Barbenheimer but powerful enough to keep the trade excited going forward where Wicked is behaving like Barbie while Gladiator II can be the Oppenheimer. ## The Ridley Scott's directorial R-rated epic historical action drama, Gladiator 2 has already surpassed $200 million globally after debuting internationally on November 13. Through Sunday (November 24), G2 has made $165.5 million at the overseas box office while it debuted domestically (North America) on November 22 and grossed $55 million in the opening weekend for a worldwide cume of $220 million. ## Wicked, which is a musical fantasy film starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, had a strong debut domestically with a huge $112.5 million opening weekend. And with strong international performance, the film is now in the safe zone. ## Sony Pictures had 2 back-to-back box office shockers in its Spider-Man Universe in the form of Morbius and Madame Web, and when Venom 3 opened in North America far below initial expectations - with a disappointing $51 million - it looked like the studio might have another box office flop on its hands. ## However, after the initial setback, the brand Venom came to the rescue and the movie has continued to exceed expectations since then. Chennai, October 31 - Tamil star Sivakarthikeyan's biographical war action drama film Amaran has taken an excellent start at the domestic box office, surpassing all the expectations to deliver the career-best opening for the actor by more than a double margin. ## Amaran was already creating sensation in the advance sales which is one of the highest of the year for a Tamil title. The fantastic pre-sales ensured the big opening but the positive audience reports led to rock-solid spot booking which provided a major boost to the overall collections. ## According to the early estimates, the movie is expected to gross 16-17 crores in Tamil Nadu which is the highest opening for the actor and third biggest of 2024. Amaran is also off to a good start in Telugu states and is estimated to gross in the range of 4.50 crores on its first day. ## In Karnataka, the movie is estimated to score in the range of 2 crore gross while in Kerala and the rest of India market, the gross collection is expected to be in the range of 1.75 crores. Overall, Amaran is estimated to gross 24-25 crores opening in India which is excellent and one of the biggest for a non-superstar. ## One more movie which hit the big screens today is Dulquer Salmaan's Telugu movie Lucky Baskhar. The pre-sales for the movie were decent but the excellent response in the previews, followed by extremely positive word of mouth led to fantastic spot booking. ## According to early estimates, Lucky Bhaskar is expected to gross in the range of 3.75-4 crores in Telugu states while in Kerala, the movie is likely to bring in 1.75-2 crores gross. The film is directed by Shawn Levy and stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in the title roles. ## Deadpool and Wolverine will start streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar on November 12 in English, Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil languages, 108 days after its theatrical release on July 26. It will also stream in the US on the same date on Disney Plus. ## The third instalment of the Deadpool franchise is the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time with a worldwide box office collection of $1.33 billion. It is also the second highest-grossing film of 2024, after Disney/Pixar's Inside Out 2 ($1.69 billion).## In India, Deadpool 3 is the 7th highest-grossing Hollywood film ever with approximately $20 million (169 crores gross). Los Angeles, October 30 - Disney's hugely-anticipated animated musical adventure film Moana 2 is bracing up for a massive opening at the domestic (North America) box office after pre-sales off to record start for an animated movie of 2024.## According to the online ticketing platform Fandango, the Walt Disney Animation Studios tentpole set records Monday in terms of first-day advance ticket sales for 2024 animated titles, beating Disney/Pixar's billion-dollar grosser Inside Out 2. The platform didn't provide pre-sales numbers. ## According to The Hollywood Reporter, the first-day pre-sales of Moana 2 are the fourth best for any movie of 2024, behind only Deadpool & Wolverine, Wicked and Dune: Part 2. Los Angeles, October 29 — Sony Pictures announces that the next instalment of the adventure comedy franchise is officially in development and will be released before Christmas 2026, nearly 7 years after the last movie Jumanji: The Next Level (2019).## According to Deadline, director Jake Kasdan and star posse Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan are in talks and expected to return for Jumanji 3. The film will hit the screens on December 11, 2026, the same pre-Christmas slot that previous films in the Jumanji franchise released.## The third instalment of the rebooted Jumanji franchise is currently slated for a solo release on December 11 but there is Disney's untitled Star Wars movie and Warner Bros/Legendary’s supposed release of Dune 3 on December 18.## The original Jumanji was released in 1995, before its spin-off, Zathura: A Space Adventure launched in 2005. Mumbai, October 27 - Tom Hardy-fronted superhero movie Venom: Let There Be Carnage has had a good extended 4-day opening weekend and one of the biggest for a Hollywood movie of 2024 at the Indian box office. ## After scoring 5.50+ crores gross on its Thursday opening day, Venom 3 showed a good jump over the weekend to gross approximately 38.25 crores in 4 days which is the third biggest for a Hollywood title of the year after Deadpool & Wolverine (84 crores gross) and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (47 crore gross). ## The 39 crore gross opening weekend collection makes Venom 3 the second highest-grossing film of the franchise after crossing Venom: Let There Be Carnage which grossed approximately 28.50 crores in 2021. It will become the biggest grosser in the series by topping Venom (41+ crores gross) by tomorrow. ## Venom 3 is already the 4th highest-grossing Hollywood movie of 2024 at the Indian box office. Box Office: 'Venom: The Last Dance' Debuts With $175 Million Worldwide

Los Angeles, October 27 - Sony Pictures' Marvel movie Venom: The Last Dance debuted with a strong $175 million in its opening weekend at the worldwide box office, thanks to the international markets where the movie overperformed. ## The Tom Hardy-starrer superhero movie, however, has had a lower-than-expected opening at the domestic (North America) box office, grossing $51 million in its 3-day opening weekend. This is the lowest opening in the Venom franchise and the lowest ever for a comic book trilogy. ## In the Venom franchise, the film is nowhere close to the opening of the first two movies. The 2018 Venom scored $80 million on opening weekend, followed by Venom: Let There Be Carnage which opened to a then-pandemic record $90 million in North America. ## Overseas, Venom 3 performed fantastically and grossed $124 million over the 5-day opening weekend from 64 markets. This is way more than Venom: Let There Be Carnage ($62.3 million) and just behind Venom which scored $125.2 million internationally in its opening weekend. ## China was the biggest overseas market of Venom 3 with $46 million, followed by Mexico ($7.3 million), South Korea ($5.8 million), the UK ($5.7 million) and India ($4.6 million / 39 crores gross).
