Mumbai, August 10 - Maverick filmmaker James Cameron's sci-fi epic Avatar 3 has unveiled its official title on Friday during the D23 expo. The first two movies in the franchise have already been etched in the history books with monstrous box office performances.## During the D23 event, James Cameron along with stars Zoe Saldaña and Sam Worthington revealed that the third Avatar blockbuster will be titled Avatar: Fire and Ash, setting the stage for the things unfold in Pandora. ## "You'll see a lot more pandora that you never saw before. It's an insane adventure and a feast for the eyes, but it's also got very high emotional stakes, more than ever before. We're going into really challenging territory for all the characters you know and love", Cameron said (via Variety).## It is to be noted that James Cameron shot most of the portions of Avatar: Fire and Ash with Avatar: The Way of Water (Avatar 2), which depicts the war between humanity and the Na'vi after the rapacious Resources Development Administration (RDA) returns to the alien moon of Pandora.## Fire and Ash will follow the immediate events of Avatar 2, and at the D23 event, Cameron showcased some concept art from the movie, which reportedly was enough to excite the audience present there. The upcoming movie is believed to be more violent than the first two movies, and there will be new characters. ## The first Avatar movie was released in 2009 and remains the highest-grossing movie of all time with $2.92 billion. Its sequel, The Way of Water, took 13 years to come to life but there was no drop in the excitement as it is the third highest-grosser ever with $2.23 billion. Mumbai, August 5 - Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman-fronted superhero comedy Deadpool and Wolverine has surpassed $800 million at the worldwide box office, and with this, it has become the highest-grossing film in the Deadpool franchise, beating Deadpool 2. ## Directed by Shawn Levy, the 34th Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) tentpole has grossed $824 million (6905 crores) through the second weekend, surpassing the entire theatrical runs of 2016's Deadpool ($783 million) and 2018s Deadpool 2 ($786 million) as the top grosser in the franchise.## Domestically (North America), Deadpool 3 has grossed $395.6 million (3315 crores) in just 10 days. It has become the highest-grossing R-rated film in North America after beating The Passion Of The Christ which scored $371 million in 2004.## At the overseas box office, the third Deadpool instalment has minted $428.5 million (3590 crores) over 52 markets. China continued to lead the international chart for the movie with $45.2 million, followed by the United Kingdom ($42.4 million), Mexico ($32.8 million), Australia ($24.6 million), and Germany ($19 million). Mumbai, August 1 - Disney's Pixar blockbuster Inside Out 2 has cracked the all-time top 10 highest-grossing movies at the worldwide box office, after outgrossing Marvel Studios/Disney's The Avengers through 8th Wednesday. ## The coming-of-age film animated tentpole has topped $1.524 billion (12765 crores) after the 8th Wednesday and has crossed The Avengers's $1.523 billion to become the 10th highest-grossing film ever at the global box office.## Directed by Kelsey Mann in his feature directorial debut, Inside Out 2 has grossed $618.7 million (5180 crores) in North America while the overseas collection is $905.3 million (7585 crores). It is already the highest-grossing animated movie worldwide. ## Mexico is the biggest international market for IO2 with $100.5 million, followed by Brazil where it has become the highest-grossing movie ever with $77.3 million. The UK is the third biggest with $65 million while Korea ($58 million) and France ($55.6 million) are at the 4th and 5th spot.## Inside Out 2 was released on June 12 internationally before debuting in North America on June 14. It scored $295 million in its worldwide opening weekend which is the biggest for an animated movie ever. Mumbai, July 30 - Marvel Studios shocked the entertainment fraternity when it announced the much-talked-about comeback of Robert Downey Jr. in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to headline the next Avengers movies along with the director duo of Russo Brothers (Joe Russo and Anthony Russo) at the San Diego Comic-Con event recently.## Unlike what people might have thought Downey Jr. would make a comeback as Iron Man, the superhero character he has donned over the years since the inception of the MCU, the actor has been tasked to play the villainous Doctor Doom this time around.## Though the casting of Downey Jr. has garnered a mixed reception no one can deny the fact that it, along with Russos' directorial MCU comeback only gonna benefit Marvel big time just like the old days when they used to help Marvel print money at the box office like the back of hand. This, however, will cost Marvel way more than what it used to pay the Iron Man star and Russos in the past.## According to Variety, the Kavin Fiege-owned Marvel will sign a $80 million paycheck for Anthony and Joe Russo to direct Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars and significantly more for Robert Downey Jr. to tackle uber-villain Doctor Doom in the two tentpoles. ## The report further revealed that the Russos' deal with the studio doesn't include back-end compensation, but it does contain performance escalators that kick in at the $750 million and $1 billion thresholds. It is to be noted that the director duo is also producing the upcoming Avengers movies under their banner AGBO.## Downey Jr. has been by far the biggest paid member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Variety reports that the actor has earned between $500 million and $600 million for playing Iron Man. For the upcoming Avengers movies, the actor will get the perks that include private jet travel, dedicated security and a whole trailer encampment, other than his massive undisclosed payday, which is, as said above, way more than Russos.## Avengers Doomsday and Avengers Secret Wars are scheduled to be released in May 2026, and May 2027, respectively. The latest Deadpool & Wolverine which is the 34th movie in the blockbuster franchise pushed the MCU to become the first to reach the $30 billion milestone after the record opening for an R-rated title and is poised to score $450+ million in its global opening weekend. ## The comic book turned into a feature film franchise has delivered unbelievable success for Marvel/Disney. Downey Jr. will be introduced as Doctor Doom in Avengers 5, which is now titled Avengers: Doomsday, and Avengers: Secret Wars. Both the movies are scheduled to be released in 2026 and 2026, respectively## Over the years, Robert Downey Jr. has been an integral part of the MCU as the iconic protagonist Iron Man/Tony Stark since his debut in the 2008 Iron Man movie, and reprised the role in 10 Marvel films, including next 2 Iron Man movies, "The Incredible Hulk", "The Avengers", "Captian America: Civil War", "Avengers: Age of Ultron", "Spider-Man: Homecoming", "Avengers: Infinity War" and "Avengers: Endgame". ## Downey's character as Iron Man died in Avengers: Endgame, and since then, there have been speculations that he might return in future MCU movies considering how the franchise has been shaping up with the Multiverse and Mutant saga.
