Mumbai, August 1 - Disney's Pixar blockbuster Inside Out 2 has cracked the all-time top 10 highest-grossing movies at the worldwide box office, after outgrossing Marvel Studios/Disney's The Avengers through 8th Wednesday. ## The coming-of-age film animated tentpole has topped $1.524 billion (12765 crores) after the 8th Wednesday and has crossed The Avengers's $1.523 billion to become the 10th highest-grossing film ever at the global box office.## Directed by Kelsey Mann in his feature directorial debut, Inside Out 2 has grossed $618.7 million (5180 crores) in North America while the overseas collection is $905.3 million (7585 crores). It is already the highest-grossing animated movie worldwide. ## Mexico is the biggest international market for IO2 with $100.5 million, followed by Brazil where it has become the highest-grossing movie ever with $77.3 million. The UK is the third biggest with $65 million while Korea ($58 million) and France ($55.6 million) are at the 4th and 5th spot.## Inside Out 2 was released on June 12 internationally before debuting in North America on June 14. It scored $295 million in its worldwide opening weekend which is the biggest for an animated movie ever. The sequel topped $1 billion gross in just 19 days, again making it the fastest animated title to reach the milestone.## The movie is projected to finish its lifetime run between $1.60 billion and $1.70 billion. Mumbai, July 31 - Marvel Studios' superhero comedy Deadpool and Wolverine has crossed 100 crores gross collection at the Indian box office in a flat 5 days, becoming only the second Hollywood movie of the year to achieve the feat. ## The Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman-fronted blockbuster had an excellent first weekend with approximately 84 crores gross and held well during the weekdays so far to add another 17 crores gross to take the total collection to around 100 crores ($11.90 million) in 5 days. ## Deadpool & Wolverine is only the second Hollywood film of 2024 after Godzilla x Kong: The New Year to enter the 100 crores gross collection in India and is one of the fastest ever to do so. Mumbai, July 30 - Marvel Studios shocked the entertainment fraternity when it announced the much-talked-about comeback of Robert Downey Jr. in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to headline the next Avengers movies along with the director duo of Russo Brothers (Joe Russo and Anthony Russo) at the San Diego Comic-Con event recently.## Unlike what people might have thought Downey Jr. would make a comeback as Iron Man, the superhero character he has donned over the years since the inception of the MCU, the actor has been tasked to play the villainous Doctor Doom this time around.## Though the casting of Downey Jr. has garnered a mixed reception no one can deny the fact that it, along with Russos' directorial MCU comeback only gonna benefit Marvel big time just like the old days when they used to help Marvel print money at the box office like the back of hand. This, however, will cost Marvel way more than what it used to pay the Iron Man star and Russos in the past.## According to Variety, the Kavin Fiege-owned Marvel will sign a $80 million paycheck for Anthony and Joe Russo to direct Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars and significantly more for Robert Downey Jr. to tackle uber-villain Doctor Doom in the two tentpoles. ## The report further revealed that the Russos' deal with the studio doesn't include back-end compensation, but it does contain performance escalators that kick in at the $750 million and $1 billion thresholds. It is to be noted that the director duo is also producing the upcoming Avengers movies under their banner AGBO.## Downey Jr. has been by far the biggest paid member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Variety reports that the actor has earned between $500 million and $600 million for playing Iron Man. For the upcoming Avengers movies, the actor will get the perks that include private jet travel, dedicated security and a whole trailer encampment, other than his massive undisclosed payday, which is, as said above, way more than Russos.## Avengers Doomsday and Avengers Secret Wars are scheduled to be released in May 2026, and May 2027, respectively. The milestone was announced during the studio's Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con, led by studio chief Kevin Feige.## MCU started with Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man (2008) which grossed $586 million globally. The latest Deadpool & Wolverine which is the 34th movie in the blockbuster franchise pushed the MCU to become the first to reach the $30 billion milestone after the record opening for an R-rated title and is poised to score $450+ million in its global opening weekend. ## The comic book turned into a feature film franchise has delivered unbelievable success for Marvel/Disney. Mumbai, July 25 - It hasn't been a great year for Hollywood movies at the Indian box office with only Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire managing to hit 100 crores net collection in the first 6 months so far. However, things are expected to change in the second half of the year, starting with Marvel Studios' highly-anticipated Deadpool and Wolverine. ## The third Deadpool movie, starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, is scheduled to hit the big screen on July 26. The anticipation for the movie among Indian audiences is as high as some of the biggest Marvel movies in the past and the pre-sales response indicates the same. ## The Shawn Levy's A-rated directorial, which is reportedly releasing on over 3000 screens across the country, has scored one of the biggest pre-sales of the year in India and one of the biggest for a Marvel title in recent times.## As of 9 PM on July 25, Deadpool 3 sold approximately 360K tickets worth 10+ crores gross collection (12.60+ crores gross with block seats) for the opening day in all versions. This sort of advance could have easily ensured a 30+ crores gross opening, but an 'A' rating of the movie may prove to be a hurdle. ## Marvel has an incredible fan following in India and the performances of its films in the past prove the same.
