Chennai, May 3 - Thalapathy Vijay's sports action drama film Ghilli is having an excellent re-run and has broken into the 30 crores mark at the worldwide box office. It is already one of the highest-grossing Tamil movies of the year. ## The movie has grossed around 24.25 crores in India in 13 days so far. From the second Monday-Thursday (4 days), it minted approximately 4-4.25 crores gross which is an excellent hold. At the overseas box office, the blockbuster has grossed approximately 6.50 crores, pushing the total worldwide collection to around 30.75 crores gross. ## Ghilli will cross Rajinikanth's Lal Salaam's lifetime collection of 33 crores in the coming days to become the 3rd highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2024 at the worldwide box office. The sports action drama film, which was re-released on April 20, has grossed approximately 20 crores in India in 9 days. ## The 20 crores domestic gross collection of Ghilli makes it the biggest re-release grosser, beating James Cameron's Avatar 3D which minted 18 crores back in 2012. Iconic blockbuster Sholay 3D (2013) is the third biggest grosser with 13 crores. ## As reported earlier, Ghilli will also become the third highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2024 at the domestic box office. Chennai, April 26 - Thalapathy Vijay's sports action drama Ghilli re-release box office collection has crossed 20 crores gross worldwide in 7 days after the excellent Wednesday in India and overseas. ## On Thursday, the blockbuster film scored an estimated 1.25-1.40 crores gross in India, pushing the total collection to over 14.50 crores in 6 days. The movie opened in the United Kingdom with a sensational 55 lakh which pushed the overseas collection to around 5.25 crores gross. ## Ghilli, after 6 days of its re-release, has earned over 19.75 crores at the worldwide box office and has crossed the 20 crores gross mark with today's collection. The movie has been in production for a long time and it is finally coming to an end after almost 5 years. ## Produced by Lyca Productions, Indian 2 has been one of the most anticipated Tamil movies. There have been a lot of enquiries about the film's release date but the makers have kept mum about the same. Chennai, February 2 - Thalapathy Vijay has officially announced his entry into politics and with this, the actor has confirmed that he is quitting movies after his 69th film. ## The Tamil superstar is currently shooting for director Venkat Prabhu's "The Greatest of All-Time (GOAT)". Netflix Announces Post-Theatrical Streaming Slate of Upcoming Tamil Films

Mumbai, January 17 - Netflix has been on an announcement spree regarding the post-theatrical streaming slate of South Indian films. The streamer recently announced several Telugu films which will stream on its platform after their theatrical run and now, it has announced Tamil titles. ## One of the biggest Tamil films to stream on Netflix after its theatrical release is superstar Ajith Kumar's VidaaMuyarchi, directed by Magizh Thirumeni and produced by Lyca Productions. The theatrical release of the film is yet to be announced but it is expected to release either Diwali this year or Sankranthi 2025. It will stream in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. ## Netflix also has Lyca's Indian 2, starring legendary Kamal Haasan and directed by Shankar. A sequel to the 1996 blockbuster "Indian", it is easily one of the Tamil films of the year, scheduled to release during summer. It will be available to stream on Netflix in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi, post its theatrical release. ## Chiyaan Vikram's period action drama Thangalaan, directed by directed by Pa. Ranjith and produced by Studio Green, is also grabbed by Netflix. The movie is announced for theatrical release in April 2024. Sony Pictures International Production's debut in Tamil cinema, tentatively titled SK21, also produced by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International, starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, is also part of the Netflix lineup. ## Among the other films, Vijay Sethupathi's Maharaja directed by Nithilan Saminathan along with Keerthy Suresh-led Passion Film Factory and The Route's Revolver Rita directed by K. Chandru, Dream Warrior Pictures’ Kannivedi, SNS Productions' Sorgavaasal, and AGS Entertainment's Conjuring Kannappan is also part of Netflix's line-up. ## The unreleased films will debut on Netflix after their theatrical releases. All the films will also be available in versions dubbed in the other three southern Indian languages — Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada — and in most cases in the northern Indian language Hindi as well.## Stay tuned...
