WWE Rebrands Saudi Arabia Show: Night Of Champions Replaces King And Queen Of The Ring

WWE has decided to rebrand their upcoming event in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, which was originally named King and Queen of the Ring. The company announced today that the event, set to take place on Saturday, May 27, will now be called Night of Champions. ## This marks a change from the previous name, as WWE last used the Night of Champions branding for a pay-per-view in 2015, which featured a main event between Seth Rollins and Sting for the WWE World Heavyweight title. The name was subsequently changed to Clash of Champions in 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2020. ## WWE had filed for trademarks for the King and Queen of the Ring names in December, and had announced the event on their programming on March 6. However, they have now changed the name of the event to Night of Champions, which will be the second WWE pay-per-view in May. Backlash is still scheduled for Saturday, May 6 in Puerto Rico. ## No official announcement has been made regarding the future of the King and Queen of the Ring name, or whether Night of Champions will still include tournament bouts for the King and Queen of the Ring. The most recent King of the Ring and Queen's Crown tournaments were held in 2021, with Xavier Woods and Zelina Vega winning the titles at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia in October of that year. ## To stay updated with all the latest combat sports news, add Sacnilk.com to your Google News feeds and follow us on Twitter.

IWGP Women’s Champion Mercedes Mone Fires Back At Comparison To 'Female Dean Ambrose'

Mercedes Mone, the current IWGP Women's Champion, has taken to social media to react to a claim that she is the "female Dean Ambrose." Mone is currently preparing for her title defense against Mayu Iwatani at the STARDOM All Star Grand Queendom event on April 23. ## During a recent press conference, Mone entertained the audience by performing her "new hit single" titled "Mayu Sucks," and eventually delivering her Mone Maker finisher to Mayu. ## A fan on Twitter made a comparison between Mone and Dean Ambrose, a former WWE star, initially implying that the comparison was based on the wackiness of the segment. However, the fan later clarified that they were arguing that both Ambrose and Mone are worse off after leaving WWE. ## In response to the tweet comparing her to Dean Ambrose, Mone took to social media and replied with a fiery comeback. ## "More like the female @TheRock 🥰🤩🎸 #TheCEO" ## It's worth noting that Moxley signed a five-year deal with AEW last year, which includes coaching and mentorship roles, indicating his contentment with his current position. This suggests that Moxley is unlikely to return to WWE anytime soon, and Mone's response may have been a subtle nod to this fact. ## More like the female @TheRock 🥰🤩🎸#TheCEO https://t.co/kGsep6zMYr— Mercedes Moné Varnado (@MercedesVarnado) April 13, 2023 ## To stay updated with all the latest combat sports news, add Sacnilk.com to your Google News feeds and follow us on Twitter.

Early Predictions For WWE Backlash 2023 Match Lineup

Following a WrestleMania 39 that received mixed reviews over its two-night extravaganza and a lackluster post-Mania Raw, the WWE Universe has now turned its attention towards Backlash 2023. ## Set to take place on May 6 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the first pay-per-view after WrestleMania is already shaping up to be a pivotal event, featuring high-stakes matches and top-tier Superstars. ## With Grammy-winning artist Bad Bunny heavily involved, tantalizing hints of a potential championship unification bout, and teasing of a Brock Lesnar appearance, the Backlash card holds immense potential for being stacked with blockbuster moments. ## Without further ado, here are some early predictions for the top bouts expected to take place on next month's anticipated show. Wrestling fans are eagerly speculating and anticipating the epic showdowns that will unfold at Backlash 2023. ## Bad Bunny and Rey Mysterio Vs Dominik Mysterio and Damian Priest ## Bad Bunny made a surprising appearance at WrestleMania 39, where he joined the Spanish announcer's table. However, his involvement in the match between Dominik Mysterio and Rey Mysterio resulted in him snatching a steel chain from Dominik, who was about to strike Rey Mysterio with it. ## In the latest episode of WWE Raw, Dominik Mysterio confronted Bad Bunny about his actions, and Bad Bunny responded with a swift right hand, taking him down. Damian Priest, who was present, intervened and chokeslammed Bad Bunny through the announcer's table, leaving him battered and bruised. ## Despite this setback, Bad Bunny is set to host WWE Backlash 2023 and may even compete in a tag team match alongside Rey Mysterio against Dominik Mysterio and Damian Priest. The anticipation for this match is high, and fans are eager to see how Bad Bunny will fare against his opponents. ## Singles Match: Brock Lesnar vs Cody Rhodes ## During a recent episode of WWE Raw, Brock Lesnar made a shocking move by attacking his own tag team partner, Cody Rhodes, during a match against Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa. The Beast Incarnate displayed his immense power by executing two devastating F-5s on Rhodes, leaving him in a state of disarray. ## The ruthless attack by Lesnar on his partner has sparked rumors of a potential match between the two at WWE Backlash 2023. However, it has also added an element of intrigue and suspense to the upcoming WWE Backlash event. Only time will tell how this intense rivalry will play out in the ring. ## Singles Match: Rhea Ripley vs Bianca Belair ## At WrestleMania 39, Rhea Ripley defeated Charlotte Flair in a fierce battle to become the new WWE SmackDown Women's Champion, while Bianca Belair successfully defended her WWE Raw Women's Championship by defeating Asuka in an electrifying match. ## In the latest episode of Monday Night Raw, a confrontation ensued when Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair came face to face. Ripley boldly stated that Belair was fortunate that she did not choose her as her opponent at WrestleMania, implying that she could have easily defeated her. The challenge was thrown down, and tensions escalated as the two talented wrestlers stood their ground. ## The intense rivalry between Ripley and Belair has sparked rumors of a potential "Winner Takes It All" match at WWE Backlash 2023. Israel Adesanya's Manager Talks WWE: A Bucket List Item, But Unlikely During Active Competition

Israel Adesanya has reclaimed his position at the summit of the UFC middleweight division, triumphing over his long-standing adversary, Alex Pereira, at UFC 287. ## Adesanya's unwavering aspiration to one day join the ranks of the WWE has been no secret, and he has paid homage to WWE icons in the past through his celebratory gestures and grand entrances. In the lead-up to UFC 287, Adesanya took to Twitter to share the iconic "My Way" video package from WrestleMania 17, which vividly showcased the epic feud between Steve Austin and The Rock. ## Astonishingly, within a mere week of Adesanya's tweet, the WWE made a groundbreaking announcement of their agreement to sell the company to Endeavor and merge with the UFC to form a new publicly traded entity. ## "It's on his bucket list, for sure," Adesayna's manager Tim Simpson told ESPN. "He wants to [do a match]. He's been very disciplined. We've had acting opportunities turned down. He's been very disciplined about being an athlete. Because he knows that's all in his future. So, I can't see him doing it while he's still competing. But in the future? Definitely bucket list." ## To stay updated with all the latest combat sports news, add Sacnilk.com to your Google News feeds and follow us on Twitter.

Kalisto's NXT Producing Role Confirmed

In a noteworthy development, Fightful Select's report in November 2022 unveiled that Kalisto, a former WWE talent, had been actively engaged at NXT live events for the week, where he had taken on the dual roles of a guest coach and a producer. ## His presence had been felt throughout the WWE Performance Center as he provided invaluable coaching and guidance to the aspiring wrestlers. However, it was during the Friday night live event that Kalisto truly shone, as he had assumed the pivotal role of a producer, overseeing the women's matches with finesse and expertise. ## Furthermore, in an interview with renowned wrestling personality Renee Paquette on The Sessions, Samuray Del Sol confirmed his exciting opportunity to work as a producer for NXT. He enthusiastically shared his experiences and contributions in this esteemed role, shedding light on how he had brought a fresh and dynamic perspective to the wrestling industry. This new chapter in Kalisto and Samuray Del Sol's careers as producers in NXT undoubtedly added a new level of impressiveness to their already illustrious wrestling journeys. ## "I got an opportunity to train as a coach on NXT. Seeing that view from that side, I learned a lot more. I produced two matches. It was great. Me, Terry Taylor, and Norman (Smiley) as producers. From that view, and producing a match, it was great. I learned so much," he said. ## I'm a hands-on person. So when I was in there, I like showing the moves and bumping for them. The stuff they're doing now, it's great. Being on that side of the producing team, it made me realize that if I was producing myself, I would be like, 'Be more happy, jump, do something on this time. Lucha, lucha, right time.' I would correct myself and my timings from the beginning to the end. I would critique myself and see my own self back when I started at NXT and be like, 'Don't be nervous.' I would say to myself, 'More character.' I was screaming, I lost my voice the whole time. I was really excited to work with everybody in NXT." ## To stay updated with all the latest combat sports news, add Sacnilk.com to your Google News feeds and follow us on Twitter.
