WWE Set To Do Another Sponsorship Match At WWE WrestleMania 39

Los Angeles, February 2, 2023 - The 2023 Royal Rumble event featured a first-ever gimmick match with Bray Wyatt taking on LA Knight. The match was filled with ‘neon’ elements and WWE were doing run-throughs regarding the use of neon at the Rumble. ## This was an anything-goes match done under backlighting. The backlighting illuminated body and face paint on Wyatt presented Wyatt with a demon-like appearance, including red eyes. According to our perspective, the match didn't really pull off. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, WWE senior VP and head of global sales and partnerships Craig Stimmel revealed that there could be another sponsorship match at WrestleMania 39. ## “I don’t want to give away too much, but it’ll be around a match, and the sponsorship of that match, and what they’ll be able to bring to that match,” he said. “So we’re going to do things that fit inside of our storyline as well.” ## “We’re tracking exactly where we want to be going into the events,” Stimmel said. “We’ve also got a diverse set of sponsorships coming in … we’ve got snacks, we have beverages, among others. So it’s a really nice diverse portfolio of brands that are joining in a myriad of ways. When you think about putting WrestleMania on, we’re going to be showing across millions of households on Peacock, we’re also going to have a social presence. ## We’re also going to have a post-match press conference that’s going to be sponsored this year — you saw that with Mountain Dew and Royal Rumble — but we’re going to have that again at WrestleMania. It’s on YouTube and on TikTok and on Facebook, so we’re gonna have a myriad of opportunities to tell a brand story across different spectrums with different voices. There are a number of supporters within creative that not only want the match, but they want it towards the top. ## As of writing, the biggest event of the year has clinched two big matches including Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. Given that, On the January 30 episode of Raw, WWE official Adam Pearce announced that due to the women's Royal Rumble match winner choosing to challenge for the SmackDown Women's Championship at WrestleMania 39, Bianca Belair's challenger for the Raw Women's Championship at WrestleMania would be determined by an Elimination Chamber match, consisting of wrestlers from both Raw and SmackDown. ## The first four runner-ups have already been added to the match including Asuka, Liv Morgan, Nikki Cross, and Raquel Rodriguez and the remaining will be revealed in the coming days. ## Piper Niven, Carmella, Candice LeRae, and Michin will fight in a qualifying bout next week to determine one of those remaining spots, but the other space is unknown for the moment. ## However, I feel like, WWE wouldn't like the perspective to pick Piper Niven, Carmella, Candice LeRae and Michin, and Nikki Cross as Bianca Belair's challenger at WrestleMania. With these superstars potentially not being thought on the card, the hopes now remain on Raquel Rodriguez, Asuka, Liv Morgan, and other superstars who could be announced for the remaining qualifier. ## The one superstar who I believe could be a major view is Naomi who has been out of WWE TV for quite a long time now.
