Sayantani Ghosh completes one year in 'Tera Yaar Hoon Main'

Mumbai, Dec 25 (IANS) Actress Sayantani Ghosh, who plays Daljeet Bagga in 'Tera Yaar Hoon Main', has completed a year in the light-hearted family show. ## Talking about her journey as Daljeet on the show, Sayantani said, "I still remember I was at home in Kolkata on a Christmas break when I got the call to play Daljeet… I got to be a part of Sony SAB for the first time in a light-hearted comedy genre and also play a Punjabi girl, which I've never done before, so it was a no-brainer for me and I jumped at the opportunity." ## She recalled receiving an award for 'The Most Popular Face' last week, so she is very grateful that the fans connected with Daljeet and showed her so much love. ## "My entire journey has been absolutely great, and I've juggled between two contrasting emotions - getting married in real life and being the happiest that I have ever been, as well as playing a distressed mother in reel life. It was challenging yet a gratifying experience for me as an actor." ## Sayantani further talks about her character Daljeet: "What makes Daljeet so special is that she wears her heart on her sleeves and speaks her mind. Michael Holding recalls 1983, says West Indies never imagined India would be a problem

New Delhi, Dec 25 (IANS) With '83' finally releasing worldwide on Friday, there has been a renewed interest among cricket fans in India's first-ever Cricket World Cup triumph. One of the biggest points from that triumphant campaign was India winning the trophy after beating two-time and defending champions West Indies at Lord's. ## After losing the toss in the title decider, India were asked to bat first against a West Indies team that had unarguably the world's most ferocious bowling attack. India were skittled out for 183 in 54.4 overs. ## But the Indian bowlers rallied around in unison to dismiss the Windies for 140 all out in 52 overs, completing a 40-run victory. The Indian team, led by Kapil Dev, had stunned the cricketing world in completing one of the biggest upsets by defeating the invincible West Indies. ## Former West Indies pacer Michael Holding, in the chat show 'Pit Stop' on Sony Ten, admitted that his side had underestimated the resolve of the Indian team in the 1983 World Cup final at the Lord's Cricket Ground. ## "I am going to be totally honest," he said in the interview recorded in 2020. "We were perhaps overconfident. We did not think that India was going to be our problem in the World Cup. Yes, they might have beaten us a couple of times before the World Cup, but we always thought we would be able to overpower them, especially with our fast bowling that we had." ## Holding pointed out that when his team were complacent, India simply lifted their game for the big occasion. "Especially, in that final, we just took it for granted, having bowled them out that cheaply," said the Jamaican who was nicknamed 'Whispering Death' in his heyday. "The runs would have been knocked off quite easily. That is what happens when you take things for granted, when you underrate people and they lift their game." ## Holding added: "They were the underdogs, they had nothing to lose. Kapil Dev and that team just went out there and performed at their very best and took us by surprise because we were overconfident and took it for granted." ## Holding, who became a commentator after retiring from competitive cricket, also pointed out that the 1983 success had a ripple effect on India winning the 1985 Benson and Hedges Cup in Australia. ## "That was a good Indian team. As we have seen as time went on, right after that World Cup, they went to Australia and won in 1985. Megha Akash to play female lead in Vijay Milton's 'Mazhai Pidikatha Manithan'

Chennai, Dec 25 (IANS) Actress Megha Akash will play the female lead in director Vijay Milton's much-awaited action thriller 'Mazhai Pidikatha Manithan', which has actor Vijay Antony playing the lead. ## Interestingly, the makers have now made it clear that 'Mazhai Pidikatha Manithan' will actually be a sequel to Vijay Antony's super hit film 'Salim'. ## The action-entertainer, which its makers are claiming to be the first-ever Tamil movie to be extensively shot in Daman-Diu, is to hit screens in the middle of 2022. ## Apart from Vijay Antony, Sarath Kumar will be seen playing an important character in the film. Two Kannada actors, Dhananjaya and Pruthvi Ambar, will be making their debut in Tamil cinema with this film, which also features Saranya Ponvannan, Murali Sharma, Thalaivaasal Vijay, Surender Thakur and Praniti. ## Sources close to the unit of the film say that it will feature some mind-boggling action sequences. Vijay Antony, who is known to play characters that have limited dialogues, will again be seen essaying such a character in this film. ## Apart from writing and directing the film, Vijay Milton has handled the cinematography for 'Mazhai Pidikatha Manithan'. Vijay Antony, who plays the lead, will also be scoring music for the songs while Achu Rajamani is taking care of the background score. ## 'Mazhai Pidikatha Manithan' is produced by Kamal Bohra, Lalitha Dhananjayan, Pradeep B., Pankaj Bohra, and S. Mumbai, Dec 25 (IANS) Bollywood actress Lara Dutta, who plays the role of late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in Akshay Kumar-starrer 'Bell Bottom', recalls her experience of working in the movie which has its world TV premiere on December 26. ## She says bringing the character on-screen was challenging and full of responsibility. ## Lara says: "Working on 'Bell Bottom' was a challenging yet fulfilling experience. It was a huge responsibility to do justice to the role of Indira Gandhi ji and make it convincing to the audience. Ranjit Tiwari and I sat for hours and saw Mrs Gandhi's footage to get the nuances right. My father was her pilot so I grew up listening to her stories and how she spoke to everyone so that helped as well. And when I saw myself on screen, and the reactions that followed, it was all worth it." ## Directed by Ranjit Tiwari, the film stars Akshay Kumar playing the role of Anshul Malhotra whose life takes an important turn as he joins RAW and embarks on his very first mission as 'Agent Bell Bottom'. It also features Huma Qureshi as RAW personnel and Vaani Kapoor as Anshul's wife Radhika. ## The actress adds: "When Akshay first called me for the film during the pandemic and spoke about the character of Mrs Gandhi, I almost thought it was a joke because the entire industry was shut down and we didn't know how we would film. But taking up this part was a no-brainer. I wanted to do something different, and to portray Mrs Gandhi was an opportunity of a lifetime and a moment I will cherish forever. ## "This is my 13th film with Akshay Kumar in my 18-year career so that made it even more special. BTS' Suga tests positive for Covid after returning from US

Seoul, Dec 25 (IANS) Suga of the South-Korean super K-pop band BTS has tested positive for Covid after returning from the US. ## The K-Pop idol received his positive test result one day after he returned to South Korea, where he was quarantined as soon as he arrived, reports aceshowbiz.com. ## He has not come in contact with other members of the group. ## The group's label Big Hit Music revealed the star's Covid diagnosis on Friday. ## "BTS member Suga was confirmed with Covid-19 on Friday, December 24 during his self-quarantine after taking the PCR test immediately upon his return to Korea on Thursday, December 23," read a statement released by the company. ## "Suga completed his second round of the Covid-19 vaccination in late August and is not presenting any symptoms as of today," the statement continued. ## "He is currently administering self-care at home per the guidelines of the healthcare authorities." ## Big Hit went on assuring that Suga has been following Covid protocols. ## "Suga, who had a number of personal engagements in the US during BTS's official time off, tested negative for the PCR test taken before traveling to the United States and began his self-quarantine after taking the PCR test upon his return to Korea. He received positive results during quarantine, and there was no contact with the other members." ## After completing BTS' schedules in the US, the members, including Jin, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, returned separately to South Korea, with Suga spending the longest time in the US. ## During his personal time in the country, he was seen attending an NBA game between the Clippers and the Pistons in late November. ## The 28-year-old rapper has not personally addressed his condition. ## For more and the latest news about World, stay tuned to us.
