Vijay Sethupathi's Political Thriller, Laabam To Release On Ramzan In Theaters

Chennai, April 22, 2021: Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi's long-awaited political thriller film, Laabam finally finalized the release date. Written and Directed by late S. P. Jananathan, the movie will release on the occasion of Ramzan (May 12) in theaters. ## The release date was announced with the second single, Yaamili Yaamiliyaa from the movie which is a tribute to the director who died on 14 March 2021 at the age of 61 after being unconscious for two days following a cardiac arrest.## Earlier, The makers of Laabam were planning to release the movie in April as scheduled, for which they also released a statement, however, the prevailing covid-19 situation in the country forced the makers to change their plans. ## Produced by P. Film Fraternity Mourns The Demise Of Tamil Actor Vivek Who Died At 59

Chennai, April 17, 2021, Renowned Tamil actor, Vivek who shared the screen space with Rajinikanth, Vijay, Ajith Kumar, and others, died due to a heart attack in a Chennai hospital in the early hours of Saturday. He was admitted to SIMS Hospital in Vadapalani where he underwent an angioplasty and stenting procedure on Friday for a complete block in a critical blood vessel of the heart. He was put on ECMO support in the intensive care unit.## The actor, who was 59 years old, made his debut in 1987 with Manathil Uruthi Vendum which also starred late S. P. Balasubrahmanyam. He worked on over 200 movies and all those movies were in the Tamil language. His last movie before his death was Dharala Prabhu which is the remake of the Hindi movie, Vicky Donor. Despite Good Offers, Karthi Reveals Why Sulthan Did Not Opt For A Direct OTT Release

Superstar Karthi's next Tamil film, Sulthan is all set for a grand theatrical release on April 2nd. Since the theatrical business in Tamil Nadu is going through a tough time despite Thalapathy Vijay's Master's blockbuster success, a lot has been depended upon Karthi's Sulthan to give a much-needed boost to the ailing Tamil industry. The movie is undoubtedly the first Tamil summer release and the pre-release buzz around it has been good enough to take a solid opening. ## Sulthan was supposed to release last year during the summer. However, due to the covid-19 pandemic, the makers forced to postpone the release. It was the time when some of the biggies started opting for the direct-to-digital release across languages. Sulthan also got offers, like really tempting ones from leading streaming platforms to skip the theatrical way of releasing the movie but makers opted to wait for the theaters to open. ## Karthi, in a recent interview, revealed that Sulthan is a mixture of comedy and emotions which can only be enjoyed in theaters. Thala Ajith's Valimai Tamil Nadu Theatrical Rights Acquired By Gopuram Films And Romeo Pictures

It has been a long wait for Thala Ajith's fans who have been waiting desperately for Actor's next film, Valimai. The wait, however, is finally going to end as the makers of Valimai recently announced that the first look of the film will be revealed on Ajith's 50th birthday on May 1st. Now, Boney Kapoor - producer of Valimai has come up with another important update about the movie. While the official release date of Valimai is yet to be announced, the producer announced that the Tamil Nadu theatrical rights of the movie have been acquired by Gopuram Films and Romeo Pictures. From the last couple of weeks, there have been a lot of reports claiming National Award-winning director, Vetrimaaran joining hands with Thalapathy Vijay for his next film. Vijay Sethupathi's Laabam To Release In April As Scheduled

Vijay Sethupathi's upcoming film, Laabam is one of the most awaited Indian films of 2021. The movie was announced way back in 2019 but the shoot was delayed because of the covid-19 pandemic. And finally, when the shoot was over and post-production was also on the verge of compilation, the unfortunate demise of the director S. P. Jananathan left the Laabam team shattered and shocked and also dented the chances to release the movie in April. ## However, the makers have now announced that despite the unfortunate things that happened in the last few days, Laabam will be ready to release in theaters in April as scheduled in Tamil and Telugu. One of the long-awaited Tamil movies, Chakra hit theaters on February 19 on around 1500 screens worldwide. Starring Vishal, the film was initially supposed to have its theatrical release on 1 May 2020 coinciding with May Day but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in India.
