Samantha Akkineni Apologises For Hurting Sentiments In The Family Man 2

Chennai, August 25, 2021: South Indian actress Samantha Akkineni made her Hindi debut with Raj & DK's web series, The Family Man 2. While the actress received global appreciation for her act, she also came under serious criticism for portraying a Tamil rebellion called Razi in the Amazon Prime Video series.

The Tamil Nadu government had urged the Centre to ban the show after the trailer was released. Tamil Nadu's IT Minister T Mano Thangaraj had written a letter that said that the series "not only hurt the sentiments of Eelam Tamils but also the feelings of the people of Tamil Nadu". The actress faced accusations for negatively portraying the Tamil Eelam.



However, after the show was released, many people changed their mind and appreciate Samantha for playing that role. But she is continuing to receive criticism from a certain group of people which led the actress to apologizes to them for unintentionally hurting their sentiments.

Without addressing the topic herself but responding to the criticism, the Majili actress said in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, "I allow people to have their own opinions. If they decided to stay with that opinion, I am very sorry for hurting anyone's sentiments. I sincerely apologize as it was not something I intended on doing at all".

"I did not mean to hurt anyone. So, if I did, I am extremely sorry. I am glad that, though, once the show did release, a lot of the noise stopped. I guess some saw it wasn't so bad after all. For the people who didn't and still continue to hold resentment, I sincerely apologize", she added.

Samantha Akkineni played the role of the antagonist Raji in the series headlined by Manoj Bajpayee. Meanwhile, on the other hand, Sam will next be seen in Telugu movies, Shaakuntalam, and Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal.
