Marvel Studios Releases Official Synopsis Of Thor: Love And Thunder

Mumbai, April 19 - Marvel Studios' highly-anticipated "Thor: Love And Thunder" is less than three months away from debuting in theaters worldwide on July 8. The Taika Waititi-directed, which is intended to be the direct sequel to "Thor: Ragnarok" (2017), is touted to be the finest Thor movie and one of the finest in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. ## The studio released the teaser of "Thor: Love And Thunder", and it officially gives the first look at Natali Portman's Mighty Thor. Portman is making her comeback to the MCU after 2013's "Thor: The Dark World". As shown in the teaser, Jane Foster (Portman) has become more powerful as Mighty Thor and helps Thor (Chris Hemsworth) in fighting with Gorr the God Butcher. ## Meanwhile, Marvel has released the official synopsis of the movie and it gives more clarity about Mighty Thor's character and her powers. It is set after the events of "Avengers: Endgame". ## "The film finds Thor (Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he's ever faced - a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christain Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi), and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Portman), who - to Thor's surprise - inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Well, one Florida man has gone way beyond that and watched "Spider-Man: No Way Home" 292 times, and sets a new world record of watching a single movie most times in theaters. ## A person, named Ramiro Alanis, has seen the global box office blockbuster 292 times, which is 30 days of seeing the movie when you add it all up, according to the Guinness Book Of World Records (via comic book). 'Aquaman' Star Amber Heard's Ex-Assistant Alleges Actress's Claims Of Physical Abuse Are False

Los Angeles, April 16 - The ongoing legal battle between "Pirates of the Caribbean" star Johnny Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard has taken an interesting turn as Heard's former assistant Kate James has alleged that Heard's claims of physical abuse at the hands of Depp are false. ## Amber Heard is being sued by Johnny Depp, for $50 million, on allegations that she defamed him by describing herself as a "figure representing domestic violence" in a 2018 op-ed in the 'Washington Post'. ## Heard responded to the lawsuit by countersuing Depp and alleging that he physically assaulted her on 10 occasions throughout their relationship. The couple parted ways in 2016, after Heard filed for a protective order in court, with what appeared to be a bruise on her face.## In a prerecorded video presented by Depp's attorneys to the jurors, Kate James, who worked for Heard from 2012 to 2015, argued that she never witnessed Depp and Heard getting into verbal or physical altercations, nor did she notice any evidence of domestic violence during her regular visits to the couple's respective homes.## However, she said Heard did contact her in distress after arriving back at their home in Los Angeles after a private flight with Depp in May 2014. For the said incident, Heard alleged in court filings that Depp kicked her and threw objects at her on the flight because he was upset about a romantic scene she had filmed the day prior with James Franco.## Kate also recalled that he received humiliation from the "Aquaman" actress when she asked for an increased salary. Box Office: 'Sonic 2' Shoot To Record-Breaking Start In North America

Los Angeles, April 11 - Paramount Pictures' "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" was on fire at the domestic (North America) box office, and powered to a massive $72 million 3-day opening weekend debut. The film beat industry projections and record the biggest video game movie opening of all time and second-biggest in 2022. ## Directed by Jeff Fowler, "Sonic 2" topped its predecessor, 2020's "Sonic the Hedgehog", which had grossed $58 million in its first 3 days. The new movie landed at number 1 at the domestic box office and was miles ahead of the second-ranked Sony's "Morbius", which plunged by 74% in the second weekend for a low $10.2 million. ## The massive box office numbers of kids' friendly, "Sonic 2" are another indication that family audiences are feeling much better about returning to movie theaters after keeping themselves away due to the covid-19 pandemic. ## "This is an outstanding opening. With solid reviews and very good audience scores, 'Sonic' is going to have a strong run", said David A. Gross, who runs the movie consulting firm Franchise Entertainment Research (via Variety). ## Meanwhile, the science fiction action-adventure comedy film, added another $37 million from 53 territories, taking its international tally to $70 million and global total to $141 million. "Sonic 2" landed a positive "A" CinemaScore from audiences. Film critics were mixed, as evidenced by the film's 68% average rating on Rotten Tomatoes.## Ben Schwartz has voiced Sonic the Hedgehog, an anthropomorphic blue hedgehog who can run at supersonic speeds. It has been one of the most anticipated movies not just in North America but also overseas. The latest figure takes the movie past "Fast & Furious 9" to become the 4th biggest global blockbuster of the pandemic era. ## The Robert Pattinson-fronted movie has grossed over $352 million at the domestic box office (North America) while overseas, it has minted approx. $370 million. It has become a global hit and outgrossed all other movies except "No Time to Die" ($774 million), China's "The Battle of Lake Changjin" ($905 million), and "Spider-Man: No Way Home" ($1.89 billion) during the health crisis. ## "The Batman" is expected to outscore James Bond "No Time To Die" to become the 3rd biggest grosser during the said time. Will Smith Banned From Oscars Ceremony For 10 Years But Will Remain Eligible For Future Oscar Nominations And Wins

Los Angeles, April 9 - The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has banned actor Will Smith for 10 years from returning to the Oscars or attending any other Academy events. The decision has been taken 12 days after the first time Oscar winner slapped Chris Rock during the 94th Academy Awards ceremony over a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith. ## However, despite the ban, Smith will retain the Oscar that he won in the Best Actor category for "King Richard", and will be eligible for future Oscar nominations and wins. ## The Academy's 54-person board of governors held a special meeting on Friday to determine what action to take against Smith. DC film "The Batman" has completed the second weekend at the worldwide box office and brought in a super $463 million. At the domestic (North America) box office, the Robert Pattinson-fronted has become the second biggest grosser of the pandemic era with $238.5 million in 10 days. Internationally, "The Batman" has grossed an estimated $225 million at the end of the second weekend. In India, the movie is having a good run, nearing Rs. 50 crores mark for all languages. At the end of the second weekend, it has grossed Rs. 46 crores ($5.9 million). India is currently the 11th biggest international market for "The Batman", with the United Kingdom is leading the chart with $35 million. "The Batman", however, is far behind than "Spider-Man: No Way Home", which had grossed Rs. 224 crores ($29.18M) at the end of the second weekend in India in December 2021. The Batman film sees Batman (Pattinson), who has been fighting crime in Gotham City for two years, uncover corruption while pursuing the Riddler (Paul Dano), a serial killer who targets Gotham's elite. Ryan Reynolds' 'Deadpool 3' Officially In Works With Director Shawn Levy

Mumbai, March 22 - Ryan Reynolds-fronted "Deadpool 3" is officially in the works with director Shawn Levy is in the advance talks to direct it. The superhero film will mark Ryan and Levy's 3rd collaboration after box-office hit "Free Guy", and recently released sci-fi comedy film "The Adam Project" on Netflix. ## Ryan Reynolds will return as Wade Wilson/Deadpool in the 3rd installment based on Marvel Comics character. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are writing the script. "Deadpool" marks the first film in the franchise where Marvel Studios will work directly with Reynolds and Team Deadpool. ## Reynolds took to Twitter and gave a fun confirmation of his new Levy trilogy.
