'Godzilla vs. Kong' Sequel Is Officially In The Development To Begin Filming In Australia In Late 2022

Mumbai, March 21 - Legendary Entertainment's "Godzilla vs. Kong" is officially is in the development to begin the film in Australia later this year. The Queensland state government has confirmed the shooting development of the sequel.
The yet-untitled sequel will be the third monster verse film to be filmed in Queensland state. According to Variety, the film is expected to film at Gold Coast and other locations in Southeast Queensland. Earlier, "Godzilla vs Kong" was filmed on the Gold Coast in 2019, and "Kong: Skull Island" was filmed in the state in 2016.
"The Morrison Government continues to boost to the Queensland economy with another international blockbuster from the MonsterVerse franchise drawn to Australia, with $16 million in funding under the highly successful $540 million Location Incentive Program", according to a press release by a Queensland minster (via wegotthiscovered).
The Variety report said that the makers will receive A$16 million ($11.8 million), and an additional A$6.3 million ($4.66 million) of subsidy will come from the state screen agency Screen Queensland and its Production Attraction Strategy.
The production of the "Godzilla vs. Kong" sequel is expected to generate more than A$119 million ($88 million) into the Australian economy and will provide employment to over 500 local casts and crew and use more than 750 extras.
Meanwhile, "Godzilla vs. Kong", which was released in March 2021, was the first movie to reach $100 million domestically (North America) during the covid-19 pandemic and went on to score over $468 million globally. It was released day and date on HBO Max.
