Box Office: 'Vettaiyan' Tops 100 Crore Worldwide Gross After Strong Second Day

Chennai, October 12 - Superstar Rajinikanth's action drama Vettaiyan has topped 100 crores gross at the worldwide box office after the super strong second day. The movie had a mid-week release on Thursday and despite that, it took a solid opening of 64 crores globally.

On its second day/first Friday, Vettaiyan dropped just around 25% at the domestic box office and grossed approximately 27.80 crores. Additionally, the movie minted approximately 14 crores gross collection internationally, making it a 42 crores gross second day worldwide.



The rock-solid collection on Friday pushed the total to past 100 crores gross at approximately 105.80 crores, including 64.80 crores gross in India and 41 crores overseas. With this, it has become the 25th Indian movie and 5th Tamil movie of 2024 to achieve the feat.

Vettaiyan is the third movie of superstar Rajinikanth to top 100 crores worldwide gross collection post the Covid-19 pandemic after Annaatthe (2021) and Jailer (2023). In between, the actor played an extended role in Lal Salaam which was a major box-office failure.
