Mumbai, September 8 - Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's mega-blockbuster Stree 2 continues to run riot at the box office even in its 4th week. The lack of strong competition is proving to be a one-horse race for this horror-comedy sequel.## After crossing 500 crores net in 3 weeks (22 days), Stree 2 carried the momentum to score the biggest 4th weekend in Hindi after minting 23.50+ crores net collection. Mumbai, September 7 - 2023 was the year completely dominated by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan with three big box office blockbusters. It all began with his comeback film, Pathaan before Jawan outdid it with its phenomenal performance, followed by the third success of the year in the form of Dunki. ## Pathaan redefined the stardom of Shah Rukh Khan by becoming his first 1000 crores gross grosser before director Atlee's Jawan took it to the next level and turned out to be one of the biggest Pan India blockbusters of all time. Jawan has turned a year old after getting unleashed at the box office on this day (September 7) last year.## The action thriller was one of the first major collaborations between a South Indian director and a Bollywood superstar in recent times, and this collaboration turned out to be one of the most talked about for redefining the mass genre in Indian cinema. It was mounted on a huge scale and featured many mass moments to turn the theatres into stadiums.## Jawan was a box office phenomenon from day 1 and it broke several records in India and overseas. August 2024 Indian Box Office Report

Mumbai, September 5 - August 2024 show some of the most-awaited films getting released but none could leave a mark at the Indian box office, except for mega-blockbuster success of Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted horror-comedy Stree 2, along with Tamil movies Demonte Colony 2, and Raayan, and Telugu title Saripodhaa Sanivaaram.## Despite the mixed bag of successes, August proved to be the biggest-grossing month of the year (so far) at the Indian box office, thanks to the monstrous contribution from Stree 2. The IBO delivered approximately 1100 crores gross collection in August, with almost 50% contribution from Stree 2.## Amar Kaushik's directorial was easily the highest-grossing film in India in Independence Day month, with an approximate gross collection of 540 crores, almost 13X of the second biggest grosser of the month, Vikram-starrer Tamil movie Thangalaan which grossed approximately 42 crores.## There were 3 major Bollywood releases in August, and other than Stree 2, Akshay Kumar-fronted comedy drama Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham's action thriller Vedaa proved to be failures with approximately 33 crores gross, and 25 crores gross, respectively. ## Among the Telugu titles, Double iSmart and Mr. Bachchan ended up as huge disasters while the only saving grace for the industry came towards the end of the month in the form of Nani-starrer Saripodhaa Sanivaaram which was the highest-grossing Telugu movie in August with 26 crores gross (3 days only).## For Tamil, other than Thangalaan which underperformed, it was Dhanush-starrer Raayan which released in July with a blockbuster collection and continued the momentum in August to add another 36 crores gross collection to its total and was the biggest Tamil grosser of the month. Horror thriller Demonte Colony 2 also proved to be a success with approximately 35 crores gross in Tamil. ## The total domestic collection in August was the highest of the year, beating January which delivered approximately 1025 crores in gross collection in India. The movie, directed and headlined by Kangana, was supposed to hit the big screens on September 6 but a delay in the censor certificate has pushed it back by a week or two. ## The film has been facing hurdles ever since the trailer was released. There have been reports about the collaboration for quite some now and according to Peepingmoon.com, the movie has officially been confirmed.## The yet untitled movie is a 2-hero project and has been in discussion since last year. Box Office: 'Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein' Re-Release Score 1 Crore Net In The Opening Weekend

Mumbai, September 2 - The re-release factor has been working well at the box office for the classic Bollywood hits for the last few months. After Rockstar and Laila Majnu, it's now turn for R. Madhavan, Dia Mirza, and Saif Ali Khan-led love story Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein which is turning out to be a success story at the box office. ## Directed by Gautham Menon, RHTDM was re-released on August 30 and did well at the box office, grossing approximately 1.20 crore (1 crore net) in its opening weekend. It scored approximately 20 lakh gross on its first day (Friday), before jumping by over 100% for approx. 45 lakh on Saturday and another 60 lakh gross on Sunday.## It now needs to see how the fair during the weekdays, which will determine how far it will go at the box office. 'Stree 2' Beats 'Fighter' To Become Highest-Grossing Bollywood Movie of 2024 At The Overseas Box Office

Mumbai, September 1 - Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted mega-blockbuster Stree 2 has become the highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2024 at the overseas box office, after beating Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone's Fighter. ## The horror-comedy, directed by Amar Kaushik, has grossed an estimated 110 crores internationally in 17 days so far, surpassing the lifetime overseas total of Fighter's 104 crores. These two are the only Bollywood films of the year to cross the 100-crore mark outside India. ## Among the Indian films of the year, Stree 2 is behind only Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD (275 crores approx.) at the overseas box office. Kalki is a multilingual release and it grossed over 50 crores in Hindi internationally. ## Produced by Maddock Films and Jio Studios, Stree 2 is nearing 700 crores mark at the worldwide box office. Mumbai, August 30 - Blockbuster director Ali Abbas Zafar is returning to Yash Raj Films to direct some of the biggest films upcoming films from the studio, reports Variety. ## The Sultan director made his directorial debut with YRF's romantic comedy Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, starring Katrina Kaif, Imran Khan and Ali Zafar in 2011. He followed this with Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor's Gunday (2014) for the studio. ## Zafar got his biggest breakthrough under YRF in 2016 when he directed superstar Salman Khan's sports drama Sultan which is his highest-grossing film to date. A year later in 2017, the filmmaker reunited with Salman for another blockbuster, Tiger Zinda Hai, the second instalment of YRF's popular spy universe franchise created by YRF head Aditya Chopra. ## After making his first 4 directorial ventures for Yash Raj Films, Abbas Zafar reunited with the Bajrangi Bhaijaan star for the third time for Bharat (2019) which was the filmmaker's first movie outside YRF, before he directed 2 OTT films - Jogi (2022) and Bloody Daddy (2023). ## After scoring big success with all his theatrical films, Ali had a rare misfire earlier this year in the form of Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff's Bade Miyan Chote Miyan which bombed at the box office.
