Mumbai, September 3 - There is no stopping Stree 2 which is nearing the coveted box office milestone of 500 crores net. It will become only the 6th movie ever and first of 2024 to achieve the feat in the Hindi language as it is expected to breach this mark by the end of the third week.

Starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, the horror-comedy blockbuster has been unstoppable since the first day and that juggernaut is continuing in the third week. The movie was released in a heavy clash and despite that, it has turned out to be one of the biggest Indian blockbusters of all time.



There was a question mark on Stree 2 whether it could enter the 500 crore club due to the 3-way clash but the failure of other movies blew away those doubts and it has been a one-horse race at the box office. Now, there is another question has arisen whether the movie could top Shah Rukh Khan-fronted Jawan and become the biggest Hindi grosser of all time.

The one good thing for Stree 2 in its pursuit to become the biggest Hindi grosser is that there is no competition at all for the next couple of weeks. This means the film will remain the first choice of moviegoers and the trend so far suggests it is sure shot to cross the 550 crores mark with a high possibility of crossing the final Hindi total of Jawan (582 crores net).

Both Stree 2 and Jawan had a Thursday release during Independence Day and Krishna Janmashtami, respectively. Jawan dominated the opening weekend as compared to Stree 2, however, the latest blockbuster showed a better hold as compared to SRK-fronted after that and that keeps the former in the race to emerge the biggest Hindi grosser.

Jawan is the fastest to reach 500 crores net, taking just 18 days while Stree 2 took 22 days which is the second fastest, ahead of Gadar 2 which took 24 days. As said, the road is clear for Stree 2 to cross the line and set a new box office record.
