Box Office: 'Stree 2' Beats 'Fighter' In 5 Days To Become Biggest Bollywood Grosser of 2024 Domestically

Mumbai, August 19 - It didn't take much time for the sensational blockbuster Stree 2 to emerge as the biggest Bollywood grosser of 2024 at the domestic box office. The horror-comedy, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, down Hrithik Roshan's Fighter in just 5 days to become the number 1 Bollywood title of the year. ## Fighter, released during the Republic Day weekend, scored approximately 212.75 crores net/255 crores gross in its lifetime run and Stree 2 has surpassed this total in under 5 days. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the movie is looking to score 30+ crores net on its 5th day which will take its total collection to 220+ crores net. ## Meanwhile, Stree 2 has beaten Chhichhore (153 crores net) along with Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar (147 crores net) and Saaho (145 crores net) on its 4th day to become Shraddha Kapoor's highest-grossing movie domestically in Hindi. As reported earlier, it is the actress' 7th movie to top 100 crores net and first to breach 200 crores mark. ## In terms of the Hindi box office, Stree 2 is currently behind Kalki 2898 AD (293+ crores net) as the second biggest grosser of the year. The Indian Box Office Grosses 350+ Crore During Independence Day Weekend 2024; 'Stree 2' Leads With 230 Crore Gross

Mumbai, August 19 - The Indian Box Office delivered 350+ crores gross collection during the Independence Day weekend (August 15-18). Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted horror-comedy Stree 2 led the pack with a monstrous 230 crore gross, which is almost 2/3 of the total collection. ## Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 has had the second-biggest opening weekend of 2024 in India after Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD which grossed approximately 370 crores in its 4-day first weekend. While Kalki 2898 AD was a multilingual movie, Stree 2 was in just the Hindi language. ## Apart from Stree 2, the other movies failed to capitalise on the big opportunity during the long weekend. Chiyaan Vikram's Thangalaan was the second biggest domestic grosser with approximately 33.75 crores collection which is underwhelming. The fellow Tamil title Demonte Colony 2, however, performed well with approximately 17.75 crores gross against minimum expectations.## Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham-fronted Vedaa, which were expected to do well during the Holiday period, failed without making much noise with approximately 17 crores gross and 16.50 crores gross domestic collection, respectively. ## The other two films which failed miserably at the box office are the Telugu movies, Double iSmart and Mr. Bachchan which grossed approximately 13.75 crores and 9.50 crores, respectively. Box Office: 'Stree 2' Scored Sensational First Weekend Worldwide

Mumbai, August 19 - Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's horror-comedy blockbuster Stree 2 has had a sensational extended first weekend at the worldwide box office which saw it crossing all but Fighter to already become the second biggest Bollywood grosser of 2024 in just 4 days. ## Directed by Amar Kaushik, the blockbuster sequel is simply unstoppable in India, earning approximately 191.50 crores net (230 crores gross) collection in the first 4 days+previews. With this, it has become the second biggest Bollywood grosser domestically after Fighter which scored approximately 255 crores gross in India. ## Stree 2 will outgross Fighter with its 5th-day collection which will make it the number 1 Bollywood title of the year at the Indian box office. Mumbai, August 18 - Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted Stree 2 has a monstrous first 4-day weekend at the domestic box office with close to 200 crores net collection after the historic Sunday total of 50+ crores net. ## The Amar Kaushik's directorial blockbuster has had its second 50+ crores net day and the biggest so far in its short run so far. Mumbai, August 17 - Amid the struggle of other films, Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's horror-comedy Stree 2 is turning out to be an unstoppable force at the box office, already one of the biggest grossers for the talent involved. ## After the sensational first 2 days, the Amar Kaushik's directorial blockbuster scored a huge first Saturday, crossing the 40 crores net mark for the second time in its short run so far. According to the early estimates, Stree 2 scored in the range of 43-45 crores net collection on its third day. ## The film's total collection after three days (including previews) is around 135 crores net, which already makes it the 3rd biggest Bollywood grosser of the year. Stree 2 is expected to breach the 50 crores net mark on Sunday and then follow it with a rocking collection on Monday which is the national holiday due to Raksha Bandhan. ## Considering the trend, Stree 2 is expected to score 215+ crores net over the 5-day opening weekend. Box Office: 'Khel Khel Mein' And 'Vedaa' Opening Day Early Estimates

Mumbai, August 15 - Amid the box office juggernaut of Stree 2, Akshay Kumar-fronted comedy drama Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham-starrer action drama Vedaa were battling it out to come second and it is the latter one which won the race by a fair margin.## According to the early estimates, the John Abraham-led scored in the range of 6.50-7 crores net on its opening day. It is a fair opening considering a 3-way clash. It was always going to be difficult for the movie to score due to Stree 2 which was easily the first choice of the moviegoers but Vedaa did decently overcome that challenge.## The occupancy of Vedaa showed improvement throughout the opening day, especially post-noon shows. The opening of the film is above the projections by a decent margin which can be seen as a good sign. The initial word of mouth seems to be mixed and it needs to be seen how it fairs in the coming days.## Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein showed a significant improvement over the actor's last movie Sarfira but the overall opening remained low to the standard of Akshay who has continuously delivered very good starts at the box office.## According to the early estimates, the comedy-drama scored in the range of 5 crores net on its first day which is in sync with projections. Mumbai, August 14 - The box office juggernaut of Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's horror-comedy Stree 2 has begun as it beats superstar Shah Rukh Khan's action comedy Chennai Express to score the biggest previews for a Bollywood title.## Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 has scored an estimated 8.35 crores net on its Wednesday previews, with shows starting from 9:30 PM. Mumbai, August 14 - Amid the juggernaut of Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's Stree 2, this Independence Day weekend will see Akshay Kumar-fronted Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham's Vedaa will fight it out to come second at the box office. ## Akshay returns to his forte comedy genre in which he has scored many successes but all are not the same this time. The actor is coming after a series of unsuccessful films and to turn the tide, he will have hope for a change in fortune and hope the film turns out to be a really good one. ## As said, the opening of Khel Khel Mein is expected to be low considering the pre-sales which are better than Akshay's last film Sarfira but overall remains low. As of 8 PM on August 14, the movie has sold approximately 29K tickets with approx. 1 crore gross for the opening day.## The final opening day pre-sales of the movie are expected to be in the range of 1.50 crores gross which indicates the opening in the range of 4-5 crores net.
