Box Office: 'Stree 2' Scores An Excellent First Saturday (Early Estimates)

Mumbai, August 17 - Amid the struggle of other films, Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's horror-comedy Stree 2 is turning out to be an unstoppable force at the box office, already one of the biggest grossers for the talent involved.

After the sensational first 2 days, the Amar Kaushik's directorial blockbuster scored a huge first Saturday, crossing the 40 crores net mark for the second time in its short run so far. According to the early estimates, Stree 2 scored in the range of 43-45 crores net collection on its third day.



The film's total collection after three days (including previews) is around 135 crores net, which already makes it the 3rd biggest Bollywood grosser of the year. Stree 2 is expected to breach the 50 crores net mark on Sunday and then follow it with a rocking collection on Monday which is the national holiday due to Raksha Bandhan.

Considering the trend, Stree 2 is expected to score 215+ crores net over the 5-day opening weekend. Even after the holiday period, the movie will have no real threat for the next few weeks which should help to continue with a strong collection during the weekdays.

At this point, 400+ crores net lifetime collection looks well within reach but it will be interesting to see if it can go on to touch 500 crores net.
