Ajay Devgn's 'Shaitaan' Advance Booking Status And Opening Day Box Office Expectations

Mumbai, March 7 - After the good first two months of 2024, the Hindi film industry has now pinned its hope on Ajay Devgn-fronted supernatural horror thriller Shaitaan to continue the momentum at the box office. Directed by Vikas Bahl, the film also stars Jyothika, R. Madhavan, and Janki Bodiwala in key roles and is scheduled to release on March 8.## Shaitaan has been able to generate a decent buzz, thanks to the genre and well-received trailer. The booking for the film was opened a couple of days back and though it is not over the roof it is still decent considering the horror genre which has a limited audience. ## As of 3 PM on March 7, the pre-sales gross collection of Shaitaan for the opening day is around 2.50 crores with close to 110K tickets sold. The final pre-sales of the movie are expected to finish around 3.50 crores for the opening day which will be a decent response. ## The pre-sales of Shaitaan are more or less similar to Sam Bahadur and Dream Girl 2 though the genre of both these films was different. Given the booking trend, the Ajay Devgn-starrer opening could be somewhere around Dream Girl 2 which scored 10.69 crores net. The walk-ins, given the positive word of mouth, are expected to be better than the aforementioned two films, plus the Ajay Devgn factor also boasts the chances.## There is a holiday on March 8 on account of Maha Shivratri which will further strengthen the film's opening day box office prospects so the start in the range of 10-13 crores is very much on the card. The good thing for Shaitaan is that there is no big competition this week apart from holdovers. Mumbai, March 5 - Bollywood star Ajay Devgn set to thrill the audiences with his upcoming supernatural thriller film Shaitaan, co-starring R. Madhavan, Jyothika, and Janki Bodiwala. The Vikas Bahl's directorial movie is gearing up to release on March 8 on the occasion of Mahashivrati. ## Shaitaan is said to be the remake of the Gujarati film Vash, however, unlike the original version, the upcoming film has been granted a U/A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Mumbai, February 29 - Jio Studios and B62 Studios' political thriller Article 370, starring Yami Gautam and Priyamani in the leading roles, scored a good first week at the domestic box office, scoring over 35 crores net collection.## The movie, based on the real events that led to the abrogating of Article 370 in J&K, was released on February 23 and opened to a good collection of around 5.9 crores at a discounted price. Due to positive word of mouth, the movie witnessed growth over the weekend and minted approximately 23 crores net in the first 3 days. ## Article 370 witnessed a drop of over 60% on Monday for around 3.25 crores net but since then, the movie showed consistency in collection and remained over 3 crores net during the weekdays. Blockbuster 'Drishyam' Franchise To Be Remade In Hollywood

Mumbai, February 29 - The blockbuster Indian suspense thriller film franchise Drishyam is set to be remade in the English language. India's Panorama Studios has joined hands with U.S. companies Gulfstream Pictures and JOAT Films to bring the movie to Hollywood. ## Drishaym was originally made in Malayalam language, starring superstar Mohanlal in the lead role. It was remade in Hindi with Ajay Devgn and Tabu in the lead roles in 2015 and later, a sequel in both languages released in 2021 and 2022, respectively. ## Panorama Studios produced the Hindi version and also acquired the international remake rights to Drishyam 1 & 2 from the original producers, Aashirvad Cinemas. The studio has already announced a Korean-language remake of the film in 2023 and is close to finalising a deal to remake the movie in Spanish-language. ## "Drishyam's clever narrative has a universal appeal and we are keen to celebrate this story with audiences worldwide. Shah Rukh Khan's 'Dunki' Final Worldwide Box Office Collection and Records

Mumbai, February 27 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh marked his return to the big screen in 2023 with mega-blockbuster Pathaan in January, followed by ever-bigger success in the form of Jawan in September, and by the end of the year, the actor scored another success in the form of Dunki. ## Dunki was supposed to be SRK's biggest movie due to his maiden collaboration with Maverick director Rajkumar Hirani. However, the comedy-drama couldn't come close to the actor's previous two movies though it ended up as a successful venture due to a controlled production budget. ## Released during the Christmas 2023 weekend, Dunki scored approximately 29 crores net upon its Thursday opening but the film couldn't show much growth from thereon during the weekend. It still scored a good first-week collection of 160 crores net but due to the mixed word of mouth, the movie dropped heavily in the second week to around 46 crores net. ## Dunki competed with Prabhas-fronted action drama Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire and the holdover Animal starring Ranbir Kapoor. The movie, however, kept pushing at low levels and eventually was able to cross 200 crores net collection, which can be termed decent given the genre but a lot was expected from the SRK and Rajkumar Hirani combo. ## The movie also underperformed at the overseas box office with an estimated 182 crores. The movie is produced by Pooja Entertainment and also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran in the villain role.## With one and a half months left for the release, BMCM is already among the most anticipated Bollywood films and now, it has reportedly received a huge boost in its pursuit to get a wide release in international markets where it is expected to do well at the box office. ## According to Bollywood Hungama, the makers of BMCM have collaborated with Aditya Chopra's Yash Raj Films to roll the movie out in overseas territories. Box Office: Article 370 First Sunday/Third Day Early Estimates

Mumbai, February 25 - Yami Gautam-fronted Article 370 has had a very good first weekend at the domestic box office, scoring around 23 crores net over 3 days. In an encouraging sign, the films showed good growth over the weekend. ## According to early estimates, the political thriller minted 9.50-10 crores net collection on its first Sunday. The jump is around 25% from Saturday collection of approximately 7.50 crores net which is a very good improvement for a movie with limited audiences. ## It will be a litmus test for the movie on Monday which is considered a make-or-break day as far as the box office prospects. Box Office: Article 370 and Crakk Second Day/First Saturday Early Estimates

Mumbai, February 24 - After a good first day, Yami Gautam-starrer Article 370 shows a very good spike of around 30% on its second day. The jump today is a huge positive sign for the film as the opening day collection came due to discounted prices but today the film has normal rates. ## According to early estimates, the political thriller scored an estimated 7.50 (+/-) crores net collection, taking the total cume to approximately 13.40 crores net in two days. The movie has set itself up for a big Sunday as the first weekend looks to be around 22-25 crores net. ## The opening of the film was encouraging with discounted ticket prices but there were doubts about whether it could hold the collection with normal rates. Not only has the movie shown a very good jump with regular prices but also indicates a long run though a lot will depend on Monday's hold. ## Meanwhile, Vidyut Jammwal's sports actioner Crakk, after the good first day with discounted prices, dropped on its second as it scored an estimated 2.75-3 crores net collection. Though a drop was expected with normal rates as initial word of mouth for the movie is mixed, it would have been nice had it finished close to the opening day figures which is not the case. ## The total collection after two days is around 7 crores net. Yami Gautam's 'Article 370' Set For A Good Opening At The Box Office

Mumbai, February 22 - Yami Gautam and Priyamani-starrer political thriller Article 370 is headed for a good start at the box office. Directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale is scheduled to hit screens on February 23. ## The film is seeing an excellent response in advance sales which comes as a big surprise to many, however, the pre-sales are being propelled by the cinema lovers' day across multiplexes with a discounted price of rs. 99. ## In 3 national chains (PVR, INOX, Cinepolis), Article 370 has sold over 80K tickets so far. It is about to finish around 100K for the opening day, which is higher than some big ticket entertainers like Lal Singh Chaddha, Vikram Vedha, and Drishyam 2, among others. ## With the kind of pre-sales the movie is having, an opening of well over 10 crores mark would have been assured but it comes at half of normal ticket prices.
