Mumbai, July 13 - IMDb, an online database of information related to the entertainment industry, has unveiled the list of the top 10 most popular Indian movies in the first half of 2023, and the list is topped by superstar Shah Rukh Khan's all-time blockbuster Pathaan.## Directed by Siddharth Anand, "Pathaan" was released in January and went on to become one of the highest-grossing Indian movies of all time with a worldwide gross collection of around 1050 crores. Mumbai, July 11 - The much-awaited sequel to producer Dinesh Vijan's blockbuster horror-comedy "Stree" has commenced filming today in Chanderi. Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao return to reprise their roles along with Pankaj Tripti, Aparshakti Khurrana, and Abhishek Banerjee from the first movie. ## The makers announced the commencement of the shoot today with a twist in the plot of "Stree 2". While Stree, played by Flora Saini, brought chaos in the life of Chanderi's people, this time Stree will come to save them from the terror of a head-cutter as the villagers call for "O Stree, protect us".## Amar Kaushik returns to direct the sequel, produced by Vijan's Maddock Films. Raj & D.K., who wrote the screenplay of the first film, are not a part of the movie. Mumbai, July 10 - National-award winning filmmaker Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan's latest film "72 Hoorain" has had a low opening weekend at the box office as the movie could score approx. 1.25 crores net in three days. ## Starring Pavan Malhotra and Ameer Bashir in lead roles, "72 Hoorain" was hit by controversy even before its release as a section accused the makers of hurting religious sentiments through the movie. Mumbai, July 10 - The wait finally ends and the Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is there to fight the wrongs in society in the first look teaser/trailer of the highly-anticipated action thriller film Jawan" directed by Atlee Kumar. ## The 2-minute and 12 seconds promo gives the first look at Shah Rukh Khan's different looks as well as the first look at Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, and Deepika Padukone (cameo). The makers have officially described the movie as a "high-octane action thriller which outlines the emotional journey of a man who is set to rectify the wrongs in society". ## The promo begins with a voiceover by Shah Rukh Khan, who says, "I don't know who I am or what I am, I do not know". He goes on to say whether he is a promise made to a mother or a purpose.. unfinished. "Am I good or bad, a blessing or a curse, ask these questions yourself. Because I am you, for better or worse".## In between the dialogues, the actor indulges in some high-octane action scenes before we get to see glimpses of the soldier character that SRK plays. The teaser then gives a glimpse of SRK's bandaged look before he takes off his bandages to reveal an all-new bald look to hijack a train and goes on to say "When I become the villain, no hero stands a chance against me". ## SRK accompanies by his girl gang which helps him to fight the wrongs. Nayanthara and Deepika can also be seen involved in the fight scenes. The action-heavy promo, however, doesn't reveal what are the wrongs the actor and his girl gang are fighting. The promo ends with a funny train scene in which SRK is having a funny dance to an old song while the passengers shaking. ## Overall, the teaser lives up to the high expectations as it promises a complete mass entertainer SRK has never done before. Box Office: 'Satyaprem Ki Katha' Scores A Big Jump On Its Second Saturday

Mumbai, July 9 - Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani's musical romantic drama film "Satyaprem Ki Katha" is heading for a healthy lifetime collection at the domestic box office. Despite being not a mass-friendly film, it has done well in the first week to enter the second weekend with a bang. ## After dropping just 5% on its second Friday for 2.85 crores net, the Sameer Vidhwans-directed flick scored a big jump of 66.67% on its second Saturday to collect 4.75 crores net. This takes the total net collection to 60.81 crores in 10 days. It is expected to score a further jump today and is likely to bring in 5.50 crores for the second-weekend collection of around 13 crores. ## SPK also has done decently at the overseas box office to score approx. 13 crores net (estimated). The worldwide collection of the movie currently stands at around 85 crores gross and it will soon enter the 100-crore gross club globally. ## The Sajid Nadiadwala production has been able to attract its target multiplex audiences, especially the youth which is loving this romantic saga. Mumbai, July 8 - Director Rajkumar Hirani's maiden film with superstar Shah Rukh Khan, "Dunki" is one of the hugely anticipated films in the making. It is a social comedy-drama film based on the rampant use of an illegal backdoor route called 'Donkey Flight' to immigrate to countries like Canada and the USA. ## "Dunki" is scheduled to release during the Christmas weekend this year and it is expected to be one of the biggest hits of Indian cinema. The filmmaker has been working on the script for a long time and it was recently reported that it might take a few more months to complete the entire script work. ## During this period, the superstar was also interested in a film offered by producer Karan Johar, but now, according to a report in Mid-Day, the "Dabangg" star has made up his mind and picked Barjatya's film that is reportedly titled "Prem Ki Shaadi". ## It is said that Salman loved the script when it was first narrated to him in 2020 but due to the pandemic, the development of the film got delayed. This Siddharth Anand's directorial grossed more than 1000 crores at the worldwide box office and made SRK only the second Bollywood actor after Aamir Khan to reach the rare box office mark. ## Shah Rukh Khan's next two films "Jawan" and "Dunki" are the most-anticipated Bollywood films and according to the reports, both films are in red hot demand in the trade. According to Pinkvilla, SRK's Red Chillies Entertainment, which has produced both movies, has sold the non-theatrical rights for a record price. ## "It's Shah Rukh Khan v/s Shah Rukh Khan now as the top two non-theatrical deals of all time are under the name of King Khan. While the digital, satellite, and music rights of Jawan are sold for approximately Rs 250 crore, the same for Dunki is around Rs 230 crore", the report states. ## "Jawan", directed by Atlee, will also be released in Tamil and Telugu which is the reason it scored a higher deal in non-theatrical rights while Rajkumar Hirani's "Dunki" is an exclusive Hindi release as of now.
