'Jawan' Becomes Director Atlee's Highest-Grossing Film Worldwide; Records Biggest Single Day For A Bollywood Movie In The Regular Overseas Market

Mumbai, September 10 - Superstar Shah Rukh Khan's latest blockbuster Jawan is breaking records with each passing day. In just three days, the action thriller has crossed the 300 mark and is nearing 400 crores at the worldwide box office.

Directed by Atlee Kumar, "Jawan" has scored approximately 384 crores worldwide in three days, and with this, it has become the director's highest-grossing movie of all time. It has surpassed Thalapathy Vijay's "Bigil" lifetime worldwide collection of around 300 crores to become Atlee's biggest grosser ever.



Interestingly, "Jawan" is the maiden Bollywood venture for the Tamil filmmaker and also his first movie with the superstar Shah Rukh Khan. It is also actress Nayanthara, who has played the female lead role, the highest-grossing movie worldwide.

Meanwhile, "Jawan" has had the biggest single-day collection at the overseas box office (without China) for a Bollywood movie ever. On its third day, "Jawan" grossed an estimated $7 million (58 crores), beating the previous single-day record of 53 crores scored by Shah Rukh Khan's own movie "Pathaan" on its 4th day.

"Jawan" will become only the second Bollywood movie ever to score 500 crores worldwide on the opening day. It is tracking to earn around 510-530 crores over a 4-day extended weekend. "Pathaan" had generated 542 crores over a 5-day opening weekend in January this year.
